I've seen so many X100V videos at this point. This one was really nicely laid out and edited. I have to say, you got some remarkable shots. Congrats on the wedding, by the way! I got the X100V when it was released and I dropped my other gear and started carrying it everywhere I go and honestly, it has been the gift (to myself) that has kept on giving.

Wow, I really appreciate your take on all of this. People get so caught up in the technical aspects of their hobbies that they forget to just enjoy them. This reminded me to just take it easy and enjoy the process. You really are right about the "everyday" photos being really special.

Absolutely true! I had a similar experience when i started in photography, almost a decade ago. I suffered a lot from GAS , pixel pipping and pixel perfect photos to a point of obsession! I spend thousands euros on a full frame DSLR and expensive lenses for no reason (at the time i didn't even knew how to focus properly or how to edit a raw file). It took me years to reconsider myself and then i did a fresh start: i sold everything and started to shoot only with my iPhone. At the same time i spend time on photographic education and money on inspirational books about photography. And finally, on 2019 i decided to go back on a camera again, not a full frame but a camera that has everything i really need. It isn't the X100V (because i need a zoom lens) but its in the same league (Sony a6000). Nice video my friend!

I just watched your video about the Fuji x100v and I have to say, I completely agree with your assessment of this camera. It sounds like the perfect choice for someone who values the experience of taking photos over technical specs and resolution. The fixed lens and film recipes seem like they add a unique and nostalgicically-inspired touch to the images it captures. I also love how compact and unassuming the camera is, allowing it to blend into everyday life and capture candid, meaningful moments without intimidating the subject. It's clear that the Fuji x100v has been a game-changing camera for you and has helped you rediscover the joy of simply taking photos. Great video, thanks for sharing!

1:20 yep, nailed it. The x100v was my gateway to actual photography. It relieved me from having the highest specced gear and it made me aware of other things more important in photography. I know it could have been any other camera to make me feel that way, but the x100v was the one for me and that’s why it is so special to me.

Same experience but with the x100T. I'd shot for years with a DSLR and never really made much progress or development in making images. The x100t's combination of portability, image quality, accessibility, and being able to see the exact outcome of your shot in the viewfinder gave me a big boost in skill level (not to mention I was shooting a LOT more), and for the first time I was able to better grasp what it took to make an interesting photo, and compose based on quality of light. I've moved on to the XT body but I doubt I'll ever be able to sell my beaten and battered x100T because of what it means to me.

Nailed it: it always felt stupid to simply document your life with over the top equipment. As a consequence, I’ve always left my big guns at home. For two years, I’ve taken the x100v everywhere and it never felt too much/a burden. On the flip side, when I got back I was often amazed what came out of that little bugger. You really nailed the „who is it for“ part. Thanks.

Man, you nailed it for me. I went all in with a sony A7iv and 3 different lenses. It was fun but it felt like a chore or job or business anytime i picked it up and like you said i felt like i had to shoot something epic all the time. Ended up in a pickle with my car so i had to sell the A7IV setup and bought the X100V and used the rest towards a new car. Now i have a new car and im the most stoked ive ever been to take photos. I take this thing everywhere without even thinking about it. I was so tired of spending hours in lightroom and now everything is sooc.

I really love the look of your photos - of course the vibe and feel of your photos, but also the exposure and lighting in what look to be fairly challenging conditions to making a photo look as warm and intimate as yours do. For example - harsh midday light. But it's fantastic. For a relative beginner like me, I really appreciate seeing a small caption with photos showing the settings and the simulation. I know I know - focusing on the technical and missing the point? Sort of yes, but I'm still working toward making the really challenging look easy so that I too can get onto making these sorts of photos. Great video. Thanks!

Great video - we are all waxing poetic about the X100V, but I think in many ways, it is Fuji's image rendition and color science (not the simulations) that makes for such great images. The portability and UX is top-tier, yes, but it is how the glass (Fujinon is some of the best out there) and the X-Trans sensor combine for these timeless moments. I just wish, deep down, that more folks would move away from full-frame and adopt the APS-C Fujifilm cameras because their glass and rendition is just so unreal. Again, great video Jun!
