These guy's, no matter the problems they had, and went thru together were a closer family than most real family's are. This song has been a favorite of mine ever since I saw them do it on the Rolling Stones Rock and roll circus back in 68 or 69. The musical tempo changes are just great and the whole song rocks when they open the machine up.

Green day brought me here. I have to say both versions are top notch. Each version has its own special thing that makes it unique. The Who is GDs fav band btw, so please dont be haters. At least we arent comparing Justin bieber with the who...;-)

I'm not sure which is my favourite... watching Jimi Hendrix play Wild Thing at Monterey or watching Keith Moon performing A Quick One... it's just epic. His one handed rolls and unorthodox cross hand moves around the kit are so much fun to watch... it's unteachable, it might be technichaly imperfect... but it is pure uncut rock and can never be repeated and therein lies it's beauty.

As good, if not better than "Rolling Stones RnR Circus.." Things I didn't know: They're singing "cello cello cello" right before he comes home because they wanted cellos on the record, but decided against it or whatever. So they sing "cello cello cello" instead. And it's "little girl GUIDE," guess that was her job. The crying heard around town was really Pete being buggered as a child. Thanks. This made my day.

A few points: 1. Yes, they are saying Cello Cello because they liked the cellos on The Beatles "Elanor Rigby". The record company wouldn't pay for them, so they put the lines in as a dig. 2. That's film, not video. 3. A Girl Guide is the British equivalent of a Girl Scout in the US. 4. This is from the Tommy tour. After the US tour they took a few months off, then recorded Live At Leeds in February 1970; so basically, this is a variation of the Leeds/Hull performances.
