In the quietude of the early morning, as the first rays of sunlight gently caress the living room, a most peculiar ritual unfolds on the soft landscape of a family sofa. Here, in the domestic wilds of a human home, we find two majestic creatures engaged in an age-old dance of dominance and play. These are not your typical predators of the African savannah or the agile climbers of the Amazon rainforest, but rather, a pair of Basset Hounds, whose droopy eyes and languid demeanor belie a spirited competitiveness.
The Basset Hounds, known to their kind as gentle giants of the canine world, are not predisposed to the high-energy pursuits of their distant relatives. Instead, they have adapted their ancestral wrestling instincts to their more laid-back lifestyle. I have had 6 basset hounds. Not even one of them was lazy. All mine are and have been quite active.

The bum sniff near the end was particularly savage - I had to look away.
My buddy had a basset he got in 1991 I think. It was the best little dog ever. He got it from a fancy breeder. And as a puppy it's ears were so long it couldn't run. It would do 2 or 3 flips and it would just pout and cry. One of us had the idea to use a clothes pin to hold his ears back. That dog ran circles non stop for 20 minutes. Passed out and when he put the clothes pin back on it ran circles again. It was almost 6 months old before it could run free bird. He had thay dog for a very long time. Great great dog he was.

Some say WW3 will resume after a brief nap and some din-din, possibly a belly rub.

My "Hot Dog" doesn't like his nap time disturbed. His nap time seems to include my stationary presence. Since our move a yr ago he's followed me like a shadow and can't rest if I'm on my feet getting stuff done. He'll be falling asleep on his feet but he won't go to bed without me.
That was sooo cute. Well planned by the younger one to distract, tire out the older one & then move in to walk by to grab the bone. Well done.
