Yeah, it's good to have some characters that might have more niche appeal. I am a girl and I like the guy even if I prefer Jiyan or Calcharo design. On the other hand I am not like the majority that go crazy over Scar... People have different tastes and it's good to see Kuro is not just feeding the majority...

@@Kyroliger yeah man, we're so conditioned with Genshin's lack of generosity, that Star Rail's feels unbelievable. You get the usual premium gems for maintenance, and then the 7-day login event gives you 10 pulls. Not sure if ZZZ will do the same, but seems likely.

I know genshin is stingy and hsr started the generosity train, but I’ve never heard of any gacha ever given straight up 10 pulls per maint. That’d be insane lmao But yeah, by what you’re saying ZZZ is doing exactly that. We just got our second 7 day login that gives limited currency pulls.

I don't think 1000 guide submissions is really a big milestone. I mean yes 30 is nothing, but oh well. So far it hasn't been that bad, we've gotten 20 limited pulls from login events, we will get 10 bangboo pulls from another login event, we got a 10 pull for 50M milestone. Maybe more? I can't remember everything. Yes, its not as generous as WuWa has been, but its not horrible either. Hopefully like HSR we will get a 10 pull login from each patch. One thing I wish all hoyo games would do though is 100% guarantee on weapon banners. It just feels bad when you lose the 75/25

Almost makes me disappointed that I dropped HSR a few months after launch, the game seems like it's in a good place. Luckily that and HI3 are the only games I've put more than a couple days of time into, because it means I have no other gacha game investments and not feel like I'm missing out by starting WuWa last week.

It's great! I got every 5 star I tried for. Even when I hadn't been playing and that purple girl dropped, I dropped back in the game to do daily stuff and got her without much trouble. Genshin on the other hand... 😂 Go across entire land scouring it for chests and Speedruning HOURS of dialogue

Everyone is talking about how "Wuwa is gatekeeping more of their possible audience because they are releasing too many guys" but like thats how the game started in the first place. The first 5 star was Jiyan and still did pretty good in revenue. Anyways I think these people have no basis because thats just what is advertised when you start the game if you see the banner cycle its male female male female which to me is great I like to see well done males too though who cares about gender tbf just make good characters which they are doing.

I feel like Wuwa attract PC gamer more than ZZZ did and Wuwa Mobile performance was terrible at launch so that definitely affect the sales But yes, Hoyo name is just already too big and famous at this point so they have much easier time selling ZZZ than Kuro who is still relatively unknown outside of the gacha space, being able to break out of that bubble with Wuwa is already a huge success despite the lack of Covid buff that Genshin got during their release. I hope Kuro keep up their good work and still being generous to their player base instead of following Hoyo example of milking everything they could because they can

True, most of my friends who still played genshin all said the same thing, it's mainly because they already invest too much time and some of them even whales a bit in genshin, so unless WuWa can literally keep them occupied for a whole day nonstop each patch they won't be stopping genshin anytime soon, tho some of them stopped whaling in genshin and now whales on every character tho, having max jinhsi and her weapon, yinlin and jiyan.. I'm jelly lmao

On the west, yes. But the west makes less than 35% of revenue. 80% of players in the east (mainly japan and china) play on phone, and those are about 60% of the revenue, so all in all PC sales are not that relevant.

The Wuwa characters look good. The male simple color scheme (grey-black-blue) is perfect for him, it's more symbolic of his character that as a cyborg simple=efficient, no needs for bells and whistles. As for the girl, her more modest-librarian look is perfect! We don't need a Yinlin every patch, and she has glasses! Do we have any other character with glasses? (Aalto doesn't count he has sunglasses). Enjoyed the video but the end dance is epic. 😂😂😂

Im still happy for WuWa and Kuro Games. They came from just one game that almost not making a lot of money but now they have one that can potentially be on top 3. I'm might not be a whale but I monthly buy the Pioneer Pod cast and the monthly asterite subs. I just hope that the game will be more optimized for android this uo coming months.

7:38 majority of CN advocated for playing on PC. I believe 70% of CN playerbase for WuWa is PC while 30% is mobile

playing both but sticking to WuWa. ZZZ doesn’t feel F2P friendly enough. WuWa feels like a gacha that respects players’ time and i’m all for that. Hope Kuro games continues the service of such an amazing game

Kuro was never looking to make WuWa the "Genshin Killer". Just to dip their foot in the market. I've been loving the game so far. I've also been really liking ZZZ. It's a different style of game that I can appreciate. People need to stop fighting and appreciate the good games we've been getting.

the download in zzz is mostly ghost download. i have a mobile that i used to pre register and it made me download zzz upon release but i cant open it and it got removed from playstore cuz of incompatibility issues and i bet this thing happened in most downloads

I've had the darndest time keeping track of everyone's names in WuWa. 😅 I've had some bad RNG on the time-limited characters, and completely missed out on the general guy (the leader of the Midnight Rangers), and missed out on the puppeteer lady. But I did get Taoqi, who I really took to. I really like her moveset. Also randomly got Verina, the 5-star "flower girl," from the normal banner (I lucked out there). Also lucked out with the lion dance dude, Yianling, I think his name is? Also got the gym owner boxer dude, Yuanwu, as well as Mortefi, Aalto, and Calcharo, from the normal banner. Also just got Jinhsi the other day. Right on my first ten-pull try. I was ecstatic! I really like her moveset.

They did give 1,600 polychrome for the 50 million downloads. Also the large amount of free pulls makes it easy to get characters especially in the beginning so i think it also reduces sales

I have a slight issue with how ZZZ drip feeds materials and pull currency from too many sources. Almost every gameplay mode has an additional menu at the bottom to unlock progression currency, after many quests you get the quest reward, and then have to run to the police mascot to get his chump change, the redeem codes are pretty tiny, yet fairly numerous, and then these mail rewards are fairly tiny at times... Its so much running around and menu navigation to consolidate all of these sources. Its a forced time sink mechanic and I hate it. Can't they just kill these secondary progression menus and stuff and roll it into the actually clear currency so I don't have to run around collecting scraps and my clears feel more rewarded? Also tell me I'm not the only one that thinks after clearing the Bangboo Trainer league mission that we should have been given a free copy of the Shark Bangboo since he was "free" in the mission and it would have been an absolutely great reward for how long that mission is?

Honkai Star Rail actually seems pretty decent in that aspect, for a hoyo game. I still wouldn't recommend any other game from them. Star Rail is fun if you like the JRPG format

ZZZ DID have a larger launch than Genshin, HSR, and wuwa. However it did not incentivise spending due to a lack of actually being able to use your characters. In the first 20+ hours of the game, you spend about 16-18 HOURS of that purely in the story or hub worlds, completely unable to see the characters you rolled for. Why would I spend hundreds for a character I cant even LOOK at?

I cant play it on my phone, it says not compatible, yet i was able to download it day1 and it crashes every time

Also that ZZZ song has a similar chord progression as Careless Whisper, and I can't unhear it

Most important about zzz vs wuwa revenue is that its mobile revenue. Massive majority of wuwa players is pc, where zzz is catered towards mobile.

zzz literally has a unlimited fps feature which would burn up phones but spit ur shi my guy

I have a feeling ZZZ is going to follow Genshin's path which is treating players like trash. That was the main reason why I quit Genshin and because of how few rewards they gave to players through its trashy time-consuming exploration and events back then. (I wonder if It has got better since I left a year ago).

Luckily it won’t. We get a clean S rank at 50 pulls on regular banner and then a selector at 300 pulls. A little steep, but already better than genuine by miles. Which isn’t saying a lot, or a huge bar to clear

I'm having fun in both WuWa and ZZZ. Sue me.

isnt that 30 currency just random event on their app? I mean not a big deal of event to give 10 pulls.

I don't play Wuwa but I don't see any problem with Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao design. Though their name sound too repeatative.

Its because of their servers,some countries and providers just dont want to connect to China servers/networks (because of politics and also security issues). You need VPN and/or dissable IPv6 on your network. Atleast thats what worked for me.(Still uinstaled it after few hours).

I play all four games, and I think it's great there's competition. I remember being completely heartbroken when I tried Tower of Fantasy. I could see the development budget was decent, but my impressions was that they didn't focus enough on gameplay and character design. I'd much rather they released a smaller world, but without such glaring weaknesses. Once the early game is cemented with flaws, that's going to hurt the game's user retention forever, even if there's improvement in later patches. ZZZ surprised me in a positive way. I knew the game is not exactly open-world, but the end result was a quite immersive experience.

definitely not enough pulls for ZZZ to be a free F2P friendly game. Ill continue to spend my money here and there on HSR and keep grinding on WUWA. I think I will stick with those 2 games

PS5 release is gonna be sooner and they're fixing everything about the game for mobile optimization as well that's why 1.2 is some kinda stale compared to 1.1

Considering how hardware demanding wuwa is, its actually impressive how they were able to get those numbers.

100% agree when you said not every character has to look flashy like changli/yinlin

I said this before but issue is you won’t get the “funny” (haha guys her boobs are huge right guys, horny posting so funny) reactions from streamers when they look at these models, which is also a factor in character popularity when people see a streamer go “yooo this character looks sick” and sadly as of late these types of reactions are preserved for tall female models mainly and also tall male models just because of their model, and not much else. I really would like to see more than just tall male/female model every patch it will get hella stale.

Lets be brutally honest here if it weren't for the fact that ZZZ is a Hoyoverse game I don't think it would even make over 10 million at launch, like look at the bigger picture here HSR made 40mil with only 14 million pre-registrations meanwhile ZZZ only made half of what HSR has made for a game that has over 50 million pre-registrations, the game is mid at best it's only successful because of the brand it's the same thing as Apple who keeps releasing the same soulless products for decades yet people will buy them because of the fact that it's made and manufactured by Apple.

I do tend to like characters that could be out of my fantasy romance novels over just another shounen anime. Shark girl doesn't pique my interest at all, but I had a hard time deciding between Jinhsi and Changli

just checked my ZZZ mail, and the 50mil milestone thank you gift is 1600 polychromes, not 30.

The dude is going to be free btw. I'll probably be pulling his weapon instead. He looks like he will work really well with Yinlin.

25mil with 50mil downloads, so if 1mil bought monthly pass plus BP, that's already 15mil so this number is not that big.

Jiyan was the first SSR for Wuwa (A dude) Ellen for ZZZ (A girl) we all know that girls > boys in most of gacha games

One thing I am wondering about ZZZ is after the inital launch, will they have more trouble bringing new players in. I personally was pretty surprised and totally understand the appeal to ZZZ. But imo the game starts off much slower than the other Hoyo games. Right now we have players who have been exciting for the game for a long time and were going to get to end game regardless. Will new players quit early due to the slow start down the road? It will be interesting. As for Wuwa I really hope they keep making decent money. Its my current favorite and Kuro is much smaller than Hoyo so i just hope the revenue is constant so they can keep making the game better

Zhezhi looks unique, u dont see gacha girl characters with her aesthetic. I also feel like if WuWa came first on the gacha scene before genshin it would’ve made a lot more. Genshin already cemented the genre because it was refreshing to play a quality game back then.

Xiangli Yao looks really great. Zhethi looks good to but i cant help but feel like she looks like a watered down version of Songque of HI3

Everyone wants a piece of the gacha market pie but that pie isn't getting bigger, the slices can only get smaller.

I think another thing to note with the high downloads but lower revenue for ZZZ is that it's the 3rd major Hoyoverse release. I think players are just playing it safer/smarter/wiser spending their money on pulls and resources after getting burnt on the previous two games. Hahaha.

Genshin and Wuwa settings just dont vibe with me, the more futuristic, cyberpunk kinda feel from ZZZ is more appealing and the characters just look better to me

When calculating the revenue of a game, please remind that ALL of them are ESTIMATED except official announcement, besides, types of platforms should be considered, e.g., PC/PlayStation/Android/iOS For example, WW can only run on PC/high-end mobile, ZZZ can be played at more platforms. So which platforms are the source of these revenue is important.

if Xiangli Yao looks ordinary then what about Jiyan or Calcharo? They also look ordinary but are not. In fact, Xiangli is more unique-looking cause of his mechanical arm

I dropped ZZZ swiftly, but it ran super well on my phone. WuWa ran kinda rough, but was decent. I really wonder how much this impacts mobile numbers as well.

I have the opposite problem, even with medium and low quality ZZZ always fry my phone and lags terribly then crash so I can only play around 20 minutes. Wuwa is more stable.

I really hope kuro makes more 4 star characters it adds more team diversity quicker than 5 stars to the game. Thats one thing of the few things i was happy about in genshin. They made more 4 stars(even though most were lack luster compared to launch 4stars) which added alot more faces to the collection.
