I think it's because attractivity is often linked with sex as the "aim" of it (I'm oversimplying it but it's basically this). Sex for pleasure, not reproduction; so basically sexual liberation in society as a whole so also in the arts, for example music. Sexual liberation comes in the same era as a decline in religious education in general: religion often forbids pleasure sex, masturbation, and prefers humility, altruism, in other words the opposite of all forms of what is now self-confidence, where it's normalized to simply say that you love yourself, think you're beautiful, and so on. This is obviously the result of a change in societal values, so we tend to show disrespect in the name of God out of spite, because of what, in our minds, religions represent (prohibitions that humans sometimes find hard to put faith in). I don't know if this answers your question, I just thought it was an interesting one and wanted to share my thoughts!
