@Historia Antiqua So what? Millions of Christians HAVE been martyered over the centuries. Thousands upon thousands by the Roman Church. That is an undeniable fact. So in memory of those brothers and sisters regardless of where they died.

@Historia Antiqua and yes...sure you believe in Spartacus as a fact even without never finding his body...You probably believe in Alexander the great(also with remains that were never found) You most likely believe in George Washington even when you never saw him in person... but somehow somebody(Jesus) who is accepted by the great majority of people in history as a fact hits you in your feelings... Aren't you too sensitive? Do you need a shoulder to cry on? 🤣

Not that many were martyred in the Coliseum. It was mostly for blood sports of all kinds. Circus Maximus was where most of the Christians were martyred. Its a short distance from the Coliseum. Nero's palace had a connection to Circus Maximus where he could securely walk out to his private trackside suite to watch the chariot races. That's likely why the Circus Max was the martyr site. There's nothing there now. If you didn't know about it you'd think you're walking across a flat grassy park.

@@royalprotector No problem. Its been ten years since I was there so I took a peek at Google Maps satellite. I see some stone at one end. And see the remnants of the walkway from the palace to the edge of the Circus. The emporers had a habit of tearing down the prior guy's buildings to put up his own monuments to himself. So I can't say for certain the palace ruins above the racetrack are Nero's or somone elses. Frankly I was overwhelmed by the size of the area and the many layers of history there. To illustrate this I totally missed the Arch of Titus. I wanted to see the carvings of his triumph march carrying the spoils from the Jerusalem Temple. I must''ve been in a daze as I was close to it by the Coliseum but somehow never saw it. Love to go back and spend 10 days instead of 3. So much to contemplate!

1.A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing; Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing: For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe; His craft and pow’r are great, and, armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal. 2.Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing, Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing: Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He; Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same, And He must win the battle. 3.And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us; The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure, One little word shall fell him. 4.That word above all earthly pow’rs, no thanks to them, abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth; Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also; The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever.

All years since...my life has been filled with some painful tragic events. I listen to this song with pain but it tells me to be strong. If the early Christians could continue one through such vile torture...so can I. My pain is tolerable...I just have to cope. Even when left to cope alone...I have God and the comfort of Jesus. People ask have I found Jesus...I say...he found me as a tiny child. I have always known.

I thought the same thing as many of the comments below as the Choir sings Martin Luther’s inspiring hymn in Rome the eternal city and the seat of the Roman Catholic Church for 2000 years. But still its worth considering as Christianity is attacked from all sides in today’s modern world that Christians be they Catholic, Protestant or Orthodox have much more in common than what separates them

It's indeed strange how protestants can walk with the Catholic system of Marry worship and other doctrines negating the atonment of Christ. 2 Timothy 3:16 Hopefully the faithful protestants to Jesus Christ would leave this apostate systems, including spiritual formation from Ignatius Loyola. "The just shall live by faith alone", not by the works of venerated saints or images or imagining things.

Beautiful interpretation from a song that for itself it's great and full of bravery, and makes me think about how God made that some men could studied the Bible and make a change in their lives and the history too. It's a pleasant surprise had accepted the suggestion from KZread to watch this video. And I didn't realize that is an adventist institute, the same fate that I have. Greetings from Chile, the southest country in the world. God bless you all and your ministry.

Beautiful, what a quality in image and music. We are now in the Netherlands in a Corona Crisis where the unvaccinated are at risk of being excluded from all shops except the Supermarkets. I got a lot of support from this song and also sent it to the Dutch Parliament. "Our mighty Fortress is our God !"
