Terry (John Michael Higgins) tells Sean (Christopher Moynihan) that he can change out of his uniform once his singing is up to par.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The writing and directing team who created Waiting For Guffman and Best In Show turn their satiric eye toward the world of folk music in this sly mockumentary. Irving Steinbloom was one of the great behind-the-scenes figures of the folk music boom of the late '50s and early '60s, and helped to nurture the careers of three of the best known acts of the era. The Folksmen -- Mark Shubb (Harry Shearer), Alan Barrows (Christopher Guest), and Jerry Palter (Michael McKean) -- were an earnest folk trio who sang of America's noble past and the challenges of the future; they split up in the early '70s after a failed attempt to go electric. Mitch & Mickey were a duo in both music and life, comprised of Mitch Cohen (Eugene Levy) and Mickey Devlin (Catherine O'Hara). They sang soulful songs of love until the collapse of their relationship sent Mitch into a deep and incapacitating depression. And The Main Street Singers were a nine-piece vocal group -- a "neuftet," as they prefer it -- who offered energetic good-time music, cranking out nearly 30 albums in the course of a decade; their current incarnation, The New Main Street Singers (played by Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, John Michael Higgins, David Alan Blasucci, Steve Pandis, Christopher Moynihan, Paul Dooley and Patrick Sauber) is still on the road. When it is announced that the legendary Irving Steinbloom has died (the character never appears in the film), his son Jonathan (Bob Balaban) decides that the best way to memorialize his father is through music, and with the help of Mike LaFontaine (Fred Willard) of Hi-Class Management, they set out to bring The Folksmen, Mitch & Mickey, and The New Main Street Singers back together for a special concert at New York's Town Hall. Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer -- who previously teamed up for This Is Spinal Tap -- not only perform together as The Folksmen in A Mighty Wind, but composed most of the songs performed onscreen.

To top it off, besides being a great comic actor, a superb voice actor (Mentok The Mind Taker) he is also in real time an experienced and accomplished vocal conductor/arranger...

This reminds me of so many managers that I’ve had. Weird policies, calling people out on tiny mistakes, and always turning to their yes-man.

Yeap. They are eking out every little drop of power they think they have. I was working for a company that just hired me and was supposed to give me a work shirt uniform, but they were all out, so I had to go and buy some shirts of my own. Solid red or black with button down color of about 2 or 3 buttons, like a polo or golf shirt. So that's what I go buy. Now, they had non colored sort of ribbed lines in them because that was the style. It was perfectly fine until a new manager showed up and he in front of everyone else goes, "What kind of shirt is that?! Don't you KNOW that we have a work uniform?!" "Yes, I know that, but you didn't have any to give me, so I was told to go out and buy some and this is what I was told was acceptable." "I don't know WHO told you that!" "The previous manager." "Well, the handbook says that no lines are allowed." "This shirt doesn't have any lines. I was simply told solid red or black with a button color like a polo or golf shirt. That is exactly what this is." "What are these then?" he points to the ribbed accents. "They aren't lines." "Yes they are, and you better change that by the next time I see you or ELSE!" "As soon as you go and get your clearly visible full length arm tattoos removed because that is absolutely against the dress code policy. Now, I am not going out and buying new shirts to work here because I already bought a whole bunch of these, so if you want me to be in what you think is a work uniform, maybe you can get me some of the shirts you are supposed to provide to me. I'll wear one as soon as I get one."

@@danielc1978He shut up, turned around and walked away and never mentioned anything about my shirts again. A couple of weeks later they finally gave me the work uniform shirts they were supposed to when I got hired. That manager didn't last long at that store.
On the left, he was referred to in the original New Christy Minstrels as "our precious pineapple."

Sean: Yeah, I can sing that, sure! (....) Go ahead Terry: You have a problem in the bridge? Sean: No, i was gonna... Can i switch? Can i change out of my costume? Terry: Costume? Are you hot? Sean: Yeah.. l've been wearing in for a month! Terry: You know the policy: We all gotta wear the uniform until we're ready to take it off. You're close, i just don't think you're quite there yet! You did not sing that sixth and i want to see you sing that sixth! You sound fine, eventually you'll be able to wear you civvies when you're singing, John M Higgins and Chris Moynihan are perfect in this scene!
