A little Jamwich...
Музыка
I've been tweaking a single patch for a week or so now, just trying out little things to see if I can use tricks live. Today I've mainly been distorting the hell out of the mother-32 (again with the Saich), via the WMD stereo compressor. It's got some potential, but I think it needs a low pass filter after the compressor just to remove some of the top end. Sadly, I'm all out of filters, so I may need to go dig one out and add to the rig (luckily I still have a little bit of space).
The only downside I find to the Saich is that it has so much fuzzy mids, that it makes it quite hard to tune the rig by ear when it's running. Turns out that gets even worse when you distort the signal! Hopefully with enough practice, that side will get easier....

I witnessed you jamming at Hunters on this, was out of this world good. 🙏🧡

That weekend was fucking amazing! That was the first time I actually enjoyed playing live (there’s a lot that can go wrong with what I do, so I’m usually just trying to minimise the fuck ups) I’m glad you got to experience the synth live in full surround! Imagine following my channel and only knowing what it can do in stereo! Boring! :p

@@robthebloke That takes balls to do live man. I would hope people who know about this form of music would be aware of the experimental side of it and just flow with what happens 😊👍🍻

@@meinteybergen4617 yup. That’s basically why my KZread channel has been neglected for so long (was trying to figure out how to do it, and it’s nigh on impossible to record for KZread). If you got a very good pair of headphones, I’ve got 3 videos recorded off my phone that give a rough idea - eg this was the very first time I set up the surround sound rig - kzread.info/dash/bejne/pnidlciGZcvZgdI.htmlsi=RFpuONvidNwOt1oJ It’s just a single note being rotated around the room (sometimes at audio rates, which is what is generating the second tone)

Yes, in fact it's a rare modulawizardo in the wild. Approach slowly, they tend to be a bit aggressive and flighty during the mating dance. 🤣 🤖👽🛸 We don't want to scare him off. Great jam!

@@januszhrustthats the best part at the end of the day you're just trying organize the madness all these modules want to produce. Nobody really knows what their doing unless they have a degree in electronics and studied every module in their rig which is compeltly pointless from a musical standpoint.

Spotify, 5-9 min tracks!! EP!
(With this track) I imagine being glided through a seemingly endless desert dunescape with eroded skyscrapers poking out of the sand on a cloudless sunny day.
The culmination of twenty years of arcane hermit-mode.
Love how the YT algorithm has finally started recommending smaller, unique creators!
Forget the synth for a second… this guy knows music. That what brings this thing alive, and it’s so cool to see how he comes up with this shit whether it’s on the spot or not!
What I love about this is how it feels like you're really taking a journey - both yourself, and taking the listener on a journey - through very gradiated landscapes. It's like every 7 minutes or so, a very steady molecule-by-molecule metamorphosis lands you in a different landscape that you arrived at very organically. Hope that makes a tenth as much sense as it did in my head. Anyway I like it a lot. Really helps me find my zen on work breaks lol.

If you like that feeling and want to hear it in a totally different genre, you should give minimalist classical music a shot! A great place to start would be Steve Reich and Philip Glass. I like Steve Reich's Electric Counterpoint and Philip Glass' Glassworks a lot.
Why do I get the feeling that when you first started patching this up, you were clean shaven and your eyes were wide open and hyper aware?!? Very Psy-Trance. My attempt to label this very cadence-quantized technical jam! Thank you for letting us hear it!
Essentially a bangin 40 minute DJ set but its all improv originals. delicious sound!
That key change at 22:20 is so good. Had to go back in order to listen to it once again

I am SO GLAD that I was born late enough in human history to witness this. I feel like the experience of our ancient ancestors hearing this would be akin to ourselves seeing new colors - these sounds have only existed in such a relatively tiny slice of time so far. Absolutely brilliant performance. Thank you for sharing it.
Goddamn dude the way this jam held me in a trance this whole time is absolutely insane. I had packed a nice bowl and just sat there listening for the whole time. Outstanding work my guy you deserve millions of followers

cant find a single boring moment, its like a DJ set but its just the dude and his plugs and boards
Dude is a wizard. Most DJs use relatively minimal setups nowadays, but this is something you cant clearly just sit behind idly. I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it, this looks near impossible to know exactly whats going to happen at any given moment! Beautiful stuff man I will try and advertise your art as best I can.
This deserves an entire video game built to match this opus
it’s like watching a sculptor work, you can feel the beauty emerging and when it hits ooft - this is exactly what I’ve been looking for - thanks for sharing your talents Mr Bloke
I discovered your channel yesterday. I am thrilled by this deeply touching music. full of strength and wings, you enter into indescribably beautiful dimensions. a real enrichment, thank you very much for that 🙏Greetings from Germany
Your content is awesome. I've been showing all of my friends. You give us that lovely feeling of discovering something novel and fresh that we are excited to share with everyone. Keep doing your thing! Love from London
This is so lovely. Mans knows his craft! Keep em coming 🤩
I discovered your music yesterday and have already binged it for like 4 hours. Thanks for the jams 🙌
transcending thru dimensions rn
So good. I can feel the spinal fluid draining away.
well damn edit; the spacey factory-esque percussion at 10:50 is clean as hell, love this shit
Literally this entire live act could be a nice EP 🔥
I rarerly comment on youtube videos, but you are out of this world. I dont usually enjoy techno or similar music that much (dont know in which category to put this) except Carl Cox😂, but I just listen to your art while going to uni or just chilling and it makes me just feel alot better. I want you all the best in this world, you definitely deserve A LOT more views and subscribers! Hope to hear you live one day. 💪🏻🤞🏻

Hey Rob, you bubbled up in the algorithm. Love your jams - you tell a story, which is pretty impressive on the modular. The Colin Benders influence is tangible :) Any chance of another camera angle so we can see better what you're up to?

Damn, this is very good🔥
Really reminds me of Douglas Holmquist at times. Great Bop!
I could listen to this consecutively for days ! Really nice stuff!
Well I used to think I knew what I was doing with FM synthesis. After ten years l had to admit to myself that I didn't, so - props 🥂 I still have a pair of Yamaha FS1R rack units with a custom built editor that displays every single parameter for every single voice, runs to 7 pages when displayed on a tablet but could be displayed on 1 large screen. FM for non percussive sounds eg pads (complex, evolving multitimbral, including sequencable formant synthesis and syncable LFO's). I seem to remember they were excellent for emulating the sonic properties of glass and metal. If used sensitively they could counterpoint the analog sounds you very nicely craft already. I think I should offer to "donate them to your cause" whatever that is... I assume you want people dancing😃
I definitely want a road-trip with this beats
That was bloody awesome! It's a shame how quickly those 40 minutes went by, I could hear it all day. I'm looking forward for more of these jams.
Another one here thru YT reccomended..nice patch! Subbed and look fwd to more.
It's just GOD lvl. Your play is amazing, really hard to find right words and describe how I liked it. I think it's the best modular sound I ever heard! thank you
Ok... So... Except for jazz, blues and death metal, I kinda listen to just about anything, from musicals to dubstep. But I've never encountered this type of music before, seems like I found something new to add to my playlist 😎👍
