A video of me giving an impromptu performance rendition of "Oh better far to live and die..." (or, "The Pirate King Song") from Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance." Cinderella's step-sister, Drizella, asked me if I was a pirate, which I associated with my yellow-striped sleeveless T, which one of my really good friends also owns, and we joked we would wear all throughout our rehearsal process for a previous production of "The Pirates of Penzance" we did together where he was Samuel and I was the Pirate King. That lasted as long (or shortly) as it took for the BO factor to kick in. That was a mouthful and what do you care? Anyway, my father proceeded to show Drizella a picture of me in my Pirate King costume. More joking ensued and one thing led to another and Cinderella's step-mother joined the fray and they pulled out chairs in front of me, awaiting my song. So I sang the Pirate King song with gusto in the middle of the crowded 1900 Park Fare Restaurant at the Grand Floridian in Disney World, and became known as "Gaston-Voiced Man" for the rest of the evening. Cinderella's stepsisters competed for my affections for the rest of the night.
This clip is from my father's camera and got cut off because it ran out of memory. There is a small chance I will come across a longer version of the video if one of the other video-taping vacationers witness to this odd spectacle finds a way to send me the video with the contact information I gave them. But I'm not staking my life on that entirely. We'll see...
