A Normal Day in an Alternate Timeline | Arma 3 Rome Never Fell
Ойындар
After the successful conquest of the Sea Kingdom of Hawaii and progression of the pacific campaign by the LXXIV Legion there has been troubling news from the Asian continent. It appears that the Nexus Shogunate of Japan has begun their long-anticipated invasion of the Neo-Han Dynasty, though a few years earlier than predicted. This puts supply lines in peril as war materials have been using Han ports for transit. Cohort Magistrates Ignis is tasked with stabilizing the Han front while negotiations for the use of ports begin with the Shogunate. (This sounds like the ramblings of a mad man)

I am in awe at the power of Desrat.
I’ve once again subjected Ignis to my deranged alternate history schemes and I have few regrets. (Besides all the kit bashed mods wanting to explode our server at every chance it gets). Next time we’re fighting the Aztecs on the moon or something. (Also as been aptly pointed about the intro, the samurai did historically have guns so I amend that to "samurai with machine guns". c:)

Honestly, Rome vs. Samurai is a pretty awesome concept. Though you could argue back then it would've been more the Byzantine Romans vs the Samurai, wondering how the conflict would go if Rome had survived long enough to advance their tactics to the medieval era would've been interesting.

The worst thing Jay can do to a squad is acknowledge their existence because then they immediately get drawn into his sphere of chaos and targeted
I really love this Modern Rome style game going on here. It's so cool and seeing the utter carnage going on as they fight against Samurai with guns. This entire scenario and the chaos it creates as a result is so awesome!

wanna hear a joke? Saying samurai with guns is like saying PIN number
Fun fact: The way to defeat samurai taught to the regular soldier was quite literally overwhelming numbers. While the way to defeat a medieval knight (specifically germanic or heavy cavalry which were often so heavily armored that they were near impossible to harm with the standard line infantry short sword and spear/pike) was hit to them in the head with the pommel of your sword until they hopefully stop moving and pray to God they don't become conscious enough to fight back (or just kill you before you can get close enough)

Another strategy for fighting knights was just to grapple them and hope you can get a knife in the armpit or eyeslit
@benjaminparent4115

I mean sure quantity is a good way to defeat your opponent when you don't have quality. But heavy cavalry got wrecked once countries were able to more reliably field organised infantry that wouldn't break formation at the first charge, the pike square is what brought the end of frontal heavy cavalry charge during the late middle age. So I personally would say that that pikes and long spear are more than enough to arm a knight. And even heavy cavalry during antiquity tended to flank organised formation like phalanx rather than charge the front. That's where the hammer and anvil strategy come from.

5:40 props to desrat that 1v4 was actually pretty dang impressive!!!!
In the first bit of this video before rubix is reduced to atoms from a grenade, I can see him happily strolling down a trench as bullets and artillery whizzes and explodes around him, a cup of coffee in one hand and a gun in the other
Yay! More future Romans! I loved the first video and hope to see more from this. The alternate history/universe y’all have made with this is fun.
'They're haunting me.' - Rubix thinking about his warcrimes in Gaul amid mortar and gunfire
*> Machinegun in a superior fighting position:* **Exists** *> Maru, with a sword:* And I took exception to that. c:
This was such a fun op, had a blast the whole time!
Romogus should be hidden in every Rome Never Fell video.
"they`re powerless without their heads!" just brings to mind that japanese folklore has disembodied heads (wether man or animal) as a type of yokai, while europe has headless monsters, like the medival artistic depiction of giants having no head and a face on their chest, also, the headless horsemen.
*Truck used battering ram* *Shinobi used deflect slash. It was super effective*
I like how Rome making it into the modern day is somehow one of the more unbelievable sci-fi universes.
Jay, just wanted to comment and say that you're my favorite content creator on KZread right now. Every video you post leaves me in tears with laughter, and there's no other KZreadr whose videos I look forward to more. Your editing, friends, and your reactions to the absolute batshit insanity that Ignis gets into are incredible. Thank you for all the laughs, and I hope you continue to have a good year!
Man Desrat needs to get some awards with that quad-gladius kill!
4:12 he studied the blade so hard he parried a freaking truck.
4:30 "Chowder this wholesome animated found family comedy got me questioning my loyalty to Rome." 4:31 The appropriate response. 8:10 I think that's a cool little detail to add. Even silly and otherwise insane settings can feel alive from little consistencies like that.
8:08 A neat fun fact followed by proclamations of imminent doom! My favorite!
Ok, we gonna talk about Desrat casually killing four combatants at the same time in melee combat? Like give this man a medal!

I completely understood the description briefing.
I said it on the last video, and I will say it on this one. I really love this concept, a sort of story built around the absolute chaos that is these operations. Now I really want to see a continuation to the eventual Fall of Rome. Get us a tragedy fit for the ages!
The fact that Jay doesn't even know what the hell happened makes so much more enjoyable
The assault rifles sound effects are off the hook, every time they're fired it sounds absolutely glorious
The stoppage of footage for us to think about what the object on the screen was, and then realizing it was a mortar right before the video started again was great.

I feel like this is probably a pretty accurate visual representation of what the Corporate Wars in the Cyberpunk franchise looked like.
Honestly I feel like the Ignis Corp intro is what plays everytime I wake up in the morning
"Howdy! Glory to Rome!" is the most cursed alternate timeline sentence because it implies Roman Texas.
All the Ignis stuff I've watched over the last we while got a parody of twisted sister rattling around my mind, I'm thinking "we're not gonna make it!"
Shoutout to Desrat, taking on a whole house with nothing but a gladius!

Japan vs Rome in many ways is similar to the First Punic War. The Japanese like the Carthaginians are a naval people while Rome a predominantly land power. While the Roman Navy did eventually win the attritional contest in the Punic Wars, afterwards in the Era of Pax Romana and Mare Nostrum the Roman navy became little more than an anti-piracy force and and a taxi service for the Legions, so it is likely Japan would also have the advantage on the sea after the Roman Navy atrophied. For Japan to win it needs to successfully leverage its naval dominance and dictate the time and place of battles and campaigns to make the most use of limited resources, while Rome needs to do what it did to the Carthaginians and bring its economic, manpower, and resource superiority to bear to grind down the Nexus Shogunate in a war of attrition.

'Jamsheed Energy' I lost my shit
I really liked the fact about the walled crown. To show this, I would like to share a Roman fact in return. A Triumph was the biggest celebration a victorious general could get. They would parade down the main road in Rome, show off their army, the spoils of war, important war prisoners, throw gold to the crowd, and finish by offering a sacrifice to Mars. Because Rome also wanted people to be somewhat humble, there was also a guy standing next to the general who’s job was to just say stuff like, “You’re going to die and none of this will matter when that happens.”
desrat going berserk and killing a room full of samurai was awesome
R.I.P. Jamsheed.
