A NEW WAY OF AQUASCAPING LARGE AQUARIUMS WITH DRYROCK

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Epoxy sticks and superglue are not necessarily the best choice when aquascaping larger aquariums. This video details the use of thickened 2 part BoteCote Epoxy , and polyurethane spray foam, to fix dry rocks in place.

    Very kind Carl. I do feel that especially the reef hobby is stuck in the mud, so to speak. Obsession with smart testers and the latest generation Radion, isn’t exactly fostering new ideas in reef display , reef biotopes, fish breeding advances and extending new ground in captive husbandry. Still, who am I to tell someone how to enjoy their hobby!!

    It's looking really good Adam! as everyone else I'm really looking forward to seeing it finished but with a job like this the best thing is patience, take your time and think about it, a lot of people will race in and then be upset when it's to late to change, the waterline and floating corals look really good and you have seemed to overcome the dead spots with the pipe, you have now created another habitat around the island for invertebrates and algae around the island that should look really cool when established along the waterline, Great job!

My biggest 75 gallon brackish is my marine estuary that im slowly going to make full marine. I have red and green scatts mono angel's ball mollys and figure 8 puffers. Its probably one of my favorites out of 20 aquariums.

    The main shrub will be Carissa macrocarpa (Desert Star). I was originally just thinking of going with just the one plant variety, and clipping it into a bun shape. But the more I look at the island pictures, the more I see many plant species, including Pandanus, palms, what looks like Dracaena, and weird cascading plants. What do you think?

  • @jonathankool1997

    @jonathankool1997

    @@australianaquarist I like the C. Macrocarpa choice, I think you could try some papyrus also (should deal with even salt levels should that happen) even some of the rainforest arboreal orchids and Tillandsia air plants (could place some on some branches up above the base or even other plants, maybe even place in a dead tree as a foundation for these plants) even that Tillandsia usneoides may look awesome among the plants. All your choices seem pretty damn good to at least give a crack. There are a few places that list the plant species of the Palau islands if you ever are curious. Also there is one marine supplier that gets red mangroves (Rhizophora Mangle) Athleas they did a few years back. May be worth a shot looking?
