    I got full marks on mine and used the same two JStor articles throughout! Please don’t try and randomly find tons of different critics for your books, find two really amazing pieces that link to your texts and then evaluate them throughout!

    Class vid! How do u incorporate the critics into your essay. I’ve written a good essay but I find using critical thinkers a nuisance. How do you actually use them?

    So I usually try and find a quote from a critic that supports my point of view and then work that into a paragraph. Eg. State my claim, evidence claim in text, then state “this is also supported by critic XYZ when they state this...” and then explain a little how what the critic says also supports your claim as well as your evidence from the text itself. I hope that makes sense!

    Hi! I’m doing English lit A-level and for my coursework, I’m doing a question on how Sylvia Plath shows feminism in her collection of stories ‘Ariel’ my teacher said I need to add critics into my essay but I’m not sure who to add and where to add, are any specific critics you would recommend on feminism?

    I'm in a scandal. My lit coursework is due in for tomorrow and I still haven't been able to find any critical opinions relating to my text. I am doing The buried giant by Kazuo Ishiguro and comparing it to Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams in relation to the truth and how the writers each present truth in their texts. Could you perhaps help me with that?

    late but depending on your exam board each nea is 1500 words excluding quotations, so you can get up to 6 pages as long as you’re really using quotations a lot throughout

    When using critics in a timed essay, would you lose marks for not naming the actual critic? Can you just say, critics argue that... ?

  • @KatieMay7

    @KatieMay7

    3 жыл бұрын

    If you remember the specific critic use the name but if not stick with phrases like “one critic stated” “some critics argue” so that you’re not accidentally implying that all critics believe the same thing! Hope that helps ☺️
