Hugo's condition is getting worse physically, but Amicia's condition is worsening mentally. The stress of having to deal with the horde of plagued rats and having to kill is getting to her. But I had learned an important lesson long ago... The ability to fight and kill doesn't naturally come with enjoying fighting and killing. If it's unavoidable, pleasure is not mandatory.

I never bought this sequel since my PC is too old. This is on another level, their "rat-tech", the environments and atmosphere.....just pure terror.

I've thought this while watching the first game but, they could tell me A Plague Tale is set in Warhammer Fantasy's Empire during a war with the Skaven and I'd believe it if I didn't know better. And that part in the ditch filled with blood and gust was disgusting, I'm impressed Amicia and Lucas didn't puke their souls there.

Is there any way to save the herbalist? Like throwing ignifer at their feet, then headshotting the soldier?

Actually yes, there are some shenanigans you might do to save the herbalist. However, the game clearly doesn't expect you to save him. If you do save him, the herbalist just stands there doing nothing and you can't talk to him or interact with him in any way :)

I was able to save him by following these steps: douse off the fire by the cart (right of the main road), light the torch to the left of the gate the herbalist and the 2 guards come from, and douse off the torches of both guards shortly after they come through the gate. It didn't work consistently for me, though.

Dissapointing that they used the same character model, even the same face multiple times with the guards. I think you killed the same guy 5+ times!

This is very common in many games, even games with much bigger budgets than this one. It doesn't bother me, but I can understand it can negatively impact the immersion in a game for some people :)
