Nice review, i have the D8 and i must agree that the key programming is awesome! But i also have the Topdon Phoenix plus, and it's hands down better than the D8 when it comes to diagnostic. The bottom line is that the D8 is still good. For the price of the launch it's hard to beat with all the functions it offers!

I recently got the x431 dyno and I have the d8bt. I definitely like the xtool much better. I feel like launch's layout is too clunky and too many prompts. The xtool d8bt is easier to use and faster overall as well. I made 2 keys today on both tools and the xtool was again far faster and easier to use while making keys. I did notice the launch has a few more special functions that the xtool doesnt have though. Just my opinion on these 2.

I believe the misfire data on the xtool will be found under live data reading i didnt see you check there but thats where mines is at

I did check under live data but I didn't find it on this Jeep/Chrysler. Some makes and models do have misfire data in the live data but apparently not Jeep/Chrysler products.

Thanks for the demonstration! Always learn something, and the heads up on the launch sale tomorrow! I thought the obd2 scan tool rabbit hole was endless, then I went down the study bible rabbit hole, didn’t realize there were so many translations and different types of study bibles , I got me a good KJV study bible for 20 bucks at half price books in Dallas, use it every day !

KJV is the best.

My Zurich zr15s also allows me to go directly to freeze frame from the fault code list. Obviously it's not the same category of capability as this and other comparable units, but it's pretty capable and a good choice for someone no longer in the trade professionally and not able to justify the cost of the more capable machines.

I just picked up the CRP919EBT for $439 yesterday on Amazon, their best price yet. I cant wait to use it for my car tomorrow thats throwing a mess of codes.

X431tool have it for $399 since last year

It will program keys for some year makes and models but it will not pull pin codes .

D8S can also graph misfires in real time AND record it. All under live data. Not all cars support livedata misfires.
