Great informative content guys! Really appreciate how you've taken the time to upload for each day, it's a brilliant idea! We are doing this same cruise shortly and as I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to having the correct paperwork could you please reconfirm exactly what's needed including the travel form available 72 hours prior to departure? I think you were going to mention more along these lines but got sidetracked 😂

A big thanks again for watching. I don't blame you for panicking about paperwork as it certainly can have a massive impact if you forget something. If you check the cruise planner on the Tui site there should be a checklist and everything you need to do. Do you have a Tui shop near you, i cannot remember with 100% confidence so always best to go in and have a chat with them if you want that re-assurance you have everything, we are lucky in our town as the staff there are brilliant. I believe we had our passports (ensure they have at least 6months remaining), our airline boarding cards , Immigration form which we were able to complete 72hrs from departure. The form is not complicated to complete and we then printed off copies, there are examples online to view. I believe we also printed off from the cruise planner a ship boarding pass and obviously before you travel you will be able to print off your luggage labels. I would advise you take the main summary page of your travel insurance ensuring you have cruise cover (We have never been asked to actually show this though). I think that was everything but check out the cruise planner and if any uncertainties i would say go into Tui shop for help and advice. Have a great cruise, sure you will relax big time when onboard. Great first video of your Christmas cruise gents, looking forward to see more. We were on the Discovery over Christmas and looks like we did a similar itinerary. Really enjoyed our time onboard, even though we didn't end up getting our chosen cabin (midship) they put us right at the Aft! We got used to the horrendous swaying after 3 nights and just had a few extra cocktails 🤣 Great food, great entertainment and fantastic staff. ❤

Thanks for watching and for you lovely comments. We loved the layout of the Discovery ship, the Voyager was not so easy to navigate but we have now had 2 fabulous cruises with Marella. Glad the extra cocktails did the trick. We have always managed to get midship so no extra cocktails 🍹 for me! Glad you have same opinion of Marella. Hi, thanks for watching. I am planning on putting out 2 diary video's a week so unfortunately i will not get to your cruise before you go ☹. We only did 2 excursions on the 'Taste of the tropics' cruise. We did Tobago South tour, would not recommend, the stops are poor but our guide was fabulous and made the trip. We did Pidgeon Island and Catamaran to the Pitons. This was probably our favourite excursion. The Pitons are beautiful especially on a sunny blue sky day. We had poor weather by the time we got there but our crowd on the boat were brilliant and we partied on the way back to Port. Not guaranteed though and not always wanted by everyone. We did our own thing on other islands. If you like the beach then Grenada you can get water taxi just as you get off the boat which will take you to Grande Anse beach for $10 return per person. It was a nice place to spend some time. St Vincent we went to Botanical gardens and a look around the town, an excursion on this day would have been a better choice. Kicking myself that we didn't do Bequia. Guadaloupe we just explored the town, ok and we found a cafe with good internet which we had been starved of. So i would say we had 4 really good trips, 1 ok and 1 poor so overall not too bad. If there is anything else i can help you with then just throw me a question. Wow 🎉thank you so much for all the information! This is our first ever cruise, so cruise for a week and stay in barbados for a week 🥰We have booked, the Pirates Schooner boat for St Vincent (keep looking at Bequia though!), Jeep tour and Piton catamaran for St lucia, Death in paradise in Guadeloupe, our own thing for Tobago, and the rhum runner for Grenada so hoping we have made right choice 😁🙈we are loving your videos 🍹🍹🍹🍹

You must be so excited, I'm sure you will love it. Looks like you have all the bases covered with some excellent trips, a nice variety too. I wanted to do Bequia as we have done St Vincent before but it wasn't to be and gives me an excuse to go back again one day. It's supposed to be beautiful and unspoilt. Thanks for watching and for your kind words. Shame we didn't get more out before you go. I wish i was going again! You will have a great time. You are likely like us to find niggles but there is so much more good and Marella is all about having fun. Staff and other passengers we find so friendly. Silver Fork was brilliant, we also enjoyed the food at Kora La and Surf and Turf. In our opinion worth spoiling yourself for. The Exchange for 'The Heist', one of the funniest nights we have had on the cruise. Managed to also get into 'The Lock in' but if you get the chance do the 'Heist'. Unfortunate that tickets are so hard to get but we kept trying and got there eventually. Vista as non speciality is superb, they do a nice steak there on some nights. This was our favourite place for breakfast also. Hopefully i will get a few more diary days out before you go. Have a great time and please come back and let us know how you got on. We are going on our first Marella cruise in the Caribbean in February.. was wondering how you managed using your mobile while travelling different islands

Last year we sailed the western med and central America. We have a video about the internet on our Marella Discovery 2 playlist. We took out the £90 wifi package and learnt a lesson, it went in 12hrs! We found the ports on that cruise excellent for wifi and expected that they would be the same on our latest cruise but this was not the case. wifi at the ports was extremely slow and very hit or miss. But we were adamant we were not going to take out a Marella package again. If internet is important to you do not rely on the ports if you are on the 'Paradise Islands' or 'A taste of the Caribbean' cruises. Our friends who came with us this year took out an esim before they left and that worked reasonably well for them so may be worth checking with your phone provider or an alternative. Hope this helps. 🙂

We are doing the same trip in April. You get the chance to choose your cabin when booking, but it doesnt say which on deck 2 and 3 are portholes or windows. Looking at the outside it looked like deck 2 had portholes and deck 3 had windows like your cabin, is that correct?

Hi Peter. We actually had the same dilemma when we booked last year on Discovery 2. We went mid ship on deck 3 as from pictures we could see they all looked like the square windows. Ours worked out fine. I believe the port hole windows are below deck 2 and I presume are staff cabins. There do seem to be some at the end of the ship on deck 2 though. All the brochures show an outside room with a square window so I think there would be advertising issues if you end up with a porthole. I think you will be fine but to be sure I would try and get cabin towards mid ship on deck 3. Hope this helps, sorry I can't be 100%. Sure you will have a great cruise.

Thanks for that. I may give tui a call or go to my local tui agent and see if I can get any confirmation on windows and choose a cabin with a square window. If there are any left. When I booked there wasn't many cabins left. Great videos, lots of very useful information. I may be back with more questions🙂😊

Is the immigration forms to.filled out per person and is there a cost? TIA.

Hi Rick, sorry for delay in getting back to you but we have only just got back from cruise in Adriatic, so lots to catch up on. I really don't want to give you the wrong answer so ii will say what i do remember. We were sent a link to fill in the immigration form by Tui and i remember it being fairly straight forward. This form could only be done 72hrs or less before departure. There was no cost but the bit i can't remember is whether it was one form for everyone or whether it was one each. All i can say is don't worry it was fairly straight forward procedure. Hope this helps. Its a great cruise. 🙂
