Good thing I live in Texas 👍

I have 2 square body Suburbans. One's a 1986 gray/black with a 454 GMcrate motor in it. The other's a 1989 gray/dark blue 4x4 with a 350 motor in it. I ❤ them.

Awesome collection of Square Bodies, Great video, & I'm dieing to see part two! Back in the day my Dad bought a new 1977 C10 reg cab long box that came from the factory with C30 tags on it. The salesman said he had to put the correct tags on the the truck & my Dad said "You aren't touching those C30 tags!" I have so many memories in that truck, maybe someday. Thank you for another great video!

So yeah as soon as I saw the yard I knew exactly where this is!!! I'm 40 and have been passing this place since I was in my teens.. Every time I do I saw im gonna have to stop!! And now I'm building my 1984 I definitely have to stop and buy parts!!!

Thst is an amazing place drooling here .... bug now that green crew cab you got is cool . Looking forward to this sequel lol. I can't believe how many crew czbs he has ...I thought I was lucky with my 79 k30 crew but dude hes hoarding so many lmao im so jealous

Squares have looked like that in Texas my whole life. There were way more 2wd 3/4 running around new when I was in high school with big and littles than 4wd. We bought them new from dealers with straight pipes and factory wides in the bed. We would go straight to tire store and buy mud grips and mount them up.

Hooked us in….. then part 2. Love the forestry vehicles. Had k5 in limited charcoal grey. Heavy duty and stripped down. Full time 4x4 killed me in fuel. Congratulations on new project

Love these videos mang. Im feeling pretty good about my 1985 chevy crew cab 4x4 dually camper special barn find. The story in its self would blow any square body junkies mind. Long story short and being a service plumber i merly asked the home owner if he had any old chevy small blocks laying around for i was wanting to build a motor with my teenage son. And he replied “yeah i have a 454”, and i then replied do you have a tractor or anything to load it into the back of my truck. He then replied “ no you have to take the whole thing”. Being confused i then said whole thing? He then pointed out to the back 40. There she was. Complete running with 93k and 20 k on a rebuild. new trailer breaks and running. Just gave it to me! Very straight with cherried interior. Came back a day later and drove it up onto the flat bed with clean title in hand and the rest is history. This was two years ago. I have since given her a 6”lift with 37” tires and black wheels. Its currently getting a 3/4 restoration to show quality. Stock blue paint with a bit more flak to give it some style. Its blacked out. Super dream find of a lifetime. She will come in at a very nice market price for these are super rare and hardly any for-sale. Only sell though if the price is right, but my son says “ no sale dad”. I said, ok buddy just for now.

I do the same thing with my c20 3/4 ton 2wd square body Chevy trucks usually custom deluxe trucks.. mud tires on wide wheels on the rear .

Wow I'd love to make a trip there but I'm in NC. Also if I was him just for the hell of it if throw some tarps and bungie cords over some of the less rusted ones. I hate to see these things GS get weathered, I get sad for my k5s when it rains. I went ahead and ran gorilla tape over all the seals until I can afford to buy new seal kits. Im the same as this guy. I want one of every squarebody, I've had two k10s but sold them. So I need a K10, a c10 and a Suburban. Great video man, I love it.

Putting a tarp over a vehicle is about the worst thing you can ever do to one of these old trucks or any car for that matter, especially living in NC! (I’m in NC also) Tarps end up trapping moisture and humidity in and it can’t dry out and you will rust out the top side of the fenders, his, and roof in a few very short years! Especially I North Carolina cause of our humidity. I’ve seen hoods and deck lids with nothing left but the inner section left when you go to open the hood or trunk after just five years of having a tarp over them. There have been several channels that have video proof of that On here to show how bad a tarp can be. Dennis Collins was In Sanford NC this summer and showed exactly what tarps do within a few short years and also Poor Boys Garage Which is close to New Bern NC had a couple videos in the past several months that is another prime example of why not to cover a car with a regular tarp. Gorilla tape is a hell of a product and I hate to be negative in any comment I write but brother, your killing yourself by taping the door seams on a blazer with that stuff! It will keep the water out for sure but the adhesion that is designed to grip harder and harder every day and if you have had it sit in the sun at all then it is gonna be even worse! When you go to pull it off, that adhesive is gonna stay on the paint and is gonna be next to impossible to remove without severely damaging the paint. Lacquer thinner, goof off, and other products that are designed to remove adhesives doesn’t work well on that tape after it’s sat in the sun more than a week. I’ve been a paint and body man for over 40+ years and I’ve had to remove plenty of adhesives in my days from folks taping plastic over broken windows to taping up dry rotted seals and damn near every job required repainting of those areas cause it screws things up so bad. And folks don’t understand that I can’t just go in there with my sander either and sand it off in ten minutes cause the sander just spreads it!! I’m telling ya brother, it will keep the water out but it’s gonna make you cry after that and wish you’d never ever seen the stuff before!! I’m sorry for being negative man but someone needed to tell you about these things. Your trying to do good and I respect that but your causing much bigger issues for yourself in the long run! Good luck to ya!!

1980 was the last year for the round shaped headlamps like you said & was also the first year for square shaped headlamps which came standard on the Silverado & Sierra Classic trim levels but optional on the other trim levels. The dual headlamps came out in 1981 along with the new redesigned hood, frontside fenders, front bumper to name a few & like on the 1980 models, the dual headlamps also came standard on the Silverados & Sierra Classics & optional on the other models.

@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS 1973 was the first year for the square bodies & 1987 was the last year for the half ton & three quarter ton regular cab pickups, but the one ton regular cab pickups on the other hand were still in production up through 1989 & same with the crew cab pickups, Suburbans, Blazers, & Jimmys except they stayed in production up through 1991.

Definitely some nice stuff! There's a guy in PA who has a load of trucks around 90 ish plus racks & racks of parts

Drive by that place all the time going to ride dirt bikes. I think those jeeps disappeared. Not a jeep guy, but the wagoneer would be sweet! Always looked like it has cool stuff there. Wouldn't mind a project if I get a shop.

Only Silverados had the square 5x7 headlights from the factory in 1980, There are people who say they have seen some Cheyennes with the square headlights and i have seen some also but all Custom Deluxe models had round headlights unless somebody did the swap themselves.

I ordered a Silverado in 79...it came with Square Headlights to my surprise when I picked it up in Dec.79. When I went through the option list while ordering, I was not offered "square headlights" so it's either standard on Silverado and an option on non Silverados??? Nordic Blue and Mystic Silver were the colors I chose....kept it until 1997 ☹️
