This was really great! I watched the whole video and it means a lot to see my style influence other people. This is actually perfect because I've never been too into owning this set, mostly since the bootlegs have been so hard to spot, its unlikely I would have ever made a video about them and I definitely didn't know as much as what's in this video! For example, I never knew about the bubble packaging continuing in other regions. Stuff like that just made it so hard to know what's real and what's fake with them, good to know now though! And while the fakes are annoying, I do like how they still make new ones. Its kinda cool that Banpresto/Popco Mario's legacy is still continuing to this day. Anyway, really great video, and I've been gone for awhile due to just the state of things, but this video really means a lot and I hope I can come back and make more videos like this one. Thank you for making it!

Boy, does this video takes me back. As a kid, I had all 5 of these PopCo Mario figures, but over time, Luigi's head broke off and Toad lost an arm. They're both long gone, though I still have my original Mario, Yoshi, and DK. Ended up buying a better condition Mario a few years back because of nostalgia. I just love that figure. Great video!

Same exact thing happened to me! 😂😂 one of my Luigis lost his head and Toad lost his arm. My Mario's arm joint got compromised and I had to repair it with a plastic wire nut. Fiddly little action figures but the best ones, in my opinion.

These figures were my childhood! I wish I can find myself a Luigi figure to match with my Mario one!

The original Mario is the earliest memory of me really wanting to buy him at target even though I didn’t know who Mario was. @@Officialtheslimer If you bought it in a retail store it’s 100% official. It was only released in the box packaging in the US. In other countries like Spain, it’s in the bubble packaging. And now I know, Canada too. Thanks for letting me know!

This video is awesome, I just started getting into collecting the banpresto figures, and this video helped me find out more about these figures! I didn’t even know that a few of them existed

aww man i had the Goomba figure as a kid!!!!! my dad had bought it for me from this local store that sold lots of Japanese stuff (had lots of video game and anime related merch) i had no idea it was a Japanese exclusive that’s so cool

In Latin America was pretty easy finding those Banpresto/PopCo figures, mostly the bootlegs and I have many of them. It was years ago, now I just found bootlegs

I picked up the Mario Luigi koopa troopa and the green yoshi from toys R us when I was 5 Mario and Luigi were the only ones to make it out alive.

I had the Mario, Luigi and Yoshi figures as a kid, but I gave them away after I collected the S.H. Figuarts figures (except Yoshi) and thought that the Popco/Goldie figures were inferior compared to them. I regret that decision. 😖 but hey, at least I still have Toad and Donkey Kong ;)

Those are much harder to tell because the packaging on the Official and Fake ones are near identical. Just look for imperfections and see if it’s on model.

I recently got a Toad super size figure which has one arm pointing up and one pointing down. However I saw another Toad online with more of a normal pose (both arms down). So Im not shure if mine's legit or not. I do have to say it looks nice and the paintjob is good.

i'm fairly certain that every one of these that i have are bootlegs (the peach one that i have definitely is, she is really ugly) and they all came in bags. I don't really mind though.

This might be one of my favorite Nintendo figure lines. I grew up with all of these figures, I think my favorite one in the set is Mario due to the amounts of nostalgia that I have for that specific figure. I'd go as far as saying that this is my most favorite piece of merchandise of the character due to the amount of sentimental value this figure has given me. He may not have good articulation but he's such a solid figure of the character that it just makes him my favorite one in the set. Luigi is my other favorite one too mainly just for being my favorite character in the games. Only downside is how fragile he is. If he wasn't as easy to break then he more than likely would be my favorite. Still an amazing figure though regardless, and the fact that it's Luigi makes it good.
