Not at all, Bear Mcreary demolished anything else that was released this year. Have you heard how he changed the main theme of God of War Ragnarok to make it sound more epic? How is that even possible when it was already so epic. Also have you heard blood upon the snow ft Hozier?

@@hakangokhan9434 I don't agree with what you're saying. Gow has no catchy music other than the main theme and Blood Upon The Snow. Plague Tale's soundtrack is more better and meaningful. Bear McCreary won this award thanks to his popularity. In our opinion, the real owner of this award is Olivier Deriviere. Also, is your sense of good music just about epic?

It hits way differently when you played the game. My ex heard it one day while on the phone with me. Then shrugged it off as "pretty good". Couple of weeks later she played both games back to back while sick at home. Called me at 3 am bawling her eyes out and told me "now i know what you mean about spectacular and elevating the game". Maybe it's that. But i agree. Should have won.

If we're judging just for the music, Raindrops in the Flood and GoWR theme was prob the best. This game has steep competition. I do think Amicia's voice actress should have won best voice actress though, hands down.

I am upset that this game did not win the Best Music award. GOW's music isn't bad but it's not memorable except for the main theme. A Plague Tale's soundtrack delivered much more.

This is my favorite main theme from any piece of entertainment(game or music). I have never seen anything like it before, yes the vocals are great, and the instruments are too, but the music is much deeper than that because it's a poem of love between 2 siblings. It connects with the player in a very intimate manner because we know these 2 people so well and we understand the feelings they're expressing to each. And the fact that it uses symbolism of the sun and the moon from the game, which lots of players seems to have missed, makes it more beautiful. I have huge appreciation for the composer for being able to write something that can invoke such strong emotions in those who hear it, and its also shows the amount of love that's been put into this theme and every other track of the game.

@@mish3l456 Completely unexpected for me. I thought Hugo, Amica, and Lucas would reach a remote land where they are at peace, living and growing up. Unfortunately there were no happy endings here. I didn't cry, I rarely do, but once I figured out we had to kill Hugo, I was like "Awww nooooooo". Amicia crying putting a rock in her sling and charging up slower than normal was deep, or her screaming "I CAN'T!" on the Lucas ending if you didn't kill Hugo in time, you could feel her pain.

Sorry for The Game Awards Mr. Olivier. But for the fans you'll always be the winner for best Music

2:14 when that played at the part (you know when). I bawled my eyes out.

I will listen to it for the rest of my life. It is a masterpiece and it accompanied me through this incredible journey. I will never forget this game. I will always have love for Amicia and Hugo, and I won't let it be forgotten.

This song fits the game incredibly well. It's like a song of Amicia's heart, lonely and wounded and filled with sorrow but still eager for light. And as a classical and choir music enthusiast, I can't imagine other kind of music to sound in APT. I can feel it was inspired by classical choral music, and it's amazing. It wraps the story so good and fills you with that strange, out of this world feeling, like you're touching something really special and sacred. I don't know if it makes sense lol. What I'm trying to say is that you created really great, touching music, that keeps the rich tradition of classical music from the past and the present.

Magnificent and extraordinary at the same time. I just can't stop crying when I listen this music.

This soundtrack is one of the best musical masterpieces I have ever had the honor of listening to. I have not stopped listening and will not stop listening. Brilliant and breathtaking!

i was chilled when they announced this music in award..and seeing gow gets the award..whoever wins this award..this music will be forever in hearts of gamers and its depression with it

Some games like TLOU 2 and this very one, make me cry a lot… but damn, this song alone makes me cry instantly, it’s such a masterpiece… also, it brings me memories of both the rollercoaster of feelings I had playing it, and also reminds me of a close family member, a cousin, nearly a brother, whose history kiiinda matches this one… he died of an incurable disease over a year ago, and he did felt like a burden to those around, despite not being at all. I remember I beat this game not long after he passed, one or two weeks later if I’m not wrong, and the ending, it completely tore me apart because of that. If not the one best game (TLOU2 and RDR2 are competing for it) it’s easily one of the best games I’ve played in my whole life, has meaning to me and I’ll never get tired of replaying it from time to time.

A legendary song to a legendary journey this game took us all on. Both will stay in my memory and heart, and with blind optimism and hope, I will wait for the next chapter of this amazing experience. Amicia and Hugo, they fought and they held, always. Never forgotten.

Plague Tale deserved the best OST award. GoW was... fine. I get the feeling the reward was given to GoW purely out of popularity, it didn't do anything interesting unlike you did. PT will always be the winner in my heart.

Très sincèrement, c’est probablement l’une (si ce n’est) la plus belle OST de jeux vidéo qu’il m’est été donné d’entendre. À chaque fois que je l’entends, je ressens toujours cette pointe au cœur en pensant au destin de ces personnages. C’est toujours plaisir à écouter.

Plus, during the game for most part, Amicia could clearly experience that in general everyone around them was fending for themselves not giving 2nd glimpse for others. Why shouldn't she do the same for herself and her little brother? Finally: she did what had to be done. That's all that counts.

I was wondering of playing in French, but after 1st game I fell in love with English voices so much, that I couldn't switch lang in the second one. Now I'm learning French to replay REQUIEM with some good new experience. I hope)

The music and score for A Plague Tale Requiem is so good and hauntingly beautiful - it deserves to win best music. This game is the best and game of the year in my view. The narrative, music, cinematography, character design etc. are top-notch. Thank you for your work and attention to details with the composer walkthrough which I enjoy, and thank you Asobo for giving us great games like Plague Tale series!

Awards or not. The music enhanced the whole gaming experience. Not my typical genre, but the music had drawn me into it. Have not regretted it in the least.

You didn't win award but you won of our hearts. i finished part 1 and i will finish part 2 for that music.

There was such a case when I was playing the game. It’s already 5-6 o’clock in the morning, I decide to take a break in the passage. And when I go to the main menu, this music inspires me to continue playing. And if it weren’t for dawn already outside, I would really do it. I don’t remember such cases before, so I decided to write about it.

This is a overdue subscription from China. A Plague Tale series had also got a great number of fans in China, your music was a great contribution to the games. Every time I listen to A Plague Tale Requiem my eyes would be watered for a long time even I finished playing it 5 months ago. The game was sold in a struggling time since the world was caught in another plague of COVID-19, and Chinese suffered a lot in this pandemic, different people have the similar memory of the struggling time. Thank you, Mr Deriviere, thanks for your excellent music work. We all feel that TGA should reward you but sadly they didn't.

Наградораздаватели просто в игру не играли. Все композиции пробирают насквозь когда ты видишь что происходит с персонажами, когда принимаешь участие, пытаешься разобраться о чем музыка и что она значит. история персонажей не доводила бы до слёз фанатов без этой музыки, так же как и музыка не доводила бы до слёз фанатов без сюжета игры.

Innocence and Requiem are gems in the gaming industry and i am really glad that Requiem got a lot of attention through critics and the game awards

Just finished Requiem here.. Absolutely devastated. While I can't vouch for games to intentionally wreck my emotion (such as tlou or cyberpunk), I can say that the Plague Tale whole story is well told.

Holding back tears every time I listen to it. What a masterpiece on it's own, and yet, it's insane how beautifully it fits to the game.

Hopefully it will be live-action one day ( such amazing story game ❤)

I love this track so much, but 1:48-2:12 is my favorite part. It gave me always chills. Olivier Deriviere, you did an amazing job, creating this great soundtrack. You are the winner for us ♥

J’ai fini le jeu avant-hier au soir. La fin m’a vraiment bouleversé, je ne m’attendais pas à ça. Je ne voulais pas pleurer devant ma femme parce que ça paraît stupide de s’émouvoir autant pour un jeu vidéo mais j’en ai eu la gorge serrée toute la soirée. Le destin de ces personnages m’ont hanté jusque dans la nuit et j’en ai été déprimé toute la journée qui a suivi. Mais c’est pour ce genre d’expérience que j’aime autant les jeux narratifs... Réentendre ce thème, magnifique, me donne des frissons. L’histoire comme la bande-son sont des chef-d’œuvres. Chapeau bas à vous M. Deriviere.

This game is special to me in ways I cannot put in a few words. The story, the music, the design, the charaters... People can actually relate to certain small bits... It's a fascinating game. The slowed version of the main theme (specifically the part where Lucas hugs Amicia as he helps her stand up towards the end of the game in Chapter 16) with the choir it's so beautiful 🤩.

Thank you so much for this! I don't speak French so I didn't understand the lyrics... now that I know it, it adds another layer of beauty to everything... I was very disappointed by the game awards.. but I guess competing against games like God of war and Elden ring is extremely tough.. (almost unfair..) As much as I enjoyed Elden ring I loved A Plague tale requiem much more... for me personally this IS the game of the year and an experience I will never forget!
