A Malaysian + Korean couple married for 38 years | international marriage love story

A Malaysian + Korean couple who got married at a time when there wasn't much international interaction. They remind me of my mom and dad in the way they have fun even when they're bickering.

In Malaysia being married to different cultures or foreigners is a normal sight. We welcome them with malaysian hospitality and accept them as one of us. There no discrimination or anything bad. Thats why Malaysia are called Malaysia Truly Asia, all cultures comes together as one. Even in Malaysia itself, marrying into different tribes is a common thing here. Chinese married to Indian, Malay married to chinese and the lists goes on. Cultures differences, beliefs and language differences that what make us Malaysia unique.

I think they're my favourite couple to appear in this show 😂 They're so cute together! 😆😍
Still a very pretty Malaysian lady. Still looks similar to when she was young. Radiant complexion, elegant ✨️.
It's sad when her cries of hopelessness are being ignored by her husband and the panelists of the show. I'm sure she had her happy moments but just by what she had said, she had been living in a fishbowl. She doesn't even get to see Korea much. Being out to see her students took off alot of her weights and makes her steps lighter. My heart goes out to her. Her whole life had been sacrificed for her family. I was hoping the show would have help to point out ways to help her out of her situation. She needs a holiday rather than renewing her vows and her expressions throughout the show said it all. Being Asians, grandparents would full-heartedly offer to help care for their grandkids. Being a Malaysian daughter I would like to offer her half-Malaysian daughters these advise. While your mum help to care for your kids, please help to care for her most cherish heart and feelings. Ask her what would make her happy if you can't already guess. Take her out for a drink, makan-makan, to the pasar, to visit friends, create youtube channel together even maybe!! Give her off days. I know kids who allocate their all of their annual leaves for their own selfish holidays and forgot their parents deserve some too. Appreciate her. As a nyonya, I would like to wish her.. mintak tachi panjang-panjang umur, hati senang slalu, murah rezeki. Toksa slalu kekki. Kalu tak puas hati, bilang aja. Jangan simpan dalam hati.

I am also not a fan that he said talking your wife down in front of his mum is the same everywhere else in the world. I am Chinese, but my partner is Austrian, and he never does that in front of his mum. In a normal Austrian household, I have never seen anyone doing that. Positive reinforcement is more the norm in western and northern parts of Europe. The uncle reminds me of my grandma. She always belittles us, especially me and my mum, because we immigrated to Austria in 2002 and she is still salty about this.

The old man needs to be more understanding. He's busy taking care of other's feelings and neglecting the person who wakes up to him everyday. I'm sure it's very frustrating for Ruby
Im a Malaysian here. This is really a good show to watch and had fun too. Both of them really hilarious even had married for 38yrs.
This is what pure love meant....I can sense a strong woman will and a very appreciating husband after seeing them....I pray happiness everlasting to both of them and their family also.... This is refreshing ❤
I am crying while watching this show they’re love story is so pure for 38 years they really love each other even when they argue the love is over flowing, I envy your relationship ❤❤❤God bless you with many more years of togetherness ❤❤❤
I pity her. There are things that she wants to do but can’t because of her husband and children. She already raised her children, and now her granddaughter. When will she rest and find time to do things for herself?

Same man my thoughts exactly, the backwards tradition of some conservative family needs to go man. Let the woman live her live a little, I hope the tv station send them to a trip or something.
i do agree with some comments i read, the husband did not just dont know how to take care oh their grandchildrens but also dont know her wife favourite things. not just that, i feel like aunty ruby is trapped with her family and spent her whole life with husband and when i look at her, i sense that she wants to do more than just staying at home. and why does the twins are separated? why not take care both the twins at the same time? they are cute couple ngl, but her husband doesn't really know her wife that much and this long relationship is nothing but love.
Anyone who marries foreigner and bring them to their home country should be thankful for their spouse's sacrifice because living in another country is not easy at all. New customs, not being able to see family & friends, new language, new environment, it just requires a lot of sacrifice from the spouse.
The daughter should look after her own baby and let her parents rest and have lives.
Ruby must have sacrifice so much back then. Seeing this as a Malaysian, i can feel even more about it. Good luck and all the best to this cute couple!!
Omg the wife even wearing traditional attire (kebaya) from malaysia ❤ love from 🇲🇾
Yes, more older couples please who can pass on their wisdom/experience! 😅But I love how diplomatic she was when she was asked if she would remarry him in the next life. To be honest, I think a lot of women if not most would say no, they wouldn’t. It’s usually the married women who have it tougher with household chores, childcare, on top of their own jobs and other responsibilities. If your answer is yes, you must be married to a great guy, or you’re too nice (or lying)! Lol 😆 And just look how she’s still taking care of her husband while raising her grandkids (AND her MIL is still around)! Give her a break and take her on more trips (or give her money so she can go on her own)!
I feel sad abt her. I bet if she is living in Malaysia, she won't be treated like this. Freedom has her name

Ruby is so elegant and gentle, I don't think I know any Malaysian aunties like her (I'm Malaysian living in kl) 😂 and she looks so good in the wedding dress shoot! Couple goals
What an uncaring and unhelpful husband. Married 38-40 yrs(?) and doesn’t know how to care for your grandchild? Proof he didnt do much raising their 2 daughters. Doesnt admire or praise his wife. Take 1 day manning the house like a burden when she does it everyday. These are not your wife’s duty but a shared duty. And of course, a commentator on the show praised him for taking care of his grandchild for 1 day. Nobody praises her for doing everything and caring for her grandchild every single day🙄 What irks me the most is he does not bother to listen to her. Tells her all the things “she doesn’t eat” while she is actively correcting him that she eats those things, and him ignoring her. Blaming it on her that he brings her to the same place to eat out for 40 years, not his own laziness and lack of care. The fact she went so many years in korea without a single friend besides her students is so devastating to hear. Her family life suffocated her. I think she must ask herself daily why she is still in this marriage, maybe for the sake of her children

yea I def think if she was more secure income wise and her kids not throwing their kids to her, she wouldve divorced him by now. Hes a shitty lover.
This marriage last long, because she feels trapped. I don´t like the way he is treating her. The way he belittles her, it´s like he is better somehow. And I blame the traditional Asian way of raising kids for that because in China is the same. Especially, the generation of my grandparents and my mums. The men of my mum´s generation - some of them are spoiled rotten, because of the importance of the male gender in the Asian tradition. My grandma always belittles me, but never my two younger male cousins. She always wished for me to marry a Chinese, which will never happen because I was raised in Austria in a city where the majority of the population is Caucasian. My partner is Austrian and the only reason she accepts him is because he is a physicist. If my partner belittles me like that, I am gone! My self-worth is more worth than love.

Very nice.. There are a lot of similarities when it comes to the older generation like the husband's mother. She reminds of my grandmother who is still alive until today (she's in her 90s). The older generation women tend to be more disciplined and strict in raising the children. They were not only traditional women but also strong wives and mothers. Yes, over here in Malaysia we do not have (nude) public baths like in Korea or Japan (onsen culture).
