i wanted x to be degrees instead of radians, as arcsin(1/sqrt(2)) (in degrees) is a clean number, 45. and the second one would be -45. Dang.

45 degrees is equal to π/4 radians. So even in radians, arcsin(1/√2)=π/4 (a clean number) The joke in this video is that he didn't realise arcsin(1/√2) is an exact number (π/4)

does he know that he's changing the domain when putting the inverse sine function?
@SunnyRosy-uk1ch

Nah I don't think he thought that far ahead but yes we have to use trigonometric general equation for that so theta= npi + (-1)^n pi/4 and using inverse there is wrong.

@@SunnyRosy-uk1ch why do u need to use that when your domain is limited between 0 to 2pi? There are only 2 positive solutions for sin in the 1st quad and 2nd quad respectively, giving us pi/4 and pi-pi/4. Similarly, for negative ones we have 2 solutions only, 3rd and 4th quadrant, giving us pi+pi/4, and 2pi - pi/4

Hopefully you took care of this when you redid it, but there are 4 solutions and only one of those arcsines is one.

Why not do it in a faster way:cos2x=0
=√2/2 so the answer is π÷4
