Nice video, Christopher! I played the demo some time ago and I can be wrong but looks like the mystling in the front row does note activate, it just strikes with it's power value! Sorry if you figured out mid gameplay and I did not see!

Oh interesting...the one I had in front has a specific activation to do his attack so I assumed that was just his specific thing.

@tzera_rhuon it does, but I don't prefer that style of game. Player elimination isn't fun for me, and, one of the two times I played it, I wasn't dead, but couldn't complete either of my objectives after turn 2, so I was pretty upset.

am i the only 1 being annoyed about him saying "lets pick that" but not actually picking the card? u been selecting them but never picking..

They aren't strategy games, so probably not very likely. Last time Odd broke away from strategy / tactical games, (The Last of Us 2) the reception wasn't great.

A roguelike is a dungeon crawler with procedurally generated dungeon, turn based gameplay, grid based movement and permadeath. This has none of those things and is nothing like Rogue at all.

@@Toltex Yeah, wouldn't complained if that was used although I'm not a fan of the term. Mostly because it's the reason people misuse Roguelike, but also because it doesn't describe what kind of game it is. Used as an adjective it's fine (roguelite deckbuilder or roguelite city builder), but if used to classify a game it's terrible. Slay the Spire and Against the Storm are both called roguelites, but have very little in common. I prefer an X game with iterative progression, but that's probably too much of a mouthful for most people.

I think roguelike fits well enough. I knew roughly what to expect based on Odds title.

the number of bad plays is damn annoying. not looking at energy costs, making the same mistakes with cards, not using the activation or talents of any of the other mystlings, not making proper use of random, and just going brute force on all fights.
