A Night in the Life of a Red Cross Disaster Volunteer
Sean Uyeda is a Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) captain, one of the many critical Red Cross volunteers who answers the call for help 24/7 when disasters large and small strike. Most of these disasters are home fires - in fact, the Red Cross responds to nearly 66,000 disasters every year in the U.S., and most of those are home fires. Find out more about this rewarding volunteer opportunity and whether it's right for you.
Filming and production of this video was graciously donated by Bosho Creative Co. Music by A Dog in the Rain.

I have been a DAT responder for almost 35 years!
Many thanks to Sean and the many other Red Cross volunteers and other VOADs that assisted us with sheltering and case work of over 100 displaced seniors after an April fire. Many seniors were Access and Functional Needs. Truly amazing work by ARC that I will be forever thankful for.

You're so right, Sean. Which is why, I continue to educate people about the mission of the ARC. Kudos to you, bud.
This video helped solidify my decision to join the Red Cross DAT
