You don't need DL tho to play classic YGO. Master Duel recently implemented a classic format mode (Time Wizard, if I'm not wrong) specifically for this, and it allows you to play with the proper 5 zones, main 2, no skills TCG game from the early 00's. Or you can run a few rounds with your friends in EdPro and/ Omega, with whatever banlist you want. For you to play the Chinese DL with all the new updates you need to play specifically on the Chinese server, a separeted server from global available only in China. For you to access it you might also need a Chinese registered ID and phone number, which are very difficult to get outside of China.

@@BitsuArtcrest Yah, that's is certainly an issue. Tho DL is very leaning towards P2W, all the base resources can be easily farmed through events and PvP ladder. Adding to that Konami runs quite a lot of free giveaway campaigns, so there is a constant flow of free gems & resources into the game. While in MD, the game itself is pretty f2p friendly, I always found it to be a B**** farming gems in it. Maybe it's because I don't play MD often, so I can't get to grind all the different missions, but I never felt that it was easy to get more gems. This makes farming very frustrating to me, and pushes me away from pack opening cause I never feel I have enough gems to get the cards I want. And sure there is the crafting to cover for it, but it too requires its own resources, that aren't easy to get by themselves. So its kinda becomes a struggle between the more P2W leaning DL that does let's you play f2p, and MD that is f2p but its not grind friendly.

They all run same 30 staple cards (sangan, wobf, mirror force, pot of greed, nobleman crossout...) and 10 cards that also have to be picked out as cards every third guy plays. Just beacuse you are too lazy to actually put in time to learn more about game and make a good deck doesn't mean it's bad

The amount of gold veteran players have. We could clear every box now and every other box for the next few years, 3+ times if it was 100 gold for 50 gems. No way were getting it, or if we did, the rates would be waaaaay worse (100000 gold = 10 gems)

2:44 I kinda wish for this feature in our version. "That's never gonna happen." This was probably the best way to make the game more accessible for everyone. But, nah, give Box Chips and wait years for the card pool to update to get the card you want for free. Don't get me wrong, Box Chips are good, only for high rarity cards.

It's not on DL Global tho, dude. DL China is basically a separeted server (and app overall) to DL global, and works completely differently from it. All updates to DL China are soley exclusive to it, and are NOT likely to transfer to Global directly.

I hate that their version is 10x better than ours. While we’re over here dragging our feet with a game that’s getting a bit tiresome, they’ve got modes and features that would rejuvenate our version big time….

Early gang here we gooo Edit after watching: so many of these features they could add to the global version too, stuff like buying gems with gold, which at least me and likely a lot more people too just...have a lot of lying around, because there's nothing really cool to spend it on, or the 8k life points, or a mode without skills to be more card focused (though I'd like it to add a space for pendulums if that does happen, because they're really hard to play without the zones). Stuff like daily missions would be nice too, it's true that it's been feeling a bit stagnant and the events don't have a lot of variety. Also it's just funny that they made those little duel runner style seats for them to play, that's cute

Is there a crafting system finally? I just don't see why this wasn't added to duel links as just a goat format option, lol. This is good though, clearly Konami sees the demand for older formats... This and the events they've been doing over in MD that are super popular. All they really need to do is bring in the old banlist, have a separate tab to cue for the format and bam, we're gold; I don't see the need for an entirely new game to do this... Especially if it doesn't come with upgrades, like a crafting system for that game.

The thing I do like about other duel links is that it is going post canon to the anime’s. If they would make the payoff of the ghost gal/ Dennis events be a multiverse tie in that would be sick 😊

Duel Links is a good game, I mean it. But you gotta be kidding me. We are lacking so many quality of life updates its not even funny. China has all these crazy features, why don't we have any? We dont have tag duels as a staple in the game yet. We dont have direct messaging. We dont even have duel room chats. We dont have proper crafting, a way to truly use all this damn gold we all have (could be used for cosmetics), league mode, tournament mode, the way replays work is kind of wack and outdated. The 30 damn notifications that pop up at the start every time you log into the game, and probably a bunch of other stuff I cant think of at the moment. And this is just quality of life updates not even to mention gameplay or decks that need support. I've been in this game since 2017, and I've seen it come a long way. But we need a bunch of new content and updates its not even funny.

There were a lot of app games and games in general that had to disable or remove the online chatting features just to release and/or keep them legal in EU.

it might be because of the hexagram, they're more taboo now in japan than they were when the card was first invented, but like, the word "hexagram" is literally in the card's name so they can't just change the art to a pentagram instead and call it a day. idk that would be my guess as to why they aren't including it

It's exciting tbh! It brings a lot of combo ideas from Power Of Chaos era. Can't wait for this to arrive in global!

so it's a mixture of old school YGO pre-banned list kinda with a smaller field..... okay. but it seems that they don't use the Speed Duel Limited list... Since Pot ist at 1 and Snatch steal also they kinda use the "old limited list"... which kinda makes deckbuilding "throw all limited list cards in your deck and then the rest" like pot, Graceful, snatch, MST, Storm ..... and THEN your monsters. but again: they SO focused on the Duel Kingdom Arc... a story that is now over 25 years old and newer players might not even know.

Cool but it would be good to have access to some more modern-ish cards to support certain themes. High level rituals in goat were pretty bad for example.

I was hoping this was news on the VR game.

Premature Burial to 1? Giant Trunade to 3? And they're clearly trying to focus on nostalgia bait with good cards from the Goat Format era... damn that almost makes me wanna try specifically this mode in Duel Links. The reason I dislike all of these games is the somewhat predatory microtransactions, but the money Konami makes from them is one reason why they wont just release a competent PAID game and keep it up to date with the current format for a year or two then release another game. I mean why do that when they can drip feed players of these new digital formats cards that already exist in the TCG/OCG slowly and extract every penny along the way?

This entire thing need to come for the europe and American versions, this would be exponentially better than the current version

You know what should they make. A full Goat format. You pay something like 20$ once you get all the cards and that's all. With one practice mode/vs AI and a online mode with casual, ranked and a tournament lobby. And that's it they release it once and from that point they would just need to keep the servers open. I bet it would sell in 5 millions in the first day

The conversion of gold to gems, the binder is something I personally want in duel links, and the prismatic finish on this version is hands down better than a bunch of boxes with a spinning light covering the entire art card... My question is when.

We could maybe get this stuff (albeit a more polished and reworked form of it( in 10th anniversary. We will probably get usual things in 9th anniversary bu they really need to do something special for 10th anniversary.

And is this a completely separate app to start from zero, of and huge updated where the cards, characters, and other resources get transferred in a similar fashion to when the online TCG version of Pokemon went from Pokemon TCG Online to Pokemon LIVE, where if you where player of gamer for some time, (months or years) you count transfer your stuff similar to how is posible in LINKS you go from a smart phone to a table, or PC or the other way around.

Speaking of only the new mode, indeed, what really annoyed me with legacy duels was always the skills, not the ones we can give the characters, but those shitty ones that came with the event, being able to tribute the same turn you normal, add poly to hand, shit like that made those events horrible. Having a legacy mode with only the basic skills would be amazing, or without any skills at all.

I have over 27 million gold stored on duel links because there is literally NOTHING to spend it on in game (the occasional card trader card gets released but thats eh tbh) I would love to be able to exchange my useless gold for gems... Even if it were for box chips + frequent updates to the box chip card pool (there are like 7 useful cardd in there and nothing else)

As a new player, you can't even compete against people who spend a lot of money or have been online longer so the more you have spent or the longer you have been playing gives you an unfair advantage to those who are new or can't spend as much money. I don't even play in PVP unless the rewards are good and depending on who I am playing if I see I am outclassed I just let the power player win but I don't just drop out because then you don't get the rewards offered for playing.

I always forget how many older cards are still missing from Master Duel

The really main culprit is the existence of SKILL. When skills are still generic DL is still fine even with powercreep deck. The skill now is too much.

I don't care what they do so long as my cards are transferable.

Every player wants that gold for gems conversion cause gold is ultimately useless. But the exchange rate of 100:50 would make Komoney lose money. Like even I who started Duel Links around when DSOD was released, could easily get over 7 million gems.

I play DL daily and I had no idea their version was an actual fully fledged game.

In China FTP games are heavily regulated, so it's nothing special that China gets the better treatment than EU or USA.

As a Beginner i must say i takes ages to get the cards for a deck

Its cute add on to the dual links experience but im really being pushed away by the shamelessness konami is taking regarding the online TCG. After the shutdown of dual generations they've demonstrated no generosity regarding transferring progress let alone any in game resources. I wouldn't be suprised if this is the early announcement of dual links 1.0s termination in turn for a newer version given how its received. Having no progress function being implented either. Pokemon tcg online at the very least transfered over to TCG live when their service concluded. Idk man, sucks to be following Yu-Gi-Oh.

I hope we get this in global soon, this is everything ive wanted and left feedback for every time for years. I wanted a way to turn gold into gems, a skill less mode, an anime only mode, a daily task/goal/challenge.

Sadly no. We will never be as good as chinese duel links. The og duel links will always be sloppy grindfest and konami know you would still play it either way

I really don't want to start all over again, but if they could just change the game up to introduce some of these pack buying options, that would be cool. I want the skills to stay... it makes things interesting and keeps F2P decks still usable.

At least you have red gate autoduel. In Chinese Duel Links, you are limited to 20 auto duels per day (either blue or red gate). If you use x3 multiplier, they count as 3 duels. (unless you have only one duel left, for some reason it lets you use the multiplier anyway)

It's insane how much better this is than Global's Duel Links. Honestly I've been trying to hang on to Duel Links for a while now but it's not enjoyable anymore. Even Rush Duel feels lame. I'd just rather play Master Duel, even on mobile.

No thanks. I need characters who talks when they summon something and with better animations.. and that is duel links. Not master duel and not this one. But the one and only duel links..
