This is one of Tom Hanks’ greatest movies. This film did an outstanding job portraying mental health as well as the problems we have in society that contribute to it. Otto had many reasons why he was grumpy and I look at him as a broken man who needed some love in his life because he experienced so much heartbreak and loss. Truly a wonderful movie! ❤

It's a good remake of a Swedish movie (A Man Called Ove, from 2015), so it's really portraying Swedish society and not really the USA that struggle with vastly bigger social issues.

Usually when there is a US remake of a European movie it do not turn out that good but this was really good. The only thing i missed was the flashback to his childhood and his relationship to his father.

One of the most tragic yet most beautiful. Watched it a second time and cried harder even knowing they portrayed it was going to happen. He met people that gave him a purpose and truly cared took his mind away and got him out of the house even if he still thought about the bus and the horrible fate of his wife but ugh it seemed he passed at least pleased or even happy with what he was able to do with that big heart

Watching your reaction to this movie is probably as close as I'll come to watching it. I lost my wife 4 years ago, so this hits close. Also the date of passing on the headstone for Otto's wife is the same as my wife. Enjoyed watching your reaction. I'm always so impressed by all of you girls.

Of all the Tom Hanks films I grew up watching it on Television & Theaters, I must say though that after seeing "A Man Called Otto", I started to break down into tears feeling both happy and sad just how experiencing that movie became for me. That movie help me through with my depression & I just love things how it shows that people care and can care for those who are suffering with depression or loss of a love one. Most importantly....

So glad you two watched and really enjoyed A Man Called Otto. I watched this movie a couple months ago and laughed and cried as well. Absolutely loved it. I loved Tom Hank's performance and his character, Otto and I really loved his neighbor, Marisol and her children. Marisol was just such a gift for Otto and helped him so much. Love Tom Hanks and think he is a national treasure. ❤

I recently lost my Dad (brain cancer) after caring for him by myself in my home for two years. I can relate so well to Otto! Being by myself now, I’m trying to find my new purpose after caring for someone for so long. I’m grateful I have options, I want for nothing, have everything I need and can take the time to consider what might be next. I hope to do some traveling to places I haven’t been, Ireland, Brazil, Mexico (again, I love it there and have considered buying property there). Anyway, I watched the movie by myself and didn’t really have any expectations but was I so moved by this movie, perhaps more than any I’ve seen. First! I need a Mexican woman like Marisol! I’m glad I watched it by myself because I shed a couple of tears, just a couple. Don’t tell anyone. Thank you for making this video. I have never watched someone watching a movie but I was also so very moved by each of you. Your friendship is wonderful, I think you’ve both been through a lot and having a good friend is worth more than anything else in this world. I think I have a good gift of reading people and am a good judge of character and you’re both very genuine and good people. I hope and wish only the very best of everything for each of you. Never give up, you never know the impact you can have on a person, even one you do not know all the way in Canada.

It's very faithful with core message, the dark humor and story, something are changed and adapted for American audiences ofcourse but it follows the core very well. The biggest change is almost just name changes. Ove changed to Otto, Marisol is an Iranian woman named Parvaneh and he drives a Saab instead of a Chrysler. There is a English translation and i would definitely say its worth reading. "A man called Ove"
