A Quality Drill For Close In 1v1 Blocking- GAA Goalkeeping

Спорт

Close in 1v1 blocking is one of the least popular aspects of GAA Goalkeeping yet happens the most in matches. It involves bravery and technique (though there are several of these). Here we demonstrate a great drill to practice the 1v1 situation with pressure. You can do it with kids using a soft ball or big gym and progress all the way to a football at match speed for elite keepers.
The default for uncoached keepers in this situation is self preservation and collapsing back onto the backside. With practice you'll learn to stay big, be aggressive and dive or lunge and recover rapidly.
