Pixar seems to be really good at sequels!!! I loved seeing more characters added to the gang and seeing how fleshed out Woody and Jesse were. This was a banger! Enjoy :)

Unfortunately, Pixar only did bloopers for A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and Monsters Inc. I think it would've been fun to see bloopers for other Pixar movies.

It's theorized that the reason Woody doesn't know his backstory, is that he was the prototype toy for the toyline, and that he was Andy's father's toy. So, if he were the first, he wouldn't know persay about his tv show that came AFTER the toyline was created. In the same vain, Jessie is theorized to belong to Andy's mother. His cowboy hat is designed like Jessie's instead of Woody's.

There is an interesting theory I like to believe. Jessie's owner was, in fact, Andy's mom. She grew up, got rid of her toys and moved out, etc. Except for her former hat (which is in fact Jessie's and not Woody's), and she gifted that to her son when he grew up... That's why Andy's hat is not Woody's but Jessie's instead.

As an autistic who’s artsy and can’t create original but likes to add on to make original better . I immedietly had to have that job and I got into sewing and got my own fix it workshop cabinet bag with paint and drawers and micro glasses and I made a business of it as a teen to fix toys . I’m now that guy . At 38 I still fix toys and I do get calls . I love the career I’ve made for myself . I once got flown to Japan to fix a guys’ gundam collection . He had over 150 that he’d been collecting since the 80s . I painted a lot of scratches and vaccumed dust out of cracks . I have a custom built micro vaccum cleaner for it now . God bless Toy Story 2 for giving me inspiration . I love my job

An endearing behind the scenes Story that you might appreciate is this movie was almost not made. What happened was a lot of the animation got deleted. What saved it was, the fact that one of the animators had to work from home because she just had a baby, so she had all the copies of the animation on her computer at home. So a baby saved the entire movie franchise.

If you go back to the moment where Buzz and the other toys decide to let Woody stay with the Round Up Gang, if you listen in the background you can hear Jessie from the Tv show say, “Sheriff Woody! I knew you’d make it!” It’s implied that that was the actual end of the Woody’s Roundup finale! Notice how it’s Stinky Pete/Prospector that says the show was cancelled, but if that really was the true finale then that means he was lying about the show being cancelled and only said it to keep Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye from leaving.

Besides The Lion King, the Toy Story franchise has been a huge part of my life. Every time I see Jessie’s backstory and hear that song, my heart breaks for her. It’s actually been confirmed that Emily is actually Andy and Molly’s mom. The proof is that Andy’s hat is the exact one you see Emily wearing as a kid. So it makes me so happy to see the circle come complete when Andy plays with the toy that once belonged to his mother. Believe it or not Toy Story 2 almost never existed; its had accidentally gotten deleted. Thankfully Galyn Susman's backups famously saved the film. 🤠🧑🏻‍🚀🐴💛💙❤️

I actually noticed the foreshadowing when I watched your video of the first Toy Story movie. There's a commercial for Al's Toy Barn playing at one point in the first Toy Story movie. It's hilarious to re-watch the first movie after you've watched the second one, knowing that Al is the bad guy of the second one, and then see the commercial for Al's Toy Barn in the first movie. Very ironic.

Another theory for why some toys know when they are toys or real figures. Batteries. Pretty much most of the toys are battery free. In the first movie they make references to stores they sat in till they got bought. Woody pull string is a windup box, but buzz needs batteries. So while in the box as mentioned in the movie, hes in "hyper sleep" but then when hes unboxed at andys party, buzz has had no time to get use to the idea of being a toy. As for the utility belt Buzz, its a store model, batties already inside but his mission is securing all other buzz. He doesn't get played with while on the display so he has no child interaction. So basically battery toys need to be acclimated when they are opened or they will think they arent a toy.

Was there only one Woody doll? Andy's father was also named Andy-Andy Sr. -and he wrote his name on Woody's boot. The reason Woody is such a rare toy is because he's the only Woody doll that was ever made-just a prototype. Long story short, Andy ends up with a Woody prototype, the absolute only Woody doll in existence (the official line was never manufactured due to a new interest in space toys). So, honestly after looking through google, Woody is only one of a kind unlike Buzz who we see the isles are full of buzzes but there is only one woody doll and the whole collection was only made of only one each and that's it. Which made them super rare.

Crazy fun fact about the movie: they came incredibly close to disaster during production. Someone working on the movie mistakenly typed in a command in a line of code that started deleting the movie. All of it. Months of work, disappearing before their eyes. I think it was almost entirely gone by the time they were able to put a stop to it. Their saving grace turned out to be another animator that was on maternity leave. She'd taken home a copy of the work they'd done so far so that she could keep working while she was gone, and now had the ONLY copy of the movie. They sent someone over to her house to get her computer, wrapped it up in about a million blankets, buckled it into the back seat, and took the world's most cautious drive back to the studio. I like to think about this whenever I think I've made a monumental mistake, just to give myself perspective. 😅

21:54 Fun fact: Mattel didn't let Disney have the right to include their toys in the first Toy Story. Disney made the joke in the first movie, "And I'm from Mattel. Well, I'm not actually from Mattel, I'm actually from a smaller company that was purchased in a leveraged buy-out. Well, I don't really understand the financials, but..." They were all over being in the second movie after they saw the succes of the first one.

Every toy has a false memory like buzzed in the first film that has to do with their creation of who they are and once they get played with they figure out their toy, but for Woody there are a few different theories as to why he didn't know, one has to do with the theory that Andy's dad died and Woody was actually his dad's toy that he gave to Andy before he died and that's why Wood he doesn't remember, you can see in the first film in the original house they live in that there's a boy in pictures on the walls but he has glasses except we know Andy doesn't so it's possible that that's actually his dad as a child and they're living in his dad's house and he sadly passed away, another theory people have which is a lot darker is that his mum cheated on his dad and that's why his sister looks different to him and now they're moving away because of that, some people also their rise that there was a final episode of what he's round up but the prospect turned it off because he didn't want Woody to know he was evil. There was also something to do with the original creation as well where Woody would've been a cereal box toy and that's why he doesn't remember who he is, there's a lot of speculation around why he doesn't remember who he is it could be because his show is cancelled although the other characters remember so it's hard to know what happened to him and why he doesn't remember there's a lot of mystery around and Andy specifically, the super Carlin Brothers broke down the creators original idea talking about how he got sick and how Wood he was his toy, which is something that I think the original creator or one of the original creators came up with but then scrapped the idea in the end you can still see glimpses of it like the pictures on the wall etc, also a lot of people speculate that the girl in Jess's flashback is actually Andy's mum so that would kind of make sense because that shows how old she is and it would make sense if she was his mum's toy and then Woody was his dad's toy but these are just theories nothing is Canon so we don't actually know if Jess was his mum's other than that he had the same hat that the little girl wears in the flashback and that is clearly Jess's hat that Andy has been wearing since the first film like even though his toy is woody he has Jess's cowboy hat. Because you can tell when we meet Jess that her hat is red which is the exact same hat as Andy's red with the white rim where is Woody's hat is brown, so it would make sense that she would give Andy her hat when she grew up but not Jesse because she didn't have Jesse anymore, but again that's just a theory we don't know for sure if Jess's owner was Andy's mum again that's a theory just like Belonging to Dad we don't know for sure anymore because none of that is Canon but it's interesting to think about and their eyes on how these things happen and why Wood he doesn't remember something that the rest of the Woods round up gang do.

"Rizz up the Barbies." -The Cocoa Couch Also, as others have mentioned, it is believed Andy's mom was Jessie's owner originally. I just want to add an extra detail to further reinforce this theory. Woody is well before Andy's time in regards to toys. So the idea is Andys mom recognized Woody in most likely a thrift store at some point, and feeling guilty over Jessie, bought him for Andy as a means of making up for this mistake, and to let Andy experience the same joy she felt as a young girl playing with Jessie.

You know it's kind of funny. Buzz when he came out of the box, he thought he was the real ranger. not a toy and yet he remembers things, he remembered everything on the side of his box when he and woody and everyone met in movie one. But now in this one, Woody has no idea who he is or has no backstory or one he even remembered, it's kind of funny in away the opposites between Buzz's backstory he remembers but Woody doesn't.
