I have a pitboss pellet pellet smoker grill. Because of the convection fan cooking due to keeping the main feed hopper lit you don't get enough smoke flavor because it's just blowing the smoke out too fast. I bought 2 smoker tubes and put them just to the left on the grill and it adds enough smoke flavor finally.

How long did you smoke the ribs? Did you sauce them or put a rub on them before hand? They have a nice color to them, but when they went on, looked raw with nothing. Also Ive heard you dont put the tube over a flame? Im just trying to figure out how to use this tube I got for Christmas.

I love my smoke tube !! I have a gas grill and I can put meat on the top rack leave the tube at the bottom and indirect heat using only the two outside burners. Works great. Another alt use for the tube is to leave it upright and set on a brick. That smoke so much it repels mosquitoes wonderfully.

One thing that can help with your pellet smokers is close your hats more on your stacks. I did that with my Members Mark and it made a hell of a difference! more smoke flavor and you can see more smoke out the stack too! But you still have room for more smoke flavor compared to stick smokers so gonna try one of these out with my pellet smoker and see ho much stronger of a smoke taste I can get.

Have had one for long time. I like it but have noticed two things. I use it for my traeger as they don't put out much smoke unless on smoke setting. When it gets over 275 it extinguishes. Also the smoke from it tastes a bit more bitter.

Hi, I just bought the A-MAZE-SMOKER EXPANDEBLE for my brand-new Weber-Gas-Grill Q2200... As you surly know it's not a very big grill... But I wanted a small one... If I would put the original Weber-Smokerbox on it there wouldn't be much space left for meat... So I was very happy to find this tiny smoker! I'm really looking forward to try out if and how it works! I bought hickory-BBQ -woodchips for the first try... And I hope it will make my BBQ as tasty as yours! I like your Video! Greetings from Germany! 😊

I noticed that all of the ash drops in the smoker/grill when you try to retrieve and/or refill after it burns. What I did is I put this under the tube before I lit it: I tripled up aluminum foil about 6 inches wide by 1 inch longer on each end than the tube. When burn is done, wrap the foil over the whole works and lift out. No ash on meat/cheese/veggies.

Ah yes, before I bought a Rec Tec smoker I tried a Cuisinart smoker tray and felt it was a waste of money in my gas grill. My Rec Tec arrived last week and tried it out immediately, but was also disappointed in the small amount of smoke it produced. However, a few days later my Amazn smoker tube showed up and, like you, was amazed by the amount of smoke it produced. Will be smoking a whole chicken with it on the Weber gas grill later this morning. If you like smoke....buy one of these.

There definitely is less smoke, but could it be that the Silverbac just had thinner smoke that was tougher to see? Not sure just wondering. I’ve heard that you want thinner smoke usually. But as long as they taste good!

Yeah a lighter isn't going to cut it. If you have a gas grill, you can briefly stick the end of the tube down onto the flame of the burner to get it going. Easiest thing though is to get yourself a torch, doesn't have to be anything special, either propane or butane will work.

You want to keep your grill temp at 250-275 degrees for smoking. If the grill gets to hot the pellets or chip will combust

Good pellets are NOT flavored, they are made from 100% wood. The different wood types, such hickory, mesquite, etc. impart flavor, but the pellets are not flavored. Also, the white smoldering smoke you see is actually the bad, dirty smoke. Any good pitmaster, including Aaron Franklin, will tell you that you want that clear blueish smoke, not the heavy white stuff like you see coming from this tube.

yup. white smoke is disgusting. literally your meats giving off an SOS smoke signal. for pellets, ive ran a Yoder (best IMO), Memphis, Traeger (complete garbage, Chinese junk), and Cookshack. decent smokes considering the convenience, but not comparable to a real stick

Not gonna lie, BBQ I've had off Traegers and pellet stoves taste like it came out of the oven to me. I prefer food out of an actual smoker or charcoal grill until I first used the smoke tube in a gas grill. Adds plenty of smoke flavor to the meat and enhances the flavor.
