Excellent! This is going to help so many people. I tell people I don't know when they ask me what I'm doing. We don't always know and like you said, it isn't a crime. I am self employed and constantly evolving. I don't always know or have a plan. That is just life. People must also mind their business and your colleague would rather you fall down dead in a country where they are dying like flies from an anti- rest culture. Thank you. You are lucky you are married to a wise caring man. I wish you well and take your sabbatical. There are droves of black American women doing just that. Type in 'sabbatical' in the YT search. You will see an exodus of black women taking their sabbaticals NOW. Take a break for as long as you want. Love you.

I really hope it helps as many people as possible because that's the sole purpose of still releasing this video despite it being several months back. I was able to take about 6 months sabbatical after finishing PhD without working or schooling but someone else might not be able to take that but the person needed to hear that he/she is not alone. About the sabbatical suggestion, thank you so much for the suggestion. I actually did take about 6 months sabbatical and I feel so much better that was why I finally announced my graduation but I just felt like someone still needed to hear this even if the phase has passed for me ❤🥰

This was me during the service year. I was making plans here and there without regarding that my body was demanding rest and care, because I can only rely on myself. Mid into January, my body is so exhausted and sick, that I qualify it as "feeling lazy". I began to hate myself, there was more to do and I was struggling real bad. Taking on more jobs and just struggling to keep to the responsibilities. Towards the end of January, after this particular job, I just exploded and went off everywhere. Meanwhile there was more jobs pending and the fact that I went off, made me hate everything more. Thankfully, I could process my thoughts off the buzz and realized that I was actually very sick, but for the weird wiring of my brain, it translated as "feeling lazy". When I'm asked "what next?" I just tell people "breathing" and I need to work some more to save up for the what next that I have in my brain. In the meantime, I'm recovering and focusing on hobbies and learning to process my emotions better. Thank you for this, Chilo! And even if I'm lazy sef😅, I'm taking steps to make sure I eradicate such laziness. You're a big inspiration, Dr. Chi!❤❤

I strongly agree with you on this, especially in this social media age. Nowadays, some people try to put their expectations on others. They would want to judge at every opportunity simply because you feel you need to relax. People place high expectations of things they see as ideal forgetting we are all humans. And at some point in life, we need those tiny pauses to come back with full force else we break down. Thank you Chilo for this vulnerability and truthfulness. I love your content because they are thoughtful and inspiring. Keep going.

The truth is, it's beyond caring about what people will say but the fact that people need to be accountable for what comes out of their mouth to others. It's possible to not read comments, to avoid triggers, to announce my graduation on the internet several months later etc etc just to avoid things but the question remains...for how long? For how long will we remain unkind to each other? Because the truth is, we can avoid triggers all we like but one day when someone is in a very vulnerable place of mind it will definitely get to the person. We just need to do better

Regarding this 👆, so many people thinks we are in a car race in this world. Living is living pls, wether someone is working or trying to figure out their lives, it is enough reason to be alive and living. Moreover, all these work is for what exactly??? Isn't health and happiness top priorities in life? Pls Dear don't mind them. Most people even start off their year with one month staycation. They way you read for your PhD is not the same with them, make person wey get AA rest more than those with their other grades. I totally understand you and I'm glad you shared it. Everybody should mind the way the put their mouths in someone else's life. "The money is not finishing" - Chilo 24:😂😂😂😂 Personally, I've learnt so much from you yet from afar, hopefully, one day I will get to meet and tell you a lots of how you've impacted me. Dr. Chioma we do have so much similarities and I'm so proud of you. You're exceptional and wishing more beautiful blessings and greater heights. Thank you for being on this space. But it's not finishing na 😂😂😫. People should genuinely learn to keep their mouth out of other people's business. The person might not be doing the popular thing but it doesn't still make the person's decision stupid. This life is not mortal kombat game o 😂😫 Also, thank you so much for the kind words, I really hope I get to meet you one day too ❤️

Hi chilo, is very important, graduated from nursing school with 3 kids, during my 2 years of schooling I neglected my children missed lots of their school activities and awards. After my board exam which I pass, i decided to keep the certificate and focus on my children to nurture and care for them. Also am resting for myself too. My dear you’re not lazy, for naysayers press ignore button. Thank God your hubby is understanding. Baby girl enjoy your rest.

Hi Chilo, good day. I am glad you're resting because resting is very important for a fresh start. It puts you in a place to be more productive. I didn't rest before starting my job now it's affecting my productivity and enthusiasm, not just to work but to major decisions too. I know life doesn't pause for us to rest, but please take as much as you want and need. You might even find out a new part of you that leads to something great tomorrow. A part you never saw yourself in. One thing I have learnt is that people are too quick and swift to say things but when life hits them they do exactly the same thing they point fingers at or not affirm to. Thank you for sharing your experience, it's valid and helps encourage us to be very much sure of our decisions and choices too. Much love from me😊

Allah is the one who can help you If we do not see him This does not mean that he does not exist . How do you believe that Jesus is God? Then how was he crucified? Do you think that God is weak? You will say to erase our mistake, that is, a mistake that we did not commit, and needs to do that to erase our mistake. Where is the mercy ??and how he (Jesus) prostrated and prayed?to who??? Also, there are many contradictions that I saw in the Bible because it is distorted. We believe in Jesus, peace be upon him, as a prophet because he was a prophet and he worshiped one Lord who had no partner. He worshiped Allah. May God guide you. For the truth, watch Talk Islam's video entitled Where is the Love and you will know the truth The Qur’an contains scientific evidence proving its authenticity 😊 I hope you get better

I personally understand you Chi. Some people don’t have the luxury to rest and that’s okay but if you find yourself in that situation where you can afford to please rest. I have been schooling since 2020 and I can tell you that I feel exhausted many times, did a double masters and now currently doing my PhD. Now doing my PhD, I realized that the energy which I used for my first masters is no longer the same, lack of motivation, struggling to push and just learning to let go of something’s (I can not kill myself 😅). I will definitely take a long time off after my PhD and I love that someone is finally saying that. Being in diaspora as an international is a rat race, everyone is just trying to SURVIVE. Congratulations once again on your graduation, I have been your follower for a while and I am happy to see you share your life stories and how much you have thrived!. Jisike nne

Reading this, I can totally understand you with every line you wrote because studying for a long time is real but it's funny how the average person thinks it's no big deal. I finished my BSc in 2016, did NYSC in a university setup again in 2017, started my post graduate studies in Japan from 2018 to 2023. Looking at that timeline, it shows that I have literally been studying since 2012 (when BSC started) but yet someone will think it's not enough reason to be tired. I love that I see people who can relate, thank you for taking the time out to type this. I am really rooting for you 💪

well-done Doc! please get enough rest. rest is a form of self-care imagine reading a book and there are no commas, no full stops.. it'll give you headache to read, that's even if it has meaning. you're who you are. not what you do. even our creator calls himself, "I AM THAT I AM" he doesn't attribute his essence to doing. the strong ones are the ones who are tapped into being than doing and don't let others define what they are, based off of what they do or don't. sending you lots of love Chilo❤

Chiloo, which planet are those people from, who equate taking time for rest as a brand of some laziness. Look, here in Europe and in the western world in general, students take up to a year off on "sabbaticals "and make it clear that it is to rest due to academic burnout, or even workload pressures. Infact, I for one won't take any notice of those "what next" questions because I know how judgemental people can ruin others. Next time this happen and someone asks "what next ?. may be for your sanity tell the person that you have plans in the pipeline and to wait until it matures, end of story, final full stop. That's how to save yourself from probings. Remain Blessed my dear.

See eh, people just have to learn how to talk
