I really appreciate that you’re talking about the market and product selection. Examples from this video are when you talk about the screen and stick selection. I value your opinion a lot and adding in some analysis based on objective information takes the video to the next level in my opinion. The way you did the fan curve is also great, I’ve done the same on my PC with the GPU and CPU cooler. I selected my levels based on both noise and pitch.

It’s a shame the retail price for the lower end models are so expensive. If they were sold at that $270 price or even up to $350 they would have been extremely competitive. Really hope we can see that one day. Now we just have to see if the Loki delivers on that price and quality

I'm really looking forward to your emulation video. I'd love to see how it handles N64, GameCube, and PS2 stuff (and maybe PS3?). I have a smaller handheld that is basically perfect for all of my classic (16-bit and earlier) games, but I'm looking for something that can cover the middle-ground 3D stuff that's traditionally a bit harder to run. I really like the design of this one, so it might be my go-to if it handles the games I want it to handle. Thanks for the first look. Looking forward to the rest.

Hi Taki, sorry to comment off topic, but wondering if you could point me in the direction of a handheld that might best suit my needs. The systems I want to emulate would be GB, GBA, NDS, 3DS, PS1 and maybe some light Dreamcast/PS2 stuff. All this in the smallest possible form factor. I've got a modded 3DS which is decent but it doesn't handle the Playstation stuff too well at all. Air Plus looks okay but wanting something quite a bit smaller, if possible. Probably being a little unrealistic here but would love to hear any advice.

Ayn Odin (base and pro handle 3DS emulation quite well, the odin lite currently struggles a bit with the citra opengl build. However, once citra vulkan gets more mature, also the odin lite should be better regarding 3ds as well as smaller handhelds like the rp3plus). In general, the t618 android devices are a clever choice when some compromises can be done regarding gamcube and ps2 (and 3ds with the current opengl citra build).

Mine reports as PCIe 3.0. They told me that the first batch of units will all be PCIe 4.0. As for your second question, I've never found a difference between 16GB or RAM and 32GB of RAM for the kinds of games that I play. There are very few situations (with Steam games) where you will notice the difference. If I was going to use this as a main PC, I'd probably go with 32GB because it is way easier to use more RAM outside of gaming.

I'm having a PlayStation kick myself playing my Vita 2K model constantly. But I tend to gravitate more to my Switch because of the better hardware and it's easier to charge it next to my phones with USB-C. I'm trying to figure out what is my favorite video game of all-time? Since 1997, it's been Final Fantasy VII. I beat it in 1997 and 2002 on PS1. Then 2011 on a modded PSP. Then 2019 on a Vita. I also have the game for Android and Switch. But do I really replay it? Not really. If based on replay value, it would be Ridge Racer on PSP. I would play that game a few times every year since 2005. That's 18 years playing the same game here and there to kill 15 minutes. My fav in that game is Midnight Run with 3 tracks all being night stages. Love the long straightways and wide sweeping turns. My biggest knock with Ridge Racer is the music. FF7 and Shenmue II shine in that area. Music plays a huge part with video games and nostalgia. I don't remember a good tune from Ridge Racer the way I can hum songs from Nobuo Uematsu's work. I don't find Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's music all that memorable either. So let me try to rank my top 10... 1. NBA Street Vol. 2 2. Final Fantasy VII 3. Shenmue II 4. Tekken 3 5. Ridge Racer 6. Final Fantasy X 7. Mario Kart: Double Dash!! 8. Super Mario 3D World 9. NBA 2K23 10. F-Zero GX Flip 3, Vita, and Switch contains all of my top 10 games. Perhaps up to 50 of my favorites. I was really out of the loop by the PS3/360 eras. Then by PS4, I still felt out of the loop. I'm not into first-person shooters. Not aware of the many new franchises that were released during the last 15 years or so. I would get this device if priced under $300 consistently. But I hear Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us are not great PC ports. I don't want to buy a $300-$400 handheld only to play a few games like FF7 Remake, God of War (2018), and Shenmue III only to get less than 2 hours of gameplay. Sony still remains my favorite company in gaming but Nintendo does have better replay value in their games. They have the timeless cartoony look. Nintendo established a gaming culture that Sony never really succeeded in. While Valve doesn't make their own games and lacks the personality coming from Sony and Nintendo devices. Emulation Chinese handhelds lacks even more personality. Like when you see a Vita, you know that's a Sony PlayStation product. Nintendo has their first-party exclusives that you won't find anywhere else unless you wait 10 to 20 years for it to be emulated correctly.

Then I saw this review, and specifically the size comparison with the original Air... Yep, no regrets anymore 😂

Great insight on this video as usual, Taki Udon! Love the videos. As for the device... Unfortunately, I think the temps, constant adjustments, and cost vs ROI (especially with their handhelds released less than a year ago!) is not worth it on the AyaNeo Air Plus. The GPD Win 4 and the supposed upcoming ASUS ROG ALLY handheld consoles, tacked on with AyaNeo's horrid customer service and support, make me want to skip this entirely. Maybe AyaNeo could stop throwing out so many consoles annually and put some more attention to 1-2 per year, at most. The idea of releasing these devices & varied models as frequent as a mobile phone, does not seem like a viable strategy year-after-year.

yep that's what id do, just play plugged up/while charging, already do it with every handheld i have anyways, and yep pick the settings that show the most meaningful graphics difference and set at 30fps + highest necessary tdp, 9 times out of 10 u can definitely play most games looking nice as on a ps5/series x at least if not better, but i guess these channels tend to focus on the go gamers, so it's all about battery and performance...soon the 7000 series chip are coming so it will be even better/easier to do
