This was a band that moved with the times, no one done it like them. Linkin Park is Immortal. Bands must adapt to survive and thats what LP is doing, because if you dont adapt...you perish. Bands in the past have become less relevant because they did not evolve, LP is a prime example. They went from a rap/rock/metal band to a rock/metal band and then to a rock/numetal band with a little bit of dubstep in there. Adapt or Perish, we the fans need to understand that your favorite bands will change over time and that they will never remain the same. Accept it, or leave.

The Dark Enigma It's quite funny how you think that a certain amount of people agreeing with you immediately means that you're right. It was probably once believed that the world was flat, people agreed with that and look how truthful it turned out to be... here's for a long read. You're talking about adapting to the "mainstream". First of all, there are plenty of bands out there that have a great amount of fans, yet never have they changed their sound. For example, AC/DC. Every album literally sounds the same, but they're still one of the most popular rockbands and are still around today. Rock bands don't need to adapt to the mainstream to have any fans in the first place - if music genres like screamo are favoured by people, then it is already proven true that fans don't merely come with following the mainstream, and it should be known that not every artist out there is making music to appeal to the masses & to make money. There are still people who do it because they, for example, like producing pure rock songs. There are bands that adapt to the mainstream just to "fit in" and/or just to make cash or cater to the regular audience. Saying that they would otherwise "perish" is a huge pile of nonsense, realize that. I'm not saying that every band should keep releasing albums that literally sound the same (although the widely hated band Nickelback does this and still holds a spot in the mainstream rock of today, somehow gaining many, many fans and earning the cash they're looking for in the progress), but saying that bands have to adapt to the mainstream and that they will otherwise "perish" is just nuts. A rock band is a rock band for a reason, I don't see how they would have to adapt to the mainstream of pop & electronic music and add dubstep to their sound to stay relevant, similarly to what you said a band has to do over time - that's just not true. Today, there are many bands and artists that will always remain loved. No matter when their time was. Jimi Hendrix? He'll never be forgotten, yet he never got to see the age of electronic music. It's not true that every band and artist has to follow the mainstream crowd and adapt to that 'hip' style of music to stay relevant. Wanting to get big quickly and thus going for mainstream music is another case, but if you're merely doing this for the fame and recognition, not for the art of music itself, then why do it in the first place? Just my two cents... or two hundred cents...

This song brings so much nostalgia to me. I don't know why is it so special to me. It sounds so good. Those "ohs" give me chills.

The hype with each LP song and album release was unmatched! I never felt and feel like this about any performer. I remember following all the releases and all their live performances. The only ones who got me excited to listen to music!

Brandon Salcido - I agree. Although he stated that when they were making the OML album he had just come out of one of the darkest times in his life and it was very therapeutic for all of them and he had finally let go of his demons and was so optimistic and excited over where the future was going to take not just him, but the entire band as well. Had a grey daze reunion show planned. We all know Chris's death hit him very hard. I think what people need to truly understand rather than picking apart their songs (that most were cowritten) and claiming the lyrics to be his "suicide note" and especially picking and choosing what lyrics they want rather than the entire songs that all tell a story. One of the main ones people are picking apart is "I'll be gone" but if you listen to the lyrics in the whole song, not only does he say "when the lights go out And WE open our eyes, out there in the silence I'll be gone. Let the sun fade out and another one rise, out there in the silence I'll be gone." Then consider the lyrics in the whole song. It's about the ending of one relationship and the beginning of a new one. I understand people are looking for answers in every way possible wanting to understand but suicide is statistically a spontaneous decision that unfortunately usuallg onviously cannot be taken back. I know this having gone through it on both ends.

Our hero Chester promoted his suffering the whole time. He spontaneously gave up the fight left ruins and answers for so many different people and institutions.

This has always been my favorite LP song since I've heard it. Around 2014 was the first time. I got the opportunity to see them live in 2012. Always been a fan of LP ever since I heard "Bleed it out" for the first time as a child. I really really loved this band. Rest in Peace Chester. Hearing this song always, ALWAYS makes me cry. You were such an inspiration, and beautiful human. May you rest it utmost peace and bliss. Truly. I miss you, and the whole of the LP fanbase misses you. Thank you for everything you've done for us, truly.

Chester never left this realm. Listening to LP since 2006 when i was 12. I am 28 today. And i will be still here until i dont leave the realm.

You know just like other "real" fans of Linkin Park who have shown their support towards them from their glorious days to the present day I've been doing the same. Linkin Park went from Rock/Metal-ish to Rock/Tecno-ish (correct me on this). What does that mean? They wanted to appeal to the younger crowd who are just now listening to EDM as a whole (including but not limited to Dubstep, Drum n Bass, Electro). If guys haven't noticed but there are a LOT of EDM artists and many more are coming out of the shadows on big labels such as Mau5Trap and Monstercat. The fans just come pouring in and that's what Linkin Park wants;for the fans to come pouring in the same way they did when Meteora and previous albums released. I don't really see what's so bad about Linkin Park's newer albums. "You don't like the techno" but the "rock" is still very much there. Maybe if you had better headphones you could hear it. *cough* Most people listen to music for the lyrics. That's what Linkin Park is about in the end. The music just adds the extra feels as you hear the instruments clash together with the vocal. If you don't like that then why listen to music in general anyway? Look at Thousand Foot Krutch. They progressed very well. Stayed true to their roots but now their music has gained more "soul" and have dropped in pace as well but they're still a rock band just like Linkin Park. Nothing's really changed "that" much. Everything is still there but they're adding new ideas. Look at Korn. They recently added Skrillex and Kill the Noise to one of their bangin' songs. The rock/metal is still there but in the background you'll here little wobbles and other sounds that you'd find in EDM music. The original fans still love Korn even though all of the extra stuff is there. I even bang my head to Korn and wave my arms around to the EDM parts when they come around. Just like the other guy said: Adapt or Leave. If you can't see that. You're fucked.

You can say that In a sense referring to a thousand suns and living things but a hunting party sort of gets away from that. They went harder and more rock oriented for that as you probably know
