    I think the saddest part is the fact that people will subscribe to someone just because their favourite KZreadr told them to and that they won't give their content a chance because it's not like the content they are already watching. Do we really need to be MrBeast copycats just to be successful? If so then that is really dystopian.

    @@Thomanory but why should they watch content they don't enjoy? The reason people don't watch content that isn't like Mr. Beast content is because those people are interested in Mr. Beast content but not the other content. Every channel has a different target audience. People who like Mr. Beast style content will watch MrBeast copycats because they are the target audience and they enjoy that style of content. This demographic is very large. The other channels had very niche content that appeal to a smaller demographic. It's not dystopian. It's just that different people have different preferences and Mr. Beast style content appeals to a wider range of people compared to the other channels which appeal to a very very small amount of people. How many people are interested in home decorating? How many people are interested in Mr. Beast style videos? Almost every kid on Earth apply to the latter.

    Thank you I totally understand your point of view. I hate when jimmy talks about KZread static, algorithms, and how to explode your channel easily. When the entire point of KZread is to build a community, do videos that you’re passionate about, and in the process making money. Jimmy literally had to build a community first, next experience what people wanted, and finally exploded because of PewDiePie. I had no idea who MrBeast was until he basic his video towards Felix. This is spot on, Tyler! I do website SEO for a living, specializing in mid to large sized business growth. YT uses different metrics, of course… But the sudden traffic increase could potentially throw a wrench into how YT has assessed that channel’s “authority” for its niche. That’s because your metrics are massively skewed (retention rate / views compared to subscribers). Shoutouts are only valuable if they’re within your own niche, otherwise it could damage your channel. However, much like websites that get an influx of spam, I suspect the damage can be reversed over time. IMO YT needs a disavow feature for situations like this.

  • @PyroFilmsFX

    @PyroFilmsFX

    Also agree of this phenomenon. But you can literally see they get similar views from before and after. They didn't tank.... the shoutout just didn't help. They viewed subscribers as the right metric to follow not "improve on my own videos". This was the stupidest analysis ever even proved himself wrong with the other examples.

  • @kylepuckett6786

    @kylepuckett6786

    3 ай бұрын

    @@PyroFilmsFX I thought it was a solid analysis! Tyler’s not an SEO, so I don’t expect him to be hyper detailed in his assessment… but there’s a lot that can be inferred from the data he presented. For example: If the YT algorithm sees a massive influx of subscribers to your channel, then it will test your next series of videos by expanding your organic reach. Likely a mix of subscribers and non-subscribers. If that channel fails to meet YT’s expectations in terms of metrics, then it will suppress that organic reach. Also, when YT sees your subscriber count on a constant decline, in combination with a poor test for expanded organic reach, then the algorithm could conceivably work against your channel - because it views it as less “authoritative” or “trustworthy”. Spam detection might be part of the issue for these channels, which would further hamper their channel’s growth. Knowing what I know from SEO, you can be sure that YT looks at hundreds if not thousands of different metrics… most of which aren’t even accessible in the Studio Dashboard. So, it’s not always about “making better videos” although that’s certainly a factor.

    @@kylepuckett6786 yes I fully agree and am aware of the metrics and how/why. I’ve been researching modern content creation on KZread heavily & have history in SEO/content creation. I’ve been presented with dozens of examples of this concept. Just as similar as to how if you make shorts content and have 1m shorts subs, you’ll almost never get main content views. I get it. I just pointed out that the obvious. Their views remained consistent before and after the shoutouts. If their views tanked? Then I’d agree. These people may have stagnated. Which THAT I could agree as a statement. Not they were “killed” by a shout-out. They were not. The data proves such. There may even be growth if I go back and look myself instead of the bias data. He also supplied proven examples of other successful shoutouts. This was a sad ploy to use MrBeast’s name for views. Nothing more. If he went over YOUR points instead, then it would be a more valuable and correct video. Even in his interview of the 3rd random shoutout he tried to make the guy say so hard that the “shoutout was/could have been bad”. The guy had great answers from a wider perspective. And I meant by “making better videos” as to focus on your VIEWS and RETENTION metrics. But 99% of KZreadrs think subs means anything at all. They “quit KZread” because they expected a million subs to magically equate to a million views. The guy did not go over any of that. Also HIS data doesn’t show the points you are making at all. But I do fully agree these are nearly true facts of how KZread works modern day. It doesn’t destroy a channel tho. If you are getting the same views pre and post, there’s just no arguments. You simply need to take beast related content out of the picture since it’s obviously not their niche. So the data is meaningless. I think ultimately. Who’s correct doesn’t matter because the video maker is getting my interaction and views on the video.

    Another thing to consider is that they made videos for the Mr.Beast audience at first. I think that’s what actually killed them because if they only made a community post thanking people for subscribing or just made a video telling new people what their channel was about their new subscribers would be probably be considered by KZread “dead” subscribers that weren’t interested in this channel’s content and would be not suggested the channels videos quicker and maybe their channels could’ve survived

    My opinion is how can you kill a channel that wasn't ever successful to begin with and never would have received the exposure to begin with? even if most people didn't stick around, they surely had a few people who did and that's growth. I think the issue is they just expected all their problems to be solved and to be huge with large views every video after the shout-out, when pre-shout-out they were barely even crossing a thousand views. In the first example, they only had a few hundred views per video. Post-shout-out, they were actually doing better off on their normal videos with thousands of views per video. I know it's probably not where they wanted to be either, but that is growth and growth performs at different rates. Also, if the content isn't doing well, if you want to make it, you have to switch it up and find what works rather than blaming your audience for not watching you. It may very well be the best video in the entire world, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter if people don't click on it, and it's up to you to find out what makes people click on your videos.

    Talk about slow growth… That’s how Mr. Beast became the biggest KZreadr in the world. One night I was bored and scrolled through many of his older videos… He probably uploaded over 300 videos in the first three years, and it took him several years to even reach 1000 subscribers! However, he was building something during these years, and he likely had a very loyal fan base that supported him when the channel finally took off.

    I’m no expert, but based on my experience, Google Ads can also be bad to a small channel, especially if you don’t really know what you’re doing, like me 😉 Today I believe more in slow growth, even if it’s not always fun to wait… Even if I tried to reach people interested in my stuff through ads, the only result was a lot worse retention and fewer views on the whole channel. Basically all my uploads started to have fewer views after that. Even though I only did it for a week, it took months before I had as many views and subscribers as I had the months before. I’m not 100% sure if it was because of the ads, but something definitely changed in the weeks after that… So I will avoid ads at least until I learn more about it. Just a tip before you try to grow a channel with ads… Or any other ”fast” way to growth your channel. Most of us probably just need more patience 😘

    Mr Beast editor & former talent here! I agree with your perspective! I can’t lie, I didn’t watch the entire video BUT I will say: to their advantage, all the views from the videos that did skyrocket go to their pockets & help them get monetized 💰💸 maybe they don’t sustain the views, but they probably made BANK off those views from just one video. This is an advantage. Maybe not for longevity, no. But it’s a perk for sure! You also have to factor in how niche a channel is. Which I think you mentioned. It has to be something widely relatable to be worth sticking around for. From being in some of his videos myself, I actually found success from his name. It was my lack of availability for KZread and IG later on that made my following taper off. So it’s a debatable topic. Overall, cool perspective!

    Definitely appreciate the insight and video quality and effort! I must however disagree with 5:20 - a "Mr. Beast" audience is not necessarily so one dimensional as to only want one thing. I personally have enjoyed numerous Mr Beast videos for the wholesome nature and outlandish scale he works in, yet I also watch all sorts of unrelated channels and for a number of people, an unrelated channel may be of great interest to them! TL;DR not all, but at least some, people in a given channel's audience will also like your content so keep it up!! With that said, I do understand the youtube algorithm may end up 'hiding' your stuff since it thinks your audience is something it isn't. So that is a complication

    First of all, how does this video only have 1200 views??? And how do you only have 80 subs (now 81 because I subscribed)??? Both you and the video deserve at the very least a thousand times more views and subs which I am certain you will reach in due time if you keep uploading quality stuff like this, keep it up! Now about the video itself, while I do agree that in terms of analytics MrBeast will ruin your videos if they don't align with his audience (like average watch time, audience retention and all that stuff), I think it'll still help a lot with other aspects such as the membership requirement (500 subscribers and 3000 watch hours) and the ad / monetization requirement (1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours) from talking about MrBeast for like 1 / 2 videos and then I guess after that you can do whatever you like with monetization / membership perks as a bonus. So I don't think shoutouts are a bad thing at all... Nalterdeeds has the right idea, you can't expect your videos to perform any better just because of a shoutout, I'd just be happy with the new (and decaying) subscribers, the easy path to youtube monetization and upload what I'd like with the same mentality as before I got the shoutout.

    As a voiceover pro editing team we can put a shoutout from MrBeast to good use , cuz we can adapt in for content that the new pepole like, so as MrBeast ho loves anime. And we are ther masters in that area :D . You are right here .. if the channel is not suited for Jimmys content they WILL fail.

    a tip for youtube, everything after 7:22 will destroy your watch time and you should put that first and make the video 8-10 minutes if you can. the viewers already saw what was in the humbnail and wont be interested in the rest of the video

    When you upload a video and your subscribers don't click it, that also kills your CTR, pushing the video lower into the algorithm. These 3 channels, not really doing Beast-like content, got a whole bunch of deadweight subs that ended up hurting their channel more than helping. Really sucks, I'm kinda surprised that Mr Beast didn't foresee this happening since he's so in tune with how the algorithm works, but as that third guy said, ton of life lessons and content creator lessons
