I was in high school from 2003-2007 so the Baja was right in my "Oh I wanna buy that" 16 year old wheel house. 20 years later I finally bought one
Mine is an '06 and i love the little guy!
I call my Baja "The stupid cartruck"
Jake talking about my Baja Turbo that Demuro reviewed a couple years back,.. almost brought a tear to my eyes! I'm glad Doug was able to shed light on undoubtedly the best vehicle on the planet! haha.
I belong to the baja community also. I ❤ my baja.
3:00 Thanks for the feature, and all you do for the Baja community!
Just got one(2003). I already love it!
I had to register my turbo Baja in. Puerto Rico as a truck and have to pay more for registration 😂😂.
I hauled a king bed in the Baja and a double door bridge. I need to get another one. But I am gonna build the Expedition Baja this time. Stay tuned until I find another Baja.
I had wanted a Baja since they first came out. Finally found one, a 2003 manual that now has 187000 miles on it. I have put on 150000 of those. What a great truck. I love watching people's reaction when I load up 8 foot sheets of plywood into the short bed and roll out of Lowes.
I wanted one when I saw them for the first time. At the time it wasn't possible. I drive a Subaru Outback Wilderness now, but if one came along that I could afford, I might still pick it up.
Dang now I want one
If I had attained my Subaru appreciation sooner in life I would have DEFINITELY gotten one of these cars (turbo, baby). I think they look awesome!! Thanks for sharing your journey with this car.
Thank you for this great video and channel. This vehicle is quickly becoming a classic. It took being on a waiting list about 6 months in 2011 for my 2006 Baja to arrive at a local Cadillac dealer here in San Antonio, Tx.
I really wanted to pull the trigger on a Baja for my second vehicle. I had a lifted Gladiator on 37s that was sucking up too much gas to daily, so I wanted to get a baja to be my daily. Unfortunately it just didn't make sense to buy out my lease with rates being so high now, so I sold it and made some money. I ended up with a Subaru that seems to be very similar community to the Baja community, a Forester. Not just any Forester, a 2017 Forester Premium Manual that is going to be able to be a great offroader and fun daily driver at the same time. Love the Subaru community so far, very inviting and fun!

Hey, your still part of the subie family. And that's what's important! Sounds like a sweet foz!
Number one thanks for making this video! Number two Connor I am right here with you in Corvallis, its likely I have waved on the road.
Really wish I submitted a video of my manual turbo making over 350hp... sorry I know weird flex, but would've been great for the video
I got one for $1000CAD, she needs some love, 369k km (not miles) and has a 2.2L swapped into it that has only 129k, i put a new oil pain on it and she runs n drives, but needs all the hard and soft brake lines, rockers on both sides and a rear crash bar as theyre rotting away
I found this 2003 Subaru Baja not only in good condition but with a bed extender and the bed topper and a good price too and it’s a 7 hour drive but I would say it would be worth it

@@AdventureGT what are things I should look for/ask? Like replaced and for the recalls?

When the timing belt was last replaced. That's the biggest one. If that belt breaks , it's game over for that engine. Head gaskets. And the rear dog leg rust. In the back doors. I've got a video about it called Subaru Baja review. It talks about alot of the good/bad/and what to look for. Go check it out!
I absolutely love the Baja and wish I had one. My only issue is the front of the Baja doesn’t jive with the rest of the Baja. It’s to pedestrian whereas the rest of the Baja is a bit more adventurous.

I did not no that! I hope you get one!
Yo tengo una camioneta Subaru baja
*sigh* I miss my wife's VDC H6 Baja so much. It's probably why I haven't gotten around to selling my first gen Honda Insight. It's just too cool, even if it's not a good daily as it sits.

You ever thought about getting a new one to VDC swap?? Big fan of the Insight as well

@@AdventureGT I would only do it to a rust free one. And even then I would do an EZ30R with possibly a 6 speed manual. The rust is what ultimately soured my experience with the car since it got to the point where nearly every suspension component needed (and was) replaced.

Same I feel that. So sick of rust. Deff have me considering an ez30R swap as well. Heard the dash fits in no problem.
Better gas mileage with a clean car.
It's strange that I both want and don't want this legacy for the Santa Cruz as well 😅

If you check our our baja list all the info you need is there. It's a jeep Jk bumper.
it looks like an outback wagon without the top part.
