I've been playing since 1986 and I love the Waldorf (I have a Iridium Keyboard)... I understand about 50% of the engines.. not really touched the FM/Resonator part... the Waldorf surprises me everytime I sit down to program it. It really does invite you to make your own sounds as the default sounds are quite mediocre to me. One incredible feature is the "Analyze Audio" on the Wavetable engine... I've used it to create the most beautiful evolving sounds from all kinds of videos on youtube from glass harmoniums to hangdrums and kalimba.. love it...

Great video, thanks for sharing. I own too many! My JD-XA is also a (4 voice) analogue/digital (26 voice) hybrid. Other synths: Elektron SID Station, Infradeep PVX 800 from Russia, V-Synth XT, MC-505 (also a sound module), Alesis Micron & Quadrasynth, Yamaha A5000 sampler, Modwave and Super 6.

Thanks for a great video. Sold Kyra and Hydrasynth to buy Nina and it’s my favorite right now. Also have a OB-X8 and P10.

man im excited for this! have lusted after an Iridium for years but could never push the button on it! I have a Virus TI Polar which has just become an expensive object in my studio gathering dust. thought the same may happen for these. but wow they do sound amazing! Do you use it much in your music mate?

Honestly, since I own hardware synths, software is collecting dust on my hard drive. :-D Recording Audio from „real“ instruments gives me way more satisfaction at the moment.

@@phable fair play! I always found with the polar that it would never synth with my computer nicely / random spazzouts / audio dropping was more trouble than its worth!

Oh and my fav synth is the one that captures a feeling and moment forever. I do spend most of my time with the Korg OpSix ( ssooooo underrated. It makes unbelievable sound, ) the Korg Wavestate (deep like the ocean, also very underrated) the Syntrx II ( I’ve had for about a month) ., and Soma labs Pulsar 23, DSI Pro 2, Arturia Matrix Brute, Berhinger 2600, and the Q Swarm is a really great small synth. I have a few more and in the end, that are all fantastic. I wondering if the Quantum wii replace some of them. I do wonder about how similar sampling is in the Quantum vs other Samplers?

Thank you for this...I am so tired of reviews with amazing synths and then hearing 28 piano sounds, standard preset crap...I was looking at this and want to use it with my samplers..I also had gotten the E6400 and have not even used it yet. I want to hear it with that sampler and the Ensoniq ASR10............
