I’m Catholic and I fast on Good Friday. After the age of 7 I would fast on Good Friday even in school. That meant I would sit in the cafeteria with all the other kids eating lunch around me. If I could do that as a CHILD, surely a grown man should be able to control himself on a bus ride! He should be ashamed of himself!

They tried to bully the other staff first on their morning breaks, then they tried it again at lunch time, I gave them a choice, I told them that they could shut their pieholes and STOP harassing the rest of the staff with their religious beliefs, or… they could choose to have me fire them on the spot if they kept flapping their yaps. Guess what happened? They tried to bully me by telling me that as an employer I had to accommodate them. I fired them both on the spot and the people in the lunch room actually clapped because they were all thinking the same damn thing, but they were too weak to say anything. DO NOT COMPLY! Be well.

Growing up as a muslim in Bangladesh, I always felt bad for my non muslim friends/colleagues who are kinda forced to not eat during daylight. The restaurants are often closed (especially out of Dhaka, the capital city), they won't serve lunch, the non muslims will hide and feel guilty eating during the month, that really shouldnt be the case. It always always bothered me. A true muslim should be able to control themselves, even if one is eating in front it. That's just me - a moderate muslim. We are equally or more hated by these fanatics.

This is why I LOVE my country! I'm working with Muslim Arabs, good guys and girls, lovely working environment. We usually take a morning coffee or smoke break or a lunch break together. When The Ramadan started, and we met as usual at break time - I was not feeling at ease eating my snack next to them - because they were fasting. So I set with them casually, and they've asked me: why aren't you eating or drinking or smoking? I was a bit embarrassed and said - Because it was Ramadan, and I didn't what to make you feel like you were missing out on something.. Both of them looked at me straight in the eyes and said with a smile: This is OUR THING - you can do what ever you want to do, please eat or drink - IT IS OK WITH US! And IN THIS MOMENT I felt so excepted by my friends and co workers! It was wonderful! I had to share my experience with living beside lovely people who are not as same as me :) Much Love! As a buddhist, everyone knows we all fast. But none of us would tell others to stop eating, you can eat in front of me, no problem. This happens in Malaysia, and so, when they were in fasting month, they will tell other not in the same faith to eat in the toilet, not at school canteen, because they can still smell the food some extremist also suggest to shut down school canteen during fasting month. Ridiculous.

True but many Christians don't fast during lent either. As a former Christian I never fasted for lent. A couple times I gave up other things, but that was half hearted as best. However many of the Christians in the US are trying to force their beliefs on women's bodies. Don't get me started on how for so long they also were successful in keeping consenting adults from getting legally married, and thus they blocked the rights and obligations that come with a legal marriage. Honestly I think any religious group that becomes a majority in a country is a threat to other people's rights.

And if u are not able 2 fast privately, ALL THE MORE, u are NOT draw attention to yourself!!! This is NOT seen as virtuous character. Let me tell you they are intentionally do prayer on road, i am from India here every Friday they do even though they have mosque.

I worked with several Muslims and there was never a problem about eating. They did say though that if they want to eat they can pay a few quid to whoever thereby excusing themselves. Good for that woman for standing up to him.

I am a Christian and in this case I would ask “did you observe Lent?”

My minor son was taking a sip of fruit juice at a garden gate, when an old man confronted him and shamed him for drinking during ramzan. My son felt confused and humiliated at the same time, in his own country.

And it's absolutely UNHEALTHY! Every nutritionist would advise to eat a huge breakfast, a significant lunch and no dinner or just a very meek dinner, like some salad and maybe a bit of fish. Every carb we eat at night is more likely to make us more obese. Just look at the obesity statistics of the Gulf countries. I met some Muslim people who lose weight during Ramadan, but they are very careful of just eating a little bit at night and drinking a lot of water. A really serious faster would never harrass an eating person, just because he will try to preserve and not to waste his energy until sundown. These harrassers are just hiding their malevolence under a fake facade of piety. If you have energy to Harras, it means that you are not fasting, but a secretly eating apostate. And a Muslim apostate is under the level of any eating non-Muslim according to ISLAM and even according to Prophet Muhammed himself!

I know when I worked two jobs I had exactly 30 minutes to get off one job and make it to the next. Did not take a break at work because if I did I wouldn't be able to clock out in time to get to the next job. Never know that bus ride might be the only chance she gets to eat.

Like the guy that said I shouldn't say Merry Christmas because it offends him🤬 I proceeded to tell him he was in MY Country, if he didn't like it, GO HOME. The 10ish people in the gas station all started clapping and hollering. He left.

If the smell of food tempts you when you're fasting, you faith is not strong enough. One important aspect of religion is withstanding temptations.
