    It's somewhat practical. Most moths lack any self-defense mechanism so instead they mimic more threatening creatures. This moth's large wings are meant to resemble a pair of snakes, you can see the snake's "face" at the upper edges of the wings.

    Amazing... There are so many insects/animals in this world that have one sole purpose like these do and they somehow know it instinctually. It makes me think about how we, as humans, still don't truly know our purpose on earth and we live far longer than only 24 hours.

    That's a clear and honest observation which most material scientists ignore . You may think it is an honest observation but science hijacked by materialist dogmas dnt see any purpose or value in life . For them it's just a big accident . Such outlook on life after escaping the academic breeds ideas of selfishness ,loneliness and hopelessness. Reducing the worth of human being down to survival , worth of family as a means to passing your genes on and worth of happiness and contentment defined by the money you earn and worth of our purpose turned into a 12 hr Corporate Job earning enough to keep our head above water as rising inflation will certainly wipe out savings along with rising debts. . Your outlook on life is nothing but pure and honest . Very few acknowledge it. Just like all animals Human beings have a purpose too . Far greater purpose than being a corporate wage slave and far more consistent than the emotion arguments of darwinists wrapped in rationality . Purpose to acknowledge the Creator , worship him alone without any other false entity , feeling gratefull towards his creation and making our life much better and meaning to our sufferings.

And I was never able to learn about them online because i never knew what they were called, it was only about 2 years ago that i finally knew their name at a museum, "Atlas Moth"

    It's incredible that such an incredible insect could evolve such an amazing wing pattern and even a more complex sensory system to detect the females pheromones . How did these moths find each other during their evolutionary process prior to the development of these sensory organs that exceeds any equipment we currently have for that degree of sensitivity when they had such little time to find each other to mate. They would also need to have both the male and females develop into a moth over this very short time frame. Seems to go against evolution when random chance can develop such a complex animal and yet can't develop a mouth and stomach to allow it a much higher chance of it surviving. That's evolution for you , taking credit for designs that engineers and architects have barely been able to copy with the help of computers and programs that have been developed over the last 5 decades and 100's of thousands of hours of research.

  • @irockusuck234

    @irockusuck234

    I suppose the problem itself is the solution isnt it? Seeing as the lifespan of the moth is so short, any moths without extremely sensitive antennae to detect the pheromones would fail to mate and thus not pass on its genes, that leaves only the moths with sensitive antennae, which would reproduce and so on...natural selection is a beauty ❤ subhanallah

    The vast majority of insects spend most their lives as larvae, where they eat as much as they can to store energy which they will use later for mating purposes. The "adult" (imago) stage is usually solely for the purpose of mating, thus eating is only a secondary priority. In species in which the larvae are long-lived (and thus eat a lot), they usually have enough stored energy that their adult forms don't need to eat anymore. So once they find a mate and lay eggs, they die of starvation.
