Up here in Canada I got an '05 Ion with 303,000KM (188,000 miles). She still goes strong and I think I can still get more miles on her, I'm very happy with it. It isn't the flashiest but she does the job very well. There is no shame in an older car. Every time I see an older car drive by, I don't think "What a shitbox" I have respect for the guy or woman because they are saving a lot. Keep your saturn my brothers and sisters!

I got my '03 for free from a frustrated young woman. It was a no start. I have no special code equipment. In a dream I thought it could be the IGNITION CONTROL MUDULE. I GOT ONE AT A JUNK YARD FOR $40. ITS BEEN MY DAILY DRIVER UP UNTIL I GOT MY 1998 HONDA CIVIC FOR FREE - MY SUMMER DRIVER. SATURN IS MY WINTER DRIVER. BOTH HAVE 220,000 MILES ON THEM. Both are excellent.

Of course I can't find it now but a cheap computer part turned out to be the problem in a no-start XJ Cherokee. He took it off the previous owners' hands for all of $500 like 5 years ago and that Jeep's still going like the Energizer Bunny!

Saturn ION 3 has a white gauge cluster, my '05 Saturn ION 2 has a sunroof, power windows, locks,. spoiler, etc., but a black cluster. 16" tires on were available on the ION 3

Running across this makes me miss my Ion. Had a 5-speed '07 Ion 2. Once I got used to the gauges in the center I loved them. Handled great and was really good on gas. It was a good car until I broke the transmission, which was totally my fault. Had 240k miles on it, half of which from me, so needless to say it took a bit of abuse quite well. I find it very hard not to "play around" when having a manual, even if the car is nowhere near "fast."

I have a 2007 ion 2, it’s a great deal buying a reliable car that save you money in all. I improved the look of my car well. It’s great car, almost 200,000! Miles and running strong. It’s a shame that GM and ressesion had to ruin this brand. It probably would of been one of the best.

Agreed Carlos, they are awesome cars especially for the money! What killed the Saturn was it was to expensive to build. Plastic is made from petroleum and it proved to expensive to manufacture. Yes sad we lost another American car brand.

Ladies and gentlemen, if you see my message, I give you great advice. These cars or any Saturn brand car are not the best on the market, but don't forget that under the plastic there is a metal cage.So they are completely non-plausible They are only covered on the outside But that's a good point for gasoline economy. And it is anti-shock And another best option is that they are not expensive to maintain. Another good option is that they will take you anywhere, it is just a matter of maintaining It is better to have a car than a new one because today's cars are super expensive and it is not worth it because later you also get the pros.Better to have a Saturn. I have 5 and I am happy with them and they are cheap.

Yes but it’s the 2.2 IL4 soooo I mean. And the Redline literally just comes with a smaller motor and a supercharger it’s not really anything special in terms of performance. It was outclassed in a matter of a year or so, the only thing it really put to shame was the SRT4 that came out the same year.

The First and Second Generation Saturn SL and SC's are unique! Other GM parts are incompatible with them. Even the transmissions. If you have a SOHC engine, you have to use the tranny for that specific engine. In other words, you cannot and should not swap a tranny for a SOHC with a tranny for a DOHC! A mechanic accidentally did and it was a mess!!!😷😟😱

The plastic is facade not structure, it does not effect safety whatsoever. This is built on a space frame like newer Corvettes or the Audi A8. Most modern cars are semi-monocoques(unibodies) so the exterior panels are structural, but this car and it's predecessor, the S-series, are quite different.
