they actually provided subtitles in the theaters automatically so there are subtitles for these movies, a lot of people make that mistake. but now you know so you can understand what they’re signing for the next movie :) johns character at the end signed “i have *always* loved you.”

One thing about “A Quiet Place “ that makes it such a powerful viewing experience is the silence. You could hear a pin drop in the movie theater, which one reason it’s a less enjoyable experience at home.

It sucks that the moviegoing experience is no longer enjoyable because we'e losing a chance to see movies like this on the big screen. Until people behave themselves and stop thinking theatres are their home livingrooms, I'm going to keep watching at home first.

The first time I watched this, I was quiet the whole time. Literally holding my breath, covering my mouth during jump scares. I was like y'all are talking too much lol!! I loved this movie and loved how when they switched to the daughter they would make everything silent, so we could feel what it feels like to be her. Also, that nail scene took me out, I was like I can't do this!! The second one is really good too! Enjoyed your reaction!

A brilliant Sci Fi Horror Thriller film! John Krasinski, Director and star of the project, revealed in an interview that the aliens are called Death Angels (Dark Angels, Fallen Angels). They came from a dying world where there was no moom or sun, and after their world was destroyed by a supernova from a nearby star system, they hitched a ride on meteors tht crashed to Earth, where they begin to attack anything that gets in their way, they hunt by sound in the air or in the ground like the Graboids from TREMORS, they have armor plates on their body, making them very difficult to wound or kill, they are agile, aggressive and deadly.

One of the biggest plot holes of the movie: Why not just live next to the waterfall? Or just have speakers play noises or music all the time to drown out your normal noise?

  • @jaymanuel3396

They live on the East Coast in the north part. It would VERY uncomfortable to live outdoors in the winter. Heck it’s uncomfortable in the summer too. Plus they were expecting a baby! And they can’t build a cabin, too noisy. The moment they played anything on a speaker, the creatures would shred it to pieces. The waterfall was probably inspected by the creatures when they first arrived, so they know it’s not organic.

The thing about this movie is that I can think about is the possibility of an invasion from E.Ts and if they wanted to get rid of humans and any unnecessary life forms without damaging the planet or atmosphere it would be some thing like this, they could just make living weapons/creatures instead of just wasting anergy on missiles or any other type of anergy weapons. It is more simple and efficient to just grow your weapons or army.

IMO you were not too hard on the parents. I imagine, in a world of 8 billion, there will be some parents like that. But, like you, I just couldn't walk up front and not have my kids _close_ and always _within sight._ 🤦🏼‍♂️ That's so crazy. Because *Jane* asked before, I recommend *Jimmy Stewart* along with *Cary Grant* and *Katharine Hepburn* in a rom-com from 1940, *_The Philadelphia Story._* *My other usual recommendations:* ● *_The Abyss_* (1989) Dir by _James Cameron._ Starring _Ed Harris, Michael Biehn_ (Reese from Terminator & Hicks from Aliens), _Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio._ ● *_The Fisher King_* (1991) Dir. by Terry Gilliam, with _Robin Williams_ & _Jeff Bridges._ ● 🤠 I always recommend the western *_Silverado_* (1985). A fun western with a very young _Kevin Costner, Scott Glenn, Danny Glover, John Cleese, Jeff Goldblum, Kevin Kline_ and more. Written and directed by *_Lawrence Kasdan.¹_* ● *The Mexican* (2001), starring _Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts_ and _James Gandolfini._ *EDIT:* Trying to figure out _what they are_ and _where they come from_ is a great exercise for the imagination, and is pretty much the point of good science fiction. To make you think beyond the story. But to burden the story with whatever premise _you came up with,_ sort of defeats the purpose. Much like wishing the film would go beyond the point where it actually ended. IMO to show us an ending where she's shooting up aliens, would fall into that _"everything that's been done"_ category. And such an added scene leaves the film open to disappointing viewers. But the ending we did get can allow you to create that perfect continuation. Be well!🙋🏼‍♂️ ··•●✺●•·· ¹ ─ Co-writer of the _Star Wars_ films _The Empire Strikes Back_ (1980), _Return of the Jedi_ (1983), and _The Force Awakens_ (2015). He also co-wrote _Raiders of the Lost Ark_ (1981).
