Boy I remember when you could get this stuff cheap back in the 1980s. My entire apartment was decorated like this back then. I still am obsessed with mid century, but more Danish modern. Today it’s unbelievably expensive to collect this period now. (At least in LA) She must have deep pockets to have acquired so much at a young age. I admire her passion. What a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing 😄

I think she and her hubby have been collecting for some time. They go all around the US looking for this stuff and they fix it up. They have a true passion for it. Some of it they resell. They just moved into a new, larger home and I'm hoping to do a follow up video soon. Thanks for watching.

That’s exactly how it started for me. My grandmother’s house was a literal time capsule. It was purchased and furnished in 1957, and stayed that way until 1994 when she passed. When I was little, I was always fascinated with all the stuff she had that was very colorful and uniquely shaped! Then later, i would learn that it was atomic/space age!
Beautiful love it that clock and shadow boxes and Lucie purses also the pyrex awesome

I agree!!
The mid-century modern designs are interesting. Some homes built that way execute the design better than others. I have noticed that many of them resemble an elementary or middle school built during the period, or a suburban shopping center built in that time, some with bland institutional colors. The A-frame is probably my favorite MCM plan.
Some of those antique shops or "malls" I've been to remind me of Sanford & Son, and that theme song starts playing in my head. Others actually have interesting period stuff.
I bet she has some awesome Christmas decorations! I love vintage, kitchy Krismas! ;-)

(This is Tom, not Sandra.) I sure hope she, the owner and her husband, have a mega insurance policy on all of these household items in case of theft or whatever. I also hope that they have a great sprinkler system installed in their home just in case, Heaven forbid, they were to ever have a house fire in the future, due to lightning or an electrical malfunction. Thank you for this great tour. Much good luck to this couple in their collecting of more classic '50's and '60's items for this fantastic home!!!! (Tom)

I love atomic 50s era and decor but I do think it looks unfortunate with all the clutter because it almost looks more like an antique shop rather than a legit home from the 50s. But she definitely has some beautiful pieces.

If I were to buy a house, I would possibly decorate it a bit like the Formans' house on That 70s Show. But not overdo it to where it looks so busy, like it's trying too hard.

That chair was made in 1927 / NOT the atomic era ? Beyond creepy & weird

They did NOT have BATTERY clocks back in the '50s, that starburst clock would have had an electric CORD running down the wall to the OUTLET.

Do you think you'll be ok?
i love all the vintage but i would feel a bit like a hoarder with alll that piled up everywhere. a home didnt have all that stuff out like that in the mid century or before. it looks like a vintage shop. is thats how they live or did they take everything out to display for the video? i have a few small collections but i switch them out with the seasons, esp my artwork. a little goes along way.

Fun to see everything , but living like that would be stressful. I love collecting, but your home has to be welcoming...to you and others.
This is cool but its more of a Museum than a 50s home, Too many pieces in one area.
