    Calm botha, I didn't make the comment to start a fight. I just relayed the origin story of the communion, the version we use in church today was an invention of the catholic church, as are many of the traditions we still use today, and as most of the traditions have become more powerful than the word of god.

    Concerning Paul's writing about communion in 1 Corinthians 11, I have learned that the "reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep" for not "discerning the Lord's body" means they don't acknowledge Jesus took the beating on the whipping post for our health, 'by His stripes you were healed". I would be interested in your comments.

    Pastor David, I’ve not ever heard the beauty and clarity in the agreement and the weaving of the old and New Testament so well discussed in one sermon. I am a Catholic and my singular joy is in the sacrifice of the Mass and the obedience commanded by Jesus to take his body and his blood into our bodies as a memorial to his sacrifice for our sins. The Holy Spirit is present in you as you speak thank you🙏

    WOW, what a powerful message! I'm blessed to find this. I'm here watching at 3 am. My extended family are ALL in shambles, this has gone on for years. I'm trying all I can think of to try to bring them back together. Thing is, I'm the black sheep, I'm not respected, I'm a Baby and immature in his word but most likely of each to Speak the TRUTH. I learned the family isn't walking in Fathers true word and I have no idea how to do this other then, get out of Gods way and be the light of truth. Please David, any advice would be so helpful. My family doesn't know who I really am but I can see exactly who they unknowingly are. How do I become the vessel to help and heal not only the family but our town? Any advice ? Thank you and God Bless. :)

    I listened to your message on Supernatural Signs "God Wants To Give You A Sign" tonight and this was right on time for me. My family and I have been in a season of transition and with that has come many questions, "did we hear God right," "should we be asking God for an update?" etc. The scripture reference you used regarding Gideon is exactly what the Lord led me to when we begin this journey and just a couple of weeks ago a Pastor friend joined faith with my husband and me and prayed specifically that God would give us the details. I'm grateful that God led me to your ministry today because your message, served as another sign of confirmation that I am seeking God for available truth and that He is leading me. My heart is for media in the gospel as well and appreciate the direction God has you pursuing. May the Lord bless you indeed as you continue following His voice walking faithfully in His plans for you.

    Thank you for this teaching. 🙏✝️ What about the Lord’s body, as in John 6? Where Jesus says He is the living bread which came down from heaven. In this chapter doesn’t Jesus refer to his blood and flesh for communion? And the Lords body in 1 Corinthians 11:29 and 30 refers to the broken body of Jesus, for our healing? Thanks 🙏 One more scripture 1Cor 10:16 it is referring to “the bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” In this scripture it is referring to the body of Christ, that is to say his flesh, as in John 6. Also 1Cor 11:29 does this not refer to the broken body of Christ? 1Peter 2:24 says that the broken body of Jesus is for our healing. Thanks 🙏

    Guys, communion was a graduation ceremony between rabbi and disciple, when the disciple learned all that a rabbi could teach him they had the communion ceremony to signify that the disciple has graduated to rabbi. It just means that you are the blood of my blood, the hands of my hands, the legs of my legs and the back of my back, you are to carry on the work now and after I'm gone. It only ever happened once over a disciples lifetime. We have to be careful in how we change things around.

  • @discipleofthemessiah8652

    @discipleofthemessiah8652

    3 жыл бұрын

    I disagree. It was nothing 2 do with graduation or the disciple becoming the rabbi. It was strictly a propitiation ceremony (if we choose 2 use the word ceremony. The only thing it represents is the amazing sacrifice of our Saviour. The Body and the Blood. It doesn’t signify anything about us or anyone becoming rabbis. In fact I would argue strictly speaking the disciples only became qualified 2 teach after they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Before this they didn’t have the understanding or capacity 2 teach anyone anything. Remember just a couple of hours after this they abandoned the Lord because they were all still in their flesh. Holy Communion is only about the sacrifice of Jesus. Nothing 2 do with graduation

    @@discipleofthemessiah8652 The communion ceremony was around for a couple thousand years before Christ was born. When Messiah had this ceremony with his disciples he was letting them know that it will be up to them to carry on the work. It was at this time that they were made apostles. You guys need to research this kind of thing before you start selling people on something you made up at the spur of the moment, if you want to know the true history of the communion ceremony, ask any Jewish Rabbi in your area. The communion that we know today was started by the Catholic church and they really didn't understand it much because rarely ever asked a Hebrew about anything in those days.

    @@scottfuller1711 the only Communion that matters is Jesus telling us that it represents His Body and Blood. All things before that were just a shadow or sort of Christ preparing us for Him. Everything is about Him. Passover was also celebrated for hundreds of years before Christ came, but it was preparation for Jesus. The importance of Communion 2day is Christ and His sacrifice for us. That is the be all and the end all. Doesn’t matter what it may have represented before.

    @@scottfuller1711 if someone wanted 2 research what it used 2 represent and the Jewish people did it and for what purpose, maybe as a Bible study or just 2 know more that’s great. But as far as the purpose of Communion after Jesus first coming, nothing supersedes His words. The Communion is 2 be taken 2 remember Christ. Of course there is Communion as the body of Christ when we all take part the foremost reason is Communion with Christ Himself and in His own words, 2 remember Him

    This is why I do not like using any translation of the Bible other than king James or new king James I found many different discrepancies in the new living translation here is one now. Exodus 12 verses 14 through 15. Uses the word yeast. The king James version uses the word Leviner. There are many different types of leavens, aside from only being yeast, examples are baking soda baking powder salt or even eggs could be considered a leaven. If you’re trying to rid Your house of all unleavened products then you would need to know that yeast is not your only problem, this is why some Jewish people sell their house for a dollar to a gentile friend and then after the festivities buy their house back because it’s too hard to get all these products out of their home during the festival. I love your channel and I’m not here to criticize we are learning together. A lot of people don’t realize that the new living translation has a lot of discrepancies in it.

    Have you tried the ESV. I like that one because it's not overly water down like some of the other translations. But I am with you I love the King James. When I got the Holy Ghost the devil was trying to convince me That i hadn't. I heard God said to me open my Bible and let me show you what I have done. I never really understood it retained anything I read and God proved I recieved the Holy Ghost by my new understanding of His Word that He removed the veil from my eyes.

    @@renza873 I totally disagree with the king James version been not the most accurate. I use an app that lets you put different translation side-by-side including Hebrew and Aramaic. It was the Holy Spirit who told me that the words in the living Bible were in accurate. I don’t make a move without the Holy Spirit. People study differently I tend to go deeper into what God is telling me in the way that I like to look at the history and their lifestyle in Jesus‘s time of living. That is why the meaning of the words are important to me. We discover deeper meaning if we look at all the areas of a word. Don’t think for a minute that I don’t walk hand-in-hand with the Holy Spirit. One person could read that scripture and be satisfied with the word yeast, then you have a different person who wants to please God and follow Him precisely. In this aspect the word yeast will not suffice. The word Leviner is a whole different aspect than yeast. And there are a lot of these throughout the Bible. So therefore everyone has a different relationship with God and the Holy Spirit.
