My sister and brother-in-law bought one similar to this, one of their friends bought one also within 6 months of when they bought theirs. That was almost 25 years ago. The friend had to replace theirs every 10 years. My sister said the reason theirs is still the original is because they only burnt wood, nothing else, they even only used propane to start the fires. While the friend burned whatever they could find, pallets, treated wood, particle board, etc. including garbage. All those chemicals in the stuff they burned corroded pretty much everything it touched. Do the proper maintenance and these types of stoves will last a very long time.
