Good video! I never thought i would say it, but the colours and car reflections are the best in rF2. They made unbelievable improvements graphic wise to when it first came out more then a decade ago. But it's hit and miss sometimes. I keep going back to iRacing, don't ask me why 😅

RF2 graphs are quite a bit off during nighttime though

A tip for tyre wear with these FWD cars. As the race progresses gradually move your brake bias rearward as you loose front tyre grip. 😉

This really has me wanting to try the series out. I haven't played with rf2 much but this did the trick. Great race!

Hey Ben, nice to see you in rFactor 2 and TCRs, one of my favorite combos 😊 good race mate, the realism of this sim is outstanding, it's a real workout if you don't tune down the ffb settings 😊 we did a series in these and it was AWESOME!

Good race there, I enjoy the BTCC racing on LFM. It's a nice change from the touring cars on iRacing with the hybrid system. But yeah tyre management is a big thing in this game. I did a race at Croft a few weeks ago on LFM in the Hyundai and was left with 25% tyre on the front left by the end of the race, it was rough going by the end 😅

Check out the new RFactor powered by race Control Ben. Had a couple of races in the M2 at Limerock and the Radical at erm I forget now lol. Over 100 people registered 👍

RF2… nice. It’s a great sim. Some of the best physics on the market. Shame about the clunky UI though! The freeze you got seems to happen sometimes with RF2 online. I’ve had it few times in the past on LFM races. Oh and the tyre wear on these touring cars are brutal… you def need to slow your pace down as the race progresses, or will end up in the dirt.

Nice race! Tip: you should start making more shorts. It will help your channel grow. Shorts are the trend

TCR cars are hard on the fronts... This is the case in RaceRoom as well IMO. Combine that with a big load of battling and that's probably why you experienced tyre drop-off. Can't imagine potential wheelspin from hybrid deployment does it any favors but I haven't driven or watched any TCR races with the hybrid models yet. In RaceRoom my solution to TCR tyre wear was to slam the brak bias rearwards - maybe something to try if you didn't already :)

I can’t wait for the nvidia 9080ti to release so I can get rf2 to look like this in VR. RF2 is my favourite sim, but I always get jealous watching you flatscreeners play it and it not looking like a sega game.

It looks very good with current top range hardware (3080/6800XT and above, but you also need a good CPU and fast RAM), specially if you use OpenXR, which on non-SteamVR native headsets gives us a significant boost. Outside of that, for a good performance and still very beautiful graphics, you have to downgrade some specific frame rate eaters, being that some should not be off, such as post-processing, which must be "Low" at the minimum. Also, it's better to have higher resolution than to overburden the system with excessive anti-aliasing. Particles, shadows and reflections at "Medium" or "Low" still give a very good visual result. Further to that, you need to make sure that you don't have unnecessary processes running in the background - which can be the cause of freezes, so it's best to have a slimmed down Windows setup (Streamlabs is also not recommendable, I believe, as it's heavy on resources). A final note, on Steam, set rF2 as "high priority" in the steam-command options as it could help avoiding these interferences.

Hope you've been trying out the new RF2 Alpha with the latest in-built online ranked racing. It's been really fantastic.

I get that frame freeze, as well. It happens at least once a race and sometimes twice. Haven't been able to find out why. I thought it was because I was running a minimum hardware setup, but maybe that's not it?

Great video Ben I do like the idea of this but I've not had the best of times with RF2, did you find setting it all up pretty easy? Also the pricing for these car packs is a bit much IMO

Cheers Gavin mate! Yeah coming from iRacing nothing feels too expensive, but I do know what you mean. I got caught out buying them individually as they came out but there are better value bundles available now. And to race online you only need the track and one car...not the full grid!

There's a story behind the pricing, basically, S397 (and MSG by extension) didn't get the money from the initial sales of RF2 in 2013. So the big boost of finances that most devs get at this point subsidises the other DLC's, whereas these are priced "at cost" to make sure they can be sustainable :)

LFM is not great for Western US in general or I wouldn’t play iRenting.
