Sad news for those who knew Junior Nkuhuma. He was truly an impressive male lion if you look back on his life as a lion. His legacy will hopefully live on in 3 different prides. He still has young from the Skorro pride that sadly he left in 2017. The remaining Koppie female which is alone now with buddy and 5 cubs. He was seen mating with the Mribi females and maybe there's a chance he gets cubs with them in January or February and this will be the last of his bloodline. It's sad to see such a dominant male in his prime pass away so fast and it shows you just how quickly things can change in the bush. This will definitely make me appreciate the time spent with them even more than before. I will go and search the Skorro pride to film his boys and we will see his legacy live on! R.I.P big boy!

Come on people we can make a change social media is such a strong tool . It's time to shame these money making machines to take account for the beautiful animals that makes them millions . Time fo camps or Safari companies that do not have a certified veterinary on payroll should be shamed right out of business , please people let's get together and formulate so kind of plan to bankrupt these SOBs or seriously hurt their efforts. @@robertbond330 these Safari parks & camps you talk about bring in the tourist trade & dollars that helps with the wildlife of the parks why on earth would you want to jeopardise that for God’s sake if y’all want to stop anything stop the millionaires who go hunting for lions & the can farmers from producing the lions they kill so readerly there are plenty you can help in Africa donate some money into a veterinary school or hospital or the safari national parks it can all help the wildlife

It's hard to lose any of these beautiful lions, especially when you follow their lives like a lot of us do... I don't play favorites, but this hit differently for me, I really loved hearing about Junior, and the Orpen males. Rest easy boy. Thanks for sharing.

Sometimes i wish i could love lions less! I also wish they coud receive some kind of help. Their life is hard. And it's so sad when a lion goes this way, when he was so useful! I'm afraid of the consequences. I'm disappointed there's nothing we can do. RIP beautiful boy.

I feel you. Wish there`s some way I could get less attached to them all but it`s hard when I spend so much time around them. In some way they become my friends. They are the ones that I share my thoughts with there in the wild with nothing around.

The bitter sweetness of being human. We enjoy 6-8 generations of lions, out pets, most animals. And we get to witness a lot of death.

Im sure the Bush caries anti venom serum. If only they would help these animals. Tired of hearing "Can't interfere".Bull! They make plenty of money off these beautiful ,majestic animals. Lions like Junior, Ginger Matimba,Nusuku, Big Boy, Hip Scar. Not once did they ever help them when they were hurt or sick. They say we don't interfere ,well there are other places that help their animals not just lions but all animals especially for something as simple and treatable as mange. Poor Ginger how he suffered. The hierarchy at Kruger/Sabi Sands better beware because soon there won't be anymore lions,elephants,leopards and others in the wild. How are they going to make there money then. They won't be getting $50,000- $100,000 for turning a blind eye for illegal hunting and/or poaching. They get so much money, tell me what do the lions. If they're lucky a fast death,if not, like Ginger they suffer unmercifuly. Now I realize we can't save them all, but damn at least let's try

As it saddens me that this magnificent lion has passed, I know it is much harder on the guides who would see him often and got to know his habits. It is a special relationship. Hopefully, the genetics will carry on.

This is such a beautiful tribute for Junior Nukhuma. Thank you. 💕 I still feel very sad to know he is no longer with us.😥😥 It was a shock about what happened to him, especially he looked in a fine form when he was at the camp only a few days prior. He will be forever remembered by me. ❤ I pray his cubs will survive into adulthood to carry on his legacy. ❤ Now, I am rooting for Buddy to stay healthy and well as long as possible to look after the prides. ❤❤

Let's be real, with this Barrier preventing medical treatment and with the number of male lions dying recently due to this Stupid Policy, it makes them more extinct! In situations where medical treatment can save any of these animals, it should be performed, that's what contributes to them living longer!

He must of been in a number of fights. He was missing a canine tooth and had that bad limp for a bit. Great tribute to a amazing Lion!

I believe he was in a number of fights! The limping was only for about 2 hours that same day. He was sleeping on the leg for too long and stood up and walked and we followed and about 2/3 hours later he walked normally as nothing happened.

when he was limping it was simply because he was sleeping on his leg for too long. ( almost like when we get pins and needles ) after about 3 hours with him that same day. He was walking NORMAL just like he should be walking. Hope that helps❤️ Thank you so much for watching! He was living wild and free and that's amazing!

Devastating news. Loved how fierce he was, never frightened (even if he should be :) That beautiful freckle face. The gorgeous colors in his mane, like a halo in the sun. He taught us so much in his living n now he taught us even more in his passing. Life is a gift, but time is not promised. He really hasn't fallen...he moved forward to conquer eternity. @@greeneyes325 There absolutely is right here on KZread. You'd have to search "SafariLive" footage from back then. I think he was the only boy of a litter of 4 and cousins were all females. I think there was like 7-9. Dynamics changed, some male coalition came along and killed off not only alot of sub adults but a few of the adults as well. He survived and still stuck with who was left till he was one day ran off for good. He was run off a few times but came back. Really the females ran him off for his taking all their food and he was real violent about it. There is alot of footage out there between Facebook and KZread.

Truly magnificent. What a tragedy. Deep sadness. I truly think there has to be another way. A way where humans dont intervene in normal circumstances, but somehow there are exceptions made. This would have been one. And he would be probably alive. Thanks for a great video.

I don't know where to start as I have followed him his whole life ...i fell in love with the Nkuhuma Pride Junior & Amber Eyes my 2 fav's. Junior was without a doubt the most Majestic & Beautiful Male Lion I Have ever had the pleasure to see up close & to follow for the last 8 yrs .. I Am Truly Heartbroken 💔 over his passing . I was to make another visit in 2021 Another Memorible Safari to which I was hoping to meet up with him once again 😔... Gone way to soon 😢 I worry now over Buddy as he is now alone and injured with Beautiful Junior to give him support ...it looks bleak atm for him and his Coalition..what of the cubs sired of these Wonderful Males ? ...will they be killed off 😪 by another Coalition 🤔 Oh Dear I Dread That Possibly. It`s sad that we lost him at the age of 8 and he was in his prime. I will do my best to film his cubs and show everyone his legacy and if they will fight against all odds!

I just found your channel and i hate that this is the 1st video of yours I'm seeing. This is so sad and has broken my heart. I've only recently started learning about lions and following them, so i don'ts know much. But I do know this guy was a great lion. So beautiful, over come a lot, gentle with his cubs... all for it to end so suddenly. (I know thats how lions live and a lot die suddenly & even violently) it doesn't make it any easier or hurt any less. Your video of him was lovely. I can see you loved him as much as the rest of us. I am sorry. Rest peacefully sweet, beautiful King. Hugs to everyone who is sad over our the loss of this magnificent King.

@@shaka7594 Hello! I have watched some videos on them. They were ferocious and, no denying that! Unfortunately, I have a hard time finding videos of them that include factual information about them. The videos usually include the persons personal opinion (which is totally fine & I enjoy hearing others thoughts/feelings about things) but I prefer to have actual facts to form my own thoughts/feelings/opinion. He was the lion that made me fall in love with filming and will remember him forever for that!

I am very happy to have come across your channel and look forward to the videos to come! As I mentioned, i am new to following these magnificent animals and i have fallen in love with the 'other' Junior. I believe (again, a newbie so of I am mistaken of the name, my apologies in advance!) he is with the Othawa pride? He is the only 1 of 3 male cubs born in 2018 to survive and HairyBelly kinda took him in under his wing which was surprising and amazing all at the same time! I believe everyone has their '1st lion' that got them intrigued enough to follow and learn and watch grow, etc. That is my 1st guy, you could say. Very nice video, for a magnificent lion 🌹❤️❤️ He was still young, he could have been saved, unfortunately it was not ... a real tragedy, a big loss for his pride and Buddy, who finds himself alone, at the worst time of his life. I am also thinking of the female koppie with the young, who is also in danger, I hope that all will be able to get out ... 🙏🏻🙏🏻 as I have already said, it risks death, of spawn more deaths, really sad ... ❤️ Thank you Kruger !!! It was and will remain a superb Lion this Junior 🌹❤️❤️🦁
