A Look at Give Kids The World Village (Interview with Pam Landwirth)

Give Kids The World is a nonprofit organization that exists only to
fulfill the wishes of critically ill children and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to Central Florida’s attractions, and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need. Last week I interviewed Give Kids The World Village CEO and President, Pam Landwirth, for a segment that aired during Charityland 2019. This is an extended version of that interview. All revenue generated by this video for the first two months will be donated directly to Give Kids The World Village.

;0 yah... i think if any 'outsider kids network' deserves a lil' bit of diz-support, especially since they've built up their own village nearby? ;0 could use some tech-support via their park-app, and whatever else... etc etc...

I'm a volunteer at GKTW. Every day I'm there, I love seeing the smile on children's faces as we get to give them a once-in-a-lifetime vacation for them to enjoy. It's always an amazing experience, and I hope that more people decide to become a volunteer or even just donate to the village. Either way, you make a difference.

Crystal, thank you so much for volunteering. As a former wish child who visited in 2010, the volunteers changed my life! The week my family and I had is something we will never forget. The smiles, laughter, and care free moments of joy got me through some extremely challenging moments years later. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have a physically and mentally impaired brother who just passed away in august. And one of the happiest memories I have of him was when we all took a trip to GKTW. I was 9 at the time, and my brother was 6. It was one of the best childhood experiences we’ve had. If I had the opportunity to go down there again (whether to volunteer, work, or vacate) I’d take that chance. And I’d definitely recommend GKTW a place to go for any family. Here I am, ten years later, still reminiscing on all the memories I’ve had there…just like it was yesterday. I thank God for this resort.

Oh I completely agree, I actually have the disorder my daughters have and when I was a child my parents took me to WDW for the first time and had feeding tubes and everything and they still talk about how excited I was and how much I loved seeing all the characters and just being a normal kid and not in a hospital bed, and that’s why I believe even as adults, people still love going and just being able to be a kid all over again!

Ice cream for breakfast 😋 oh yeah! Why not, so wonderful ❤️💕 I was a cast member of the magic kingdom and always when I worked at Pirates of the Caribbean, I would give one Boat for the family of kids with the Make-A-Wish foundation buttons. No matter if there was only 3 or more in the group. To see a child with a big smile on their faces was priceless ❤️💛 I would make sure that the group would receive no less than 5 fast passes for that day too, per person. For now on I am going to give my nephews and nieces ice cream breakfast. 😁👍

This group is so good! A few conventions I went to in the mid 2000s picked this as their charity and I've followed them ever since. An artist who attended them worked at Disney Animation and was clearly familiar with them which is where I think they got the idea, and he drew the image of that rabbit mascot guy.

Even after the kids get better and enter remission they have meet ups across the country so they can meet others who have been through the same battles and to make friends. I got more pictures from that property and especially that mushroom carousel than pictures from the parks. I think she rode that thing 100 tiimes. She is diagnosed clear here for a while now and still talks about thaat trip. She remembers every second. Anyway robbie, great video. Buuuut I just wanna say, I really wish that place was better. Being associated with disnaversal, it should be at the same level.
