Bruh the number of times I get snuck up on in air rb is insane. U really gotta listen and pick out suspect engine noises coming in. Ends up forcing me to react without even seeing my opponent when they’ve been tracking me from 4+km away, and even by the time i hear their engine their silent IR missile is already in my cockpit. totally fair

the state of markers is now closer to SBEC than anything else. Sure, realism, but disappearing in yo face til 2km away? please, that's the maximum distance for bullets effectiveness and the average ir missile optimal launch distance.

Tbh I prefer no markers. I think actually having to spot the enemy properly rather than rely on some big ass marker takes more situational awareness and skill. Rendering is obviously the problem there though

I love this aircraft. My loadout is 2x2000 lb bombs, 2x500 lb pounds, 2xMagic 2s, and the 530E. I fly it like the su-25. Low and fast, strike a base, then pop up for some kills. I was able to grind the entire French tree in 5 days with it (yes I have a job. Yes, I was on Christmas vacation lol).

Grinding modules with 530f is the most painful thing

i spaded the techtree migare f1c after the patch and my winrate is only around like 35% in around 100 matches due to facing usa 11.7 everygame in a plane that can not carry at all

These are really good videos. Great to learn what is good to buy, how to fly certain aircraft and general tips. It would be really cool to see a video, as someone who is fairly new to air RB in general, where you detail how you should move around the map. Not like a positioning guide, but more like "when is a good time to attack, what are your opportunities to engage and how to spot them, and where you should be in order to benefit your team the most." Something like that would be fantastic.

Thank you soo much man, for all your help and advice. At the beginning of the year I had no idea what I was doing in plane, watching your videos I finally got an idea of how to aim the guns and lineup shot, this was in ground RB. over the last few months I've been going into Air RB and picking up to 3 kills on occasion. I've been playing war thunder for 7 years and never understood dogfighting but your videos really made a difference.

That fight at the end was one of the best I've seen on this channel, 2 great players one against another not making any big mistakes, too bad it had to end with a rearm missile but anyway well played for both

I've been flying the standard Mirage F1C recently. I've entirely given up on the radar missiles and now take 2x Magic II and 3x R530E and go full IR spam. I've personally had a lot more success with the aircraft playing it as an IR surprise delivery service. It is my experience that whatever theoretical advantage to hit-rate Super Matras have of the regular 530s is entirely cancelled out by having to lock the enemy, giving them warning and then maintain that lock and your attention for however long. Meanwhile once you fire off that 530E it demands nothing else from you. This does limit your effective engagement ranges significantly and certainly isn't meta, but nothing about the plane is meta in the first place. So I guess at least it's sort of fun and I no longer have to get frustrated at the missiles themselves getting notched (Or whatever else causes them to randomly lose track) whilst I hold a perfectly good lock on the enemy.

I talismaned my tech tree F1C while I was grinding for the Mirage 2000C so I could familiarize myself with the missiles, but you've pretty much hit the nail on the head here. Like, it's not bad by any means, and I've managed to get a couple ace matches in it (very sorry for when it inevitably goes to 11.7 next patch because I had two good games in it), but when you have to spend the first half of the game on the deck, notching against F-14's, F-16's, F4's, etc., you're going to start pretty much every game at a disadvantage because you're, ya know, on the deck, at the side of the map, while the enemies have been able to secure the altitude above the center of the battlefield.

Thankfully the F-16s and Mig-29s are 12.0 now so the F1C can get some breathing room If it goes down to let's day 10.7 it's going to be very fun to use

today i got my first sim kill i was coming back from a failed napalm bombing on my su7 bmk, and im just rtb. but with corner of the eye i see a little plane flying almost exatly my way: its a fully loaded f5c going for a bomb run. poor guy understood i was on his tail last second, but to his luck he probably gets the rwr activated and starts turning. now to notice, aiming with a controller is VERY hard, but i get lucky and shoot down the guy. absolutely proud

Honestly I love the mig 29. At this point if you die my a radar missile it’s pretty much a skill issue. You can notch easily in the mig 29 from about 4 km and 3 km is cutting it pretty close to get one shot at anyway. Just cut afterburner if your going above Mach 1 and have an amazing time. If they’re close you will need to use chaff. Works every time. This thing is a beauty and can absolutely out turn anything in a low speed turn fight except for the f16 maybe. But that’s what those ERs are for. F16s no longer own the high ground 🤤. It is pretty fun to bully f14s with missiles too, and as long as you maintain closure, you’ll never lose the dogfight. Aim 54s may catch you by surprise but it’s pretty easy to dodge once you get used to ppl spamming 6 in the beginning of the match.

Gaijin repair costs seem to be such a meme, 20k for the j-7e and 14k for the f16? Balance by plane not by players. The fact that the TT variant of this is just under 15k is also a joke.

I’ve been looking to possibly buy this as I’ve started grinding the French tree since I’ve basically finished Japan (except for naval). Maybe this may finally mean I’ll get to use guided munitions for once in my life, since I’ve never used them before. Onto something else for Japan, they finally fixed the Kikka. After an eternity of being bugged, they actually fixed it.

I love the F1. I do pretty damn good in it.

If Gaijin refuses to put planes at 13.0 to alleviate the compression, they could at LEAST move the F-16, MiG-29 to 12.0, and Mirage 2000, F-14 and MLD to 11.7. Maybe the EJ Kai could go to 11.7 as well since it gets Aim-9Ls now. F1C could be very competitive if they just balance the plane right

when I was playing the F1C, it was quite easy to get S530F kills simply by climbing and using top down aproach, where their RWR doesnt work. now that F14s are preventing the opposite team to fly at any kind of altitude, and that for some obscure reason France is matched against USA every single time, its not possible anymore.

the issue is the S530F has gotten nerfed over time and you can literally chaff it with a single chaff pop without even moving its pretty damn sad i rather bring 3 530Es than the Fs just because of the joy it brings me watching that slowass missile chase a panicking tomcat into a ratefight because he wont stop afterburning lol

Since they dont want to add the south african air tree to britain, they should have just used the Super Mirage F1 instead of this for france, atleast then it would have been a bit more unique with better mobility and R73’s….

2000D-R1 is silly but fun in sim, it does have some unique advantages there. Only thing I can think of that fast with the super easy mode fly-by-wire, a thermal camera, up to four guided air-to-ground weapons two of which are powered, 2 all aspect IR missiles, and the same incredible radar as the 2000C. It's still fairly pointless. By comparison the F1-Cs do not have fly by wire and if you pull hard you will instantly spin out. Quite recoverable, not F-14 flat-spin-o-matic status, but also much much easier to do.

Do you think its worth GE'ing at least the R-60Ms and flares on the MiG-29? Or what is your opinion on stock grind in general? Happy new years btw

Considering that he isn’t in Gaijin’s partner program I don’t think his bad takes are based on snail orders. From what I’ve seen his air RB gameplay mainly consists of him flying out a plane with good guns and taking 4 people head on, killing 3 and trading with the 4th, his commentary is generally “4 kills in a match that’s pretty good”.

Honestly debating getting the Mirage-F1C-200, mainly because I wanna get the mirage-2000 and the Milan is pure hell to grind with and I do know the F1C isn’t the best jet and the magic 2s are its only pros.

Ive had an ok experience spading the f1c tech tree, if you omit the radar missles for the gun pods ive had much more fun and success. The gun pods are only like 80kg each(unless they changed it) and ive gotten so many more kills this way. If you are tryna spade the f1c try it out, might work for you

I also got rid of the radar missiles for the gun pods. FAR superior experience. Go with 2 magic 2, 1 IR 530, and 2 gun pods. Plane still sucks but you'll suffer less.

I would say that if Mirage F1 gets a proper PD radar Matra530 (the one without any character) can be good in 11.3, but sadly Gaijin says NO MTI radar is not a PD one🤣.

12:40 big dumb J-7E. Always turn off the radar gun sight. It gives people RWR pings, and does nothing for you except take up space on your screen. I think they allow missile slaving to it now but, idk why you'd use it they still basically need to be right in front of you regardless.

if your talking props, generally USA always has bad teams, the planes require you to know how to energy fight, and with mostly 50 Cals as their main guns they also require good aim new players usually go to the big 3, most commonly USA or Germany, and that causes a lot of new players to turn fight in American planes that aren't good turn fighters. the planes are good by themselves, they just don't work for people who are new. When I am playing props, I always assume a zero is more of a threat than a P-51, you don't need skill to constantly keep turning, a P-51 does that and they die. It's nearly the same for jets to be honest, when most people are buying the AV-8A or A-10, they spend most of their time getting kills with good missiles, and when they finally get the jet they want: F-16, F-14, F-4, they have no idea how to maneuver well. 5 years ago this wasn't a problem, since no premiums had super good all aspect missiles that gets you an easy kill just by hitting some buttons.

Take a look at "improved" flight model of Fw 190 A5. It's now the worst 4.7 fighter one can find. A5U2 and A5U12 also got ruined in the process.

It's not the plane's fault that Gaijin seriously expects you to dogfight F16 in jets that are basically just flying busses stacked with missiles. Top Tier air combat is an utter joke. I still like the Mirage. It looks very beautiful too.

It's kinda funny, I picked this thing up for no other reason than to grind French tech tree, first 3 games I got 4 kills. And I am a crap jet player, tbh. I guess it's just the difference between a normal player and a power gamer on the bleeding edge of meta....I enjoyed it well enough and it does what I wanted it to do: Gain RP. 3 of those kills were with the 530E's. Maybe I just got lucky and only had to fight potatoes even worse than I am. It could be a thing. LOL That F-14 at about 7:30? Yeah, that wasn't the tree...that was the squirrels. Squirrels are OP. 😜

You mentioned about turning radar off, which radar is it exactly? I primarily grinding with F5C

This thing is sad even in full downtiers. I'd take the F-5C or the SMT over this thing any day of the week. The Mirage 2000C did get a top speed buff so if someone is gonna get this to grind it out then I kinda get it tho.

The F1 shot down an F14 IRL and can’t even shoot anything down in WT

I have that feeling that the F1 don’t get the love it deserve.. maybe because I’m French, don’t know, but I often go back to the F1C and always end up with 4 or 5 kills per game with this one… a score I can have with a Mirage-2000 or a MiG-29 You just need to manage your missiles for when they can be utile (and not to shoot magic 2 head on at 1.5km for example) and learn to lead the guns…

I have been flying the F-4E recently and it feels similar to the Mirage F1, having slightly better radar missiles but a much worse radar with similarly poor performance.

I fly both (in sim). The Mirage is bad at low speed turning fights because it designed for high speed turning. While the F4E is the opposite alongside with the Mig21BIS/Smt. In sim i had no problems with outturning 21's/23's and phantoms. All i had to do is maintain some speed

Actually 2000D is really good AC for cas in ground rb. Obviously 27K is still best cancer you can face in ground rb but 2000D with two nords and lgbs just enough to make suffering for grounds unit as well. Guarantee ground four kills just like the loadout you shown in this vid and the basic performance which is based on 2000C are insane compare to other shitty ass french high tier jets.

Also 530E was good missile when release with 3C but now a days just use like 9B to make enemy manuver to reduce their energy.

idk mate maybe with the new top dogs it's harder but I had a 67% win rate with the F1C out of 131 games before the patch with 1.6KD. Sure the radar missile are easily chaffed but not everyone has enough braincell to do it. Magic 2s are just the best IR missile after the R27s and will ignore flares completely in rear aspect shots unless they pull some crazy maneuvers with it.

It’s a one trick pony but it performs the trick well. First: it is NOT a J-7E. You don’t have the wings to pull the same crap. With that out of the way, you can get a good win rate and KD ratio by just orbital striking people from 40k feet with PL-5b. Most people won’t see it coming and you get easy kills. If someone notices you though, you will die. You don’t have all aspect missiles so you HAVE to go defensive and at high altitudes you will turn like a cruise ship. You might not have time to notch properly. TLDR: Stay high and orbital bomb people but be inconspicuous. You get focused down you will die.

@@Bennyy85 The 5b has a very long range but a short booster. It is a good missile because there is no long smoke trail for people to see and flare. The 7 has a very good pull but it is super flare hungry and extremely short range. You need to be within 2km to hit anything. It just decelerates so fast. When you are that close, people see you and just flare it.

This can only happen because air right now should be minimum 13.0 for the top br

Kinda unrelated to the video, but the french Tier 6-7 progression feels so weird, too many planes at the same BR. If they removed/added armament options for several planes that would open some gaps and make the progression more natural imo.
