Hey is the British passport used for comparing the coat of arms in the video a real one? It kinda looks like a “toy” passport that I got online that’s actually a notebook...

Great video. Do you happen to know if there's an exact year when the standardization to today's size passports began? I know that we in Croatia after independence got the modern size, while yugoslavian passports up to 1991 retained the larger size? Btw bigger passports are cooler in my opinion.

I remember coming across a ICAO doc during research on setting the size. Can't remember which year it was from though.

@@PassportPlanet I think it was the mid to late 80s, although there were examples of larger format passports being issued in the 90s as well. One I can think of is Austria, where the last non eu passport (the green one) was issued in the larger format until 1996.

Great video! Can Canadians born before 1949 really get British citizenship to this day? I thought they lost that in 1949

You may need to show you have closed connections with the UK, such as father was born in the UK etc.

@@chubbyboy9189That’s how I was born with my British citizenship, despite being born in Canada. But I don’t think it’s applicable to OP’s question. OP, I think you’re right. I think they still are citizens if they were born before 1949

2:05 That reminds me Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the pockets of sigarettes it is written that "smoking kills" in 3 languages: bosnian, croatian and serbian. Problem is... they are the same language! LOL The only difference is that serbian is written with cyrillic alfabet rather than latin.

Some of this European language 'translations' are absolutely stupid. Especially when they set the rules so rigid. The government genuinely believes no English speaker can understand "passeport" or French can understand "passport"

Is a Canadian still a commonwealth citizen ?I am raising this question is because commonwealth citizens can obtain UK Citizenship with a shorter residency requirement.
