A Luxury Getaway Home with a Garden That Feels Like a Secret Oasis (House Tour)
Ойын-сауық
A luxury getaway home settled on a unique site, Crane Lodge immerses visitors in its natural context. Designed by Secret Gardens, the landscape architecture of the home enhances the sensory experience of the outdoors.
Located in the Sydney suburb of Palm Beach, Crane Lodge sits on an elevated site. The design brief for the landscape of the luxury getaway home centred on creating a sense of arrival whilst allowing access to the house across the terrain. Employing an inclinator, Secret Gardens instils the arrival process with a sense of anticipation and discovery.
Many endangered species of plant are championed in the landscape design of the luxury getaway home and are designed to appear slightly unkempt. Secret Gardens also includes indigenous plants for cooking and educational purposes.
A smattering of boulders surrounds the luxury getaway home, contributing to the impressive character of its external environment. Secret Gardens purposefully positions the swimming pool adjacent to boulders, creating the impression that the amenity emerged naturally.
The materials chosen for the landscape architecture of Crane Lodge express a sympathetic approach to nature. As a result, the luxury getaway home entirely embraces its context, with a landscape design that captures the essence of a bushwalk experience.

Love the way the home is snuggled into the lot. The landscaping looks very natural to the landscape. The inclinator is amazing, and a welcomed additional I would imagine to the maze of steps, which are nicely designed for what looks like a very steep incline. What a getaway.
This is absolutely beautiful. One of the best landscaping featured on your channel. Bravo

I am an architect. I love this space
The homes in the US are massive and generic, the homes in Australia, New Zealand big as well, yet this new generation of homes in the pacific are all unique, being built into there surroundings. They are Luxurious homes without being gotti. Cheers Local Project, keep them coming.

I doubt the average house is large. These days lot sizes are 200 too 350m2, upto 448 in some estate. 500 to 850 is rare. Higher is extremely rare

@@uvaiskomath Australia has the largest homes in the world. You only seeing homes 500+m^2 as large is really telling of the situation. You don't see homes that are massive on a global scale as big. It's not that they aren't, Kt's that we're desensitised and accustomed to it. Be aware of that.

The homes on TLP are certainly not average homes, starting with the materials used in the homes.... they probably fall between 3 and 7 million dollars range, but its also key to keep in mind that Australia and New Zealand have also one of the worlds largest/growing Tiny Home Communities in the World, due to the high costs homes in the area. The average cost of a typical home in the Western World today is about 1.2 million dollars like my home, something that a few years ago would of cost 700k. Due to the high cost were seeing all kinds of alternatives, pre-fab homes are becoming better every year. Robbie Walker has featured one his prior homes on TLP and also has built a Tiny Container Home. Great design great architecture.

Americans are still designing homes like it is the 1800s. It saddens me how a lot of new houses being built look like a farm house.

We’re getting the best of modern design here. I’m going to guess that Australia has its share of generic.
Nature brings out the beauty in a home once its done correctly. The interior and the products inside reflects the thought of the designer and architect.
This is literally my dream home. Most impressive work I've ever seen.

Same here. I haven't another house like this, perfectly blends into the landscape..
Love those natural boulders, and how the landscaping was designed in harmony with them. Stunning!
I like how Jalousie windows are never out of style in Australia.

Thanks so much!
The front of the house really reminds me of the 'what does the fox say' MV I like how nature is everywhere in the space lovely house!
Absolute stunning Landscape! Well done to the Architects! Thank you TLP…
What a fantastic place. And such a palette cleanser coming from an Architectural Digest video of (yet another) awful, soulless LA penthouse. The pool shape is fantastic and I love the Japanese soaking tub & swing chairs. All that lovely greenery. Really excellent.
I just love the natural feel of the design….wow! Awesome.

Stunning. Definitely one of the best landscapes featured on this channel.
Loving the visuals. The music, less so ;)
Excelente lugar. Cada encuadre de la cámara revela muchos rincones secretos, la proximidad con la masiva piedra y la vegetación te hacen sentir integrado a la naturaleza.
Beautiful! I've been to Palm Beach a couple of times... Amazing location 🙏

Great video
I'm moving in!!!!!!
Beautiful. As a lover of greenery, this was fabulous. But… it looked like the cost of planting would be more than my house. 😢
Amazing ❤️❤️❤️.

Please , say the name of the soundtrack for this movie
Garden of dreams. Amazing garden would love to know how much it cost 😜
Notes: **EVERYTHING on the intro exterior (**0:08**)** 0:17 glass house entrance is cool, but is it functional? liked the entrance/stairway @0:30 mark (meaning the stair and accent color), but on a larger scale than what's shown later; **3 shots starting @0:47 are INSANE**; **4 shots from 1:37 are very very good... 2:49-2:54 also (3) and 4 shots from 3:41**; 1:54 plausible non-luxury outside space; @2:30 like how much window (thus light) there is into a common space, as well as the dark deck immediately outside and wood overhang; like bedroom design @3:30; balcony @3:37;
I’d love to know how much this cost!
Hi! I am interested in that funicular monorail! What is the name of the firm that builded this? Thanks in advance!

Hi Maria - I believe the main company that sells these in Australia is actually a company from New Zealand. They are much more common there, especially in Wellington as the city is built on steep hills. If you look up Tom Scott's channel, he has a video on the hundreds of funiculars in Wellington and goes to one of the factories that makes them. I don't think they are made in Australia as they aren't common or necessary, so when you do need one, it is easier to buy one from NZ. I hope this helps 😊
Nice place/ get away. What is the asking price?

Crane Lodge is a nice get away. Definitely like it. Best wishes and profound regards.
Where is this place?
4:38 ELEVATOR?! WTF
It's beautiful although I feel that somehow If I were to stay there overnight, I feel that someone's watching from outside, Thinking about it gives me chills
This project is luxurious but done tastefully at the same time I doesn't look luxurious.
I see trees , I see rocks, I see the water reflection on the pool, but I don't see the complete facade of the buildings. What???? Really really suck for a design inspiration video for architect.
I thought the front looked a mess, not for me. The back though much better.
As a construction person, I can't get over all the safety hazards with the stairs and upright rod fencing.
What lil child dying lawsuit forced yall Aussies to have to put a fence around yall’s swimming pools? This by far is the best fence around the pool I’ve seen on this channel.
Anyone else feel like there’s a huge disconnect between the interior design and the house’s surrounding landscape?
Mould ridden and basic
