When Nyneave surfaced in that pool I flashed to the jungle river scene in Apocalypse Now. Nyneave looks ticked and focused at the same time. Great performance.

Regardless of you read the books or not, you have to admit, this production and team is quite quite special. I am very impressed by their world-building and character development.

Zoë Robins's athelticism made these shots work. same with Daniel Henney when he ran up the stairs. great stuff, Zoë! :))

I see book purists and haters in general saying this is like the Shannara Chronicles. LOL, are they blind or something. The production value is much higher than Shannara by miles!

I would compare it to GoT - apparently it had a smaller budget at least earlier on and the costumes and sets were much more realistic and the world felt lived in. Here the costumes come off as cosplay or larping (sic) at times and I'm not sure if its the props themselves or the way they are lighting and filming them that make you very aware that you are looking at a set and not a world brought to life.

@IdleBigots these people love the books and the original story, and they feel the show has screw the source material over. You may not agree, but they are expressing some valid points that Rafe should listen

And some people are ungrateful who Bitches about every details that that was in the book that wasn't included in the adaptation. . Just be grateful that we get to have an adaptation of the books at all. People loves to complain. They don't know how much work these people put in each episodes. I mean look at each set. They actually made a practical and actual set. They're not CGI and still people still complains.

None of these people are doing it for free and constructive criticism is always a good thing. People should point out things that they don't like and why and we should all be mature enough to accept that not everyone shares our opinion and get on with life. Personally I feel there are some major editing issues, with questionable decisions over what to leave in and what to cut out. It is resulting in some of the central characters (especially the male ones) feeling very under done.

@@justin-md4xm the casting is one of the better things, they're all very capable. But the writing, ugh it's really poor and the changes really detract from who some of the characters are. I think many people would say nynaeve is their favourite character and unsurprisingly she is the one written most closely to the books and has several of her key moments put in. Her escape from the trollocs helped enhance her story. Lan on the other hand is unrecognisable and the only good thing about his character is his chemistry with nynaeve. They wasted so much time on that warder who offed himself and sacrificed developing their main cast, a decision that resulted in seriously rushed scenes in episode 6 as a result, where you almost feel nothing for your Rand, Perrin, Egwene or even Mat getting left behind.

@@ozmanoshe that's true, it just doesn't bother me that much. I just hope there will be more main cast stuff later with like 10 seasons. (That's optimistic I know but one can hope.)

@@ozmanoshe well lan is getting more attention though and he wasn't really one of the mains. He is kinda too whispery and not gruff enough but I think that's a minor gripe. I think the series is doing a great job of show don't tell with most things. It's not bad writing at all.

I loved these books! I read them as they were written. I'd finish one book and couldn't wait for the next one to be released. I am so happy to hear that the series is in production. .

It doesn't matter that I read 3 of these books. This is unlikely to be a good show. Don't stop trying though. Give it everything you have and make it the best show in the history of television. Make it The Hobbit Vs The Sopranos. That's what I want to see from this show.

Book readers should let some of us enjoy the serie. They keep on whining.

So why do some of the shots behind the camera look better than shots used in the actual show ...

Episode 5 just about killed it for me and episode 6 was a howler too. Getting STD vibes with all the eyes welling up with tears every 5 seconds and Lan.....look how they slaughtered my boy...... 2 episodes to redeem it? Tough ask.

I had a hard time to enjoy it from the start. But I think the breaking point was episode 5 when they decided to focus on some random Aes Sedai rather then the main cast. I will probably watch the full season, just because I genuinely wanna know what more they can do wrong. Will there be multiple dragons now? Would be hillarious.

Trying to make a game of thrones clone. what a rip off. Also to make the show about moraine..... spoiler alert moraine is gone from after book 5. Comes back at the end of the series

SJW Show.....horrible show....really bad completely butchered the source material....even the Winter Dragon pilot by Red Eagle was better then this whole...show

Fools like you just see a few people of color in a show and automatically scream "sjw" Ultimately all the actors are remaining true to the essence of their characters and that's most important. You sound like a f-cking clown 🤡

I waited for years for this show to come out. Watched 5 minutes of it and deleted Amazon prime off my phone. For those of us who read the books we know this show is not even close to the late Robert Jordan vision. It's sad but this is a totally different story. Spoiler alert for those of you that never read the books, the whole story is the result of a woman's quest for power. That's all there is to the story. Nothing more nothing less. If it wasn't for lanfear boring the hole in the dark ones prison then lews Therin would never had caused the breaking of the world and ultimately commit suicide.
