This Memorial Day, I hope that in addition to honoring the fallen, people will also consider the tremendous amounts of valor that are wasted by sending young men and women off to fight foreign wars that contribute absolutely nothing to American freedom or security. These kids want to fight for America, but they end up dying for the wealth of corrupt politicians and the military industrial complex

I agree and disagree we are a war run country without it we would die we have been out of war about only 30 years ever in our existence, I myself want to be infantry and would fight no matter what they wanted me to do

@The Avner really? You assume too much, of course you would. One of my many proud accomplishments is graduating from a military college and being commissioned as a 2lt in the Army. You, my friend, take it all too seriously.

Pretty soon we'll have to add children to memorial day services.

@@sharonwillhelm981 now let's just say that I'm known as Otis like The Andy Griffith show well this guy my name is Derek by the way lives in Florence Oregon and his mother's car cuz there's no housing I actually cry at parades I always like veterans day parades and the real day parades last Wednesday people in Florence hitting the car and booing me and I was in a spot was not blocking nothing so I called 911 about this discrepancy and they knew who I am of course and they said just call your mom and have your mom move the car off the parade route. So I called my mother and that she's walking down the street about five blocks did you get the car people were doing her on the parade route and so she got to the car and then we moved the car and I did not get to see the veterans day parade so as far as I'm concerned every soldier that got wounded or died or fought for this country since George Washington died for nothing because I got left behind I did nothing wrong this is not a country no more now this is a big principle of the matter thing but as far as I'm concerned every soldier that fought in any war that died or got wounded or whatever did it for nothing because I got left behind in Florence Oregon on veterans day have a good day

It is where I come from. You remember and honor those you've lost with a ceremony and then you honor them again by living and celebrating the life you have ... because of the things they fought for. I mean no disrespect but I do disagree.
