as a bass fisherman, I can say with relative certainty that the first bass you caught is called a meanmouth, which is a hybrid between a smallmouth and a spot. congratulations on the new species.

No one knows the exact day hour /But we can see the signs events all around us. That bass wasn't a pure spotted bass I don't think. It was a mix of a spot/large or smallie. Now that 2nd one you caught was a full blown spot. Tons of fun to catch, aggressive dudes.

I grew up on current river, and we use to catch a mix bass of spotted and lagermouth. We always called Kentucky bass

I love fishing. Sadly, haven't been on an actual fishing 'trip' since '79, the day before leaving for basic training, with my dad and grandfather. They're both long gone, it really brings the mortality issue into focus. Mind wonderinga bit......indirect point, is don't keep putting things off like I have. Fish, ride, walk, have dinner, whatever, with friends and loved ones now. Used to fish a lot when younger, got busy, military service, etc. Just never made the time. There'd always be 'tomorrow '. Not always true. Enjoy your life. There's so much out there. Not preaching, just speaking from experience.

I'm more impressed with your production skills than your fishing. Multiple camera angles, drone footage and the soundtrack keeps your videos consistently interesting. It really doesn't matter if you catch a fish or not. of course we all enjoy it when you do. I applaud your creativity and hope continued success.

The rabbits foot is from a bird of prey eating dinner. Also after a lot of context clues and searching I found the location. And considering there's a waste water treatment plant at the top of the hill from the pit, I'm gonna guess that's where the water is added back into the river.

Can’t beat a Pfluger reel. The are the best, and well priced. I use Pfluger spinning reels alone, Lews Baitcast reels, and for fly fishing Hardy and Orvis click pawl reels. It’s all I’ll ever use. Loved the video man! Appreciate it!

That fishing spot looks like a neat little find. Pretty good variety of species to fish for. Congrats on the spotted bass. The first one does look like some kind of hybrid though. The colors looked more like a smallmouth but it was shaped more like a spotted bass. Nice fish all the same. You must be enjoying the new e bike, sure does come in handy!

Best fishing channel hands down thank you

You uploaded this about the same time I was on the bank of a small lake after work. Downpour cleared up before I left work and I packed it up when it started raining again. And you are right.. what's a fishing adventure without catching a stick fish 😆 I just had a small trout or bass follow a soft paddle tail into the shallows then turn tail. I need to find some better spots for the drive home from work lol

That first fish could possibly be a smallmouth/spotted bass hybrid. The green color without the dark stripe, plus the red eyes, are unusual for a spotted bass.

Always enjoyed fishing, was never very good at it. Hadn't had a line in the water since 2014 but recently found your channel and it rekindled my love for it. I am a complete amateur though, do you have any videos up on how to rig different ways for top or bottom fishing, or what to use when?

I like to go with a simple float rig if I'm fishing the top. Just a weighted foam float, a single split shot, and a baited hook. For bottom fishing, a Carolina rig works pretty well. Basically an egg sinker on your main line, tied to a barrel swivel, then a leader with a baited hook. Hope some of that is useful. My other tip, use "gulp" minnows is live baits are not available. I have caught so many fish of different species with those. They catch everything!

I stumbled upon you channel and really like your style; from the drone shots, slo-mo and music. Plus your knowledge of fish species is an added plus. I would suggest potentially using some added safety gear (life vest) as that sloped concrete spillway looked slightly dangerous. One wrong move and take a spill, and you're there solo. And I'm sure being that you're in Alabama, you've got a firearm. Being out in weird remote places has its own pitfalls. Anyway, keep at it and thanks for being so informative.

Sweet video! As always... Thanks for pointing out the "Spotted Bass" spot on the tongue! I always thought to ID Spotted Bass by the Spot Pattern along it's side. Which was very prominent with the 2nd Bass you caught. As for the Garr man too sweet! I still wish we had Garr in California. Anyways seems that spot did fairly well, made for a good video! If I may be so bold Nick, in this video think you could of done a TAD less of the "intermissions" where you switch to the music and slow motion close ups. Perhaps filled it with more chat from you, or show some of your lure selection. I did though REALLY enjoy the ending with the "bloopers" catching the Stick and all. In any case safe to say your fishing videos are superior to my own. 618 Fishing still being my favorite channel! Ken & Lea
