A New Kind of Rotary Attachment - The Rotary 2 Pro from xTool. XTool sent me out their latest and greatest rotary attachment for the xTool D1 (it is universal for diode lasers). This thing is a beast. It engraves large objects, heavy objects, glasses with stems, mugs with handles. And the list goes on.

Good to know. I didn't even think about the angle when I bought them. Guess I have to go buy some vodka now so they don't go to waste! Cheers
Here’s something to try: Put the martini glass base in the chuck and angle it down. Then use the X axis instead of Y for the rotary. Otherwise, the X axis rails will get in the way

First off thanks for making xTool videos, that have helped a lot in getting started. I figured out engraving and cuts, but need to work on placing objects in the right place. But with the grid that is coming along. What I don't understand is the rotary tool, the manual for the attachment isn't as easy to understand as the D1. Your video helped quite a bit. But can you explain what Enduramark is and how it helps with engraving? Is it a nice to have or a must-have and what do the various colors do? TIA
@BuildDadBuild
2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say Enduramark is a "must have". However it will make much darker markings on stainless steel and you can actually etch in black on glass and ceramic. It's pricey, but a little goes a long way. And to me it pays for itself in ease of application and removal. If I were going to be selling items, I'd probably invest in some Enduramark. In my opinion you just get a better finished product. Cheers PS. Probably going to be doing a deeper dive into the RA2 Pro. They hadn't updated the software at the time of this video.
Please try a toothpick. I saw it somewhere once and cannot find it. Thanks!

Hi just got an XTool D1 you’re by far my favorite channel. Just curious while using it in some spots doesn’t etch all the way through and leaves some of the colors on coated metal like on Yeti tumblers any simple way to fix that or is it normal? Thank you 🙏🏻

Yeti tumblers and some others have a thicker coating and you might need to adjust your settings to get through it. Cheers
